Absolutely delicious.
Home made pasta with interesting and varied sauces(lobster and ricotta/spinach) Portions are not huge but given the richness of the food it was perfect. Tiramisu was different than your typical tiramisu and very nice and light. Atmosphere is pleasant and not that noisy even though it was pretty full. Service was very good too. Would definitely come back to try other menu items.

Nice selection of tasty menu choices, delicious Mimosas and great service!

Truly loved my experience at Il Fiorista! The ambiance was charming and really started my dinner off right. I ordered the 'Buffalo Mozzarella' which was delish! The 'Crispy Potatoes' were also so so good, and lastly the Ricotta Angnolotti = ! Oh and I can't forget the chocolate lava cake -- so decadent! Very impressed with the food! Service was great, our waiters were very attentive and thorough. Would 10000% come back.

This space is adorable and I really wish the food was up to par! I ordered a smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was probably the most lackluster luster eggs Benedict I've had before. The eggs were overcooked resulting in a fully hard boiled yolk, there was minimal salmon, and the potatoes on the side seemed under-seasoned. I did really love the hollandaise sauce though! That being said I was not impressed with their brunch. You might have better luck not getting their brunch items and instead get other things like pasta. It might have a bit more flavor. Although our food was really mediocre at best, service was quick and attentive. They were really friendly and handled all our ordered with no hiccups!

Il Fiorista in Flatiron is an Mediterranean restaurant and floral boutique serving flower accented dishes in a warm ambiance. For dinner we started with squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta. For mains we had the flat iron steak and pappardelle with pecorino and lavender, both of which were delicious. We like this restaurant for the good food and bright, botanical space
Be the first to ReplyWent here for a girls dinner on a chilly friday night.
The place has a pretty strict reservation policy but was only half full pretty much the whole time. That being said, the space is gorgeous - spacious, well lit, very clean aesthetic. Our server was kind and attentive. We got calamari and fried artichoke to share (calamari was better!). I had the rigatoni white bolo and it was INCREDIBLE. Pasta was a perfect al dente, sauce was creamy and meaty with some greens, but still manages to be delicate and not overwhelming. Portion was perfect also, I felt full but not stuffed by the end! With 2 drinks each, shared apps, and pasta the total was $82 each. I liked it and would come again!

After seeing all of the beautiful photos of Il Fiorista, particularly the various flower arrangements, I was admittedly disappointed when I entered the restaurant only to see a couple of vases (one at the entrance and one on the bar) filled with some sparse branches, but I suppose it is the middle of January. Perhaps things look different in the spring and summer. That being said, the place is very bright and cheerful (a vibe that I generally don't go for LOL), and I did think the food and service were good. I ordered the shakshuka, which looked different than the photos (with three roasted potato wedges on top rather than what appeared to be croquettes in the other photos). It was very well seasoned, and the eggs were a perfect consistency. My husband had the burger, which he said was juicy and cooked to order (medium rare), and our friend had eggs over hard, which came with sautéed greens, toast, and crispy potatoes. One thing to note is that their printed menu listed roasted cauliflower soup as an appetizer option, but when we tried to order it, we were told that the soup of the day was something different. They should perhaps consider changing the menu option to soup of the day, or perhaps noting it some other way. Overall, I would consider coming back for brunch or dinner if I'm in the area again.

In a city with more Italian restaurants than you can try in your lifetime, I would not come here for Italian food. But i will say that this is a beautiful, quiet place to catch up with someone I made a reservation for 6:30 on a Thursday night (before a holiday), which proved very unnecessary since it's a large restaurant and was almost completely empty. That's always a little worrying The service was attentive and I was pleased that this was a comfortable space for my group of four to catch up with each other. We could hear each other perfectly My main priority was met of being able to make a last minute res, and unfortunately the mixed reviews about food did make sense to me by the end of the meal -artichokes- crispy and yummy. Not unforgettable though -potatoes side- nicely crisped and flavorful -risotto- it was odd to see this not as a an entree, but we got it for the table and everyone found it tasty. It's something very similar to what I've made myself at home -lavender paperdelle- the pasta was good quality but the sauce was just simple and buttery. I found the lavender to give it a bitter taste -white sweet potato gnocchi- more of a toasted dry gnocchi. Definitely sweet and on the chewier side. I enjoyed it but my husband not so much Overall, a very pretty place with mediocre food

Definitely not "floral" themed as the name suggests, but still beautiful inside. The cocktails were not great- too sour in my opinion. The pasta dishes seemed really unique- a lavender pappardelle caught my eye but I ended up getting the carbonara rosso. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente- the portion was incredibly small and uneven between our table. A friend of ours ordered the same veggie style and got seemingly almost half the size of our dish/ less noodles. We also got the fritto misto to share which stated it came with shrimp and calamari but we only got shrimp. We pointed this out to our waiter who immediately corrected it with a separate portion, which was very generous. Our other friends seemed to like their steaks.

At all. My husband arrived first and ordered me a cocktail. The rim of the glass was dipped in charcoal. Who thought this was a good idea? It was disgusting. We had the trout tartare toast. One bite convinced me I did not need any more of that in my life. Maybe a good place to see and be seen? To take pictures of yourself? I don't know.

The food was great a littleOver priced in my opinion but still decent. It was very girly and floral everywhere which made it cute.

I just went here for Valentine's Day and had a terrible experience. It was $400 for their pre fixed Valentine's Day menu. Not only was the food had but the wait stuff was looming to get us in and out. For that type of money, might as well go get omakase or just generally spend your money elsewhere.

This is a cute, upscale restaurant that's also a floral boutique! You can get a hand-tied floral bouquet on your table for $35-$65 if you want. My friend and I were just there for the food so we didn't get one, but we saw some people who did and they looked lovely. We had a 6pm reservation for 2, and it wasn't busy when we first got there but almost every table was occupied around 7-8pm. We liked the unique options they offered on their restaurant week menu. We chose the dandelion greens+castelfranco salad, trout tartare toast, wild craft farms polenta, marinated tilefish, almond torte and semifreddo. Almost everything was really good! Portion sizes were about what you'd expect - not enough to be truly filling, but still decent. I especially like the tilefish and the semifreddo. The tilefish was tasty and the potatoes with it were really nice as well. The semifreddo was a bit intense but in a good way. I have to admit I really did not like the dandelion greens salad though, and neither did my friend. It was pretty bland and the flavors in it didn't work together at all. That was the only dish that we didn't finish. However, we had a great time chatting and enjoying everything else there! Come by if you're in the area, especially if you want to admire some pretty flowers.
Be the first to ReplyNot very flavorful and filling brunch menu.
And the prices are way overpriced for such a tasteless and small portion meal. Also, we waited 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation.

Came here with friends for celebration and had high expectations but unfortunately we were disappointed. Cocktails were expensive $19-$21 and tasted very very average. I had the sweet potato pasta and was amazed how tiny the portions were. Finished in 2 bites and when my friend wanted to try a piece there wasn't any left. Also because we waited a long time for our food (large party) but really long time too. Interior is cute and they had nice bathrooms. If you are here for a $$$$$ & little bites of food kind of first date / trying to stay on a super model diet, come here.

We had dinner with friends here last week and had a great time! The food was incredible and our favorite dishes were the burrata and the gnocchi. The gnocchi was so soft it just melted in your mouth! We also loved all the floral touches to the dishes. We were expecting there to be more of a floral design to restaurant itself but that wasn't the case - it was still a really cute setup! The service was wonderful as well. Would definitely recommend this place for a date night or dinner with friends!

My husband and I got a late reservation to celebrate our fifth anniversary. The service was fantastic, the food, magnificent. Everything exceeded expectations. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to NYC! AMAZING!

The tasting menu here is phenomenal! Even though it's 4 courses it's really several items. Unfortunately got too hungry and couldn't take photos of all the courses. Olives, bread, salad and burrata to start. Burrata and bread were both delicious! For the pasta course they gave us this red sauce pasta that to us tasted way too fishy. We were disappointed because all the other reviews mentioned the lavender papardelle which we hoped to try. We mentioned this to our waiter and he added it on to our next course for free! Next course was the short rib - pretty good but not as good as the lavender pasta. Finally finished with dessert (but by now we were stuffed). We also got the wine pairing - very nice pours! We will be coming back!

The interior of this place is beautiful and has really nice and calm vibes. The lighting was ambient and the floral decor fit the name of this place (as it should). The service was good and the servers were friendly. A group of 4 of us ordered 4 drinks and 4 dishes. The drinks were good and had sprinkles of floral tastes to them. Pricing for these were pretty standard for Manhattan at around $18 each so it wasn't that big a turnoff. The entrees themselves tasted great but the portion sizes were pretty small and not all that filling for what we paid for them. A simple strip steak ended up costing around $40 with nothing else on the plate. The flavors were great though and each bite was enjoyable (like melt-in-your-mouth enjoyable) but we were still left wanting more. We did not stay for dessert and went elsewhere. This place is good for the experience and the ambiance and the food is delicious but don't expect to get too full for the amount you pay here.
Be the first to ReplySimple and elegant is how I would describe Il Fiorista.
Every dish also a floral note to it, which for someone who loves flowers, I think is a great motif. I had the pappardelle that is done with black pepper, lavender, lemon, and pecorino. The dish was bright, tasty and overall I enjoyed the dish.Wouldn't recommend to other to visit and check out their other dishes.
Be the first to ReplyI came here for dinner with some friends.
The decor of the restaurant and the vibe was very floral and nice. I also found the espresso martini and the lavender gin to be fine. But the food was really terrible. We ordered the pumpkin brioche, crispy potatoes, carpadelle, gnocchi, and the seeded cracker. The seeded cracker and the pumpkin brioche were fine. However, the gnocchi and carpadelle were one of the worst pasta dishes I have ever had. They both tasted the same (some cream sauce with too much lemon) and were too salty. We only had a few bites because they were difficult to eat. The crispy potatoes were so burnt they were visibly black and tasted bitter, but we finished them because we were starving. None of the waiters asked why we had barely touched the pasta. We won't be coming back!

This is why I pay sky-high rates to live in NYC.We started with the Seeded Cracker and a half portion of the mashed cauliflower. Believe the hype about the Seeded Cracker--it's like crack. Haha, get it? I mean, I'm spending time describing a cracker. It's a damn good cracker. A big, crispy, flavorful, healthy, gorgeous piece of crunch. Get it. Don't regret it.The pastas weren't quite as impressive. The Pappardelle was a tad overcooked, though the lemon sauce was nice. The Campanelle had a similar flavor and was a bit more interesting. The special of the day pasta--something in a red wine osso buco sauce--was by far the best, but bizarrely served in a flat plate instead of a bowl and no bread, both of which would've been better for sopping. But the cocktails are the real showstopper. Flowers in everrrrrthing! Try the Cheeky Damson (strong), Thorn in My Side, (less strong), Alpine Spritz (light), and Lavender Pollinator (light like a grandma). Flower Power, y'all!Service was Michelin-level friendly without any of the awkward obsequiousness. Come here before more people discover it.

Came here for brunch today and everything was so delightful and delicious. I had the lentil burger which was very flavorful. The accompanying butter lettuce leaves were so fresh and perfectly dressed. The carafe of mimosas wasn't very special but did the job. We will definitely be back for dinner!
