This place had a strong rating. Toughest review yet but I'll net at 3 stars. ENTRANCE - right on the corner with outside seating on second Ave and 72street. In fairness it was 1:30 in the afternoon so we waited for someone to come from the back to seat us. DECOR - very elegant looking with table cloth wrapped tables. Had a real European feel albeit to me more of a French look. MUSIC - I have to mention that the music in the background was a bit out of place. More like 80's to post 2000 than perhaps Sinatra. SERVICE - they were very polite but with our table and 1 or 2 outside I have to say not very attentive as we needed to flag them down on occasion. MENU - fairly limited by my perspective but will note the options were northern Italian so if you are looking for red sauce stuff this is not the place. APPETIZERS - I had the beef carpaccio which was tremendously good. ENTREES - I had the linguine with manilla clams. I prefer the long island little neck but have had b4. Pasta was slightly under cooked. Seemed to me not homemade. The broth was quite good but limited. The portion size was not so great given the $35 price. My daughter had the shrimp and scallop pasta in a brandy sauce. Her pasta was a bit under cooked. The scallops were excellent in her opinion. The sauce lacked seasoning. DESERT - wife had the panna cotta that was decent but not great. Daughter had the sponge cake with the coffee pour on top. The coffee flavor overpowered everything and the cake was dry and not flavorful. PRICE - this place is not for the faint of wallet LOL. Appetizers are $20+, most entrees are high $20 to $30+. Three people with 3 drinks racked up $217 for lunch without tip. Given portion sizes this place is expensive. Don't get me wrong I'll spend a lot for great meal but not this place.
