OMG! This place is so good.
I had to go to the location in New York all the time and have been wanting to go back. So glad to have a location here. Very tasty.@angelepatino
Be the first to ReplyI wish they would open more locations.
I'm glad that I was able to try Ippudo again on the West Coast as I had only tried it in New York. The broth for the Karaka was super flavorful and super satisfying. The spicy level could have been turned up a notch, but I liked to enjoy the flavor of the broth. The Karagae was also great, big pieces of chicken and breading more akin to traditional fried chicken. I parked across at the Gelsons and didn't have an issue, but this was at a less busy time of night. YMMV.

... no flakes as stated, clearly didn't put the right amount of ingredients... sauces.. It seems like thier cutting a lot of ingredients, but the price is going up.Ramen/ soup is cold, and noodles are still hard. This is the last time we're dining here, such a waste of money for this quality of food.
Be the first to Replydelicious and great service.
next time I'm in town i will be back with an appetite! We had the Ramen, cucumbers, pork buns and Ginoza all three were stellar, the broth was complexed and rich, the noodles were perfection and the toppings were all solid. The buns were really good, kind of hoped the portion would be larger but the taste was top notch. Next the Pot stickers were cooked to perfection, they had a nice pan fry and the dipping sauce was delicious. Finally the cucumbers were plates beautifully and were fresh and tasty.

Having been to the one in New York and loving it I was ELATED To find out there was one in LA. With the rain the past few days we found the perfect time to go. If you g here, absolutely get the buns and of course the ramen. You can't go wrong with any of the ramens or the buns. Wish this location had sushi too. Service is a bit slow.

Ippudo is one of my favorite ramen places to eat in Japan! The Ippudo here in LA is pretty close, but definitely not the same. The broth is very light, yet creamy and delicious, the chashu is tender and melts in your mouth and you can't forget to add the half cooked egg that is sooooooooo good! But it the little things, everything else is meh. They shouldn't be so cheap on the bamboo shoots, the green onions, etc... But the thing I was most disappointed in was that they didn't have any bean sprouts w/ this slightly spicy oil! In Japan the have have it on the tables and you can eat as much of it as you want! It's sooo good and goes well with the ramen. I would rather have that than the other "Americanized" additions like the fries. Why do you have fries at a ramen shop?!? Oh and the gyoza (pot stickers) are way over priced. $10 for 5 tiny gyoza is ridiculous! Should be 10 gyoza for $5.Over all, the ramen was good, but don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. Everything is just way over priced. Ended up spending about $150 to feed a family of 5. 5 ramen, 2 gyoza, 5 eggs, 2 kaidama. In Japan would have under $100 easy. I'll just have to keep looking for something better and cheaper.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly staff and no wait on a Saturday night was a plus.
Street parking was not too hard to find.As far as the ramen - I tried the modern ramen and it was pretty tasty with just the right amount of kick. Only thing is I wish the broth was hotter. It was kind of luke warm which was disappointing - other wise good overall.

Delicious vegetarian ramen! Very filling and the vegetable buns were also great! Staff was really amazing and I did not have to wait long for the food.
Be the first to ReplyI like their outdoor seating.
the broth of the noodles taste clean and not fattening. I also like that they have different noodles textures that I can choose from.

Drove pretty far to come here after hearing Ippudo has opened in LA and left pretty disappointed. The flavors are way off compare to traditional Ippudo over at Asia. The service was strange, I would describe it as the opposite of your traditional ramen service. and kitchen was really focused on deliveries versus indoor dining. I ordered creamy rich broth but it taste regular to me. I am full though and it tasted ok. Would not come back.

.. well, flavor. If you've been to the NY one you know how distinct it is.Nice staff, a bit pushy on the order as far as trying to get you to order more though pleasant. The cucumber is just a cucumber - seriously. Don't expect a life changing experience.Same with the buns and unfortunately, the ramen. OK at its best. Missing the unique umami flavor they are know for.Can pass.

Love in a bun! So happy with my first experience here! Had the veggie bun and ordered another right away. SO GOOD!! What a pleasant surprise, I'll be back with my wife and son!!
Be the first to ReplySince the pandemic, I've ordered take out from Ippudo.
Now that they are open for seating, I celebrated my birthday there! It was wonderful and the staff made it much more enjoyable! I appreciate that they were positive, attentive, and easy going. I will definitely return soon!

This is perhaps the best ramen I have eaten in the United States. Ippudo is a ramen chain in Japan and to be honest, the ramen here is dull in comparison to Japan, but that does not mean we should raise the standard so high that it is intangible. Eating here certainly was delightful.
Be the first to ReplyI have been a crazy fun of Hakata Nagahama ramen and Ippudo
I have been a crazy fun of Hakata Nagahama ramen and Ippudo is one of my most favorite shops in Japan. But I was so disappointed about quality and service of this place. The soup was lukewarm and some of noodle was burnt by the pot. Unbelievable. My wife almost stopped eating.I am sorry but I would never come this place again. And please do not think it is a typical or best Hakata ramen. There is much much better shop in Japan and in south California. When I went to this place around 5pm on Saturday, there was only one other couple of customers, and the shop worked on two other orders to go. In this expensive place in most hungry hours? I would like to think that only their choice of place was wrong and the quality and the service have deteriorated because of less customers and still Ippudo itself is good ramen shop that I loved.I am sorry for my comments.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the very popular ramen place in Japan.
The first time I had it was in Hong Kong so I decided to give it a try in LA. The ramen was indeed good and the soup base was very tasty especially the tonkotsu. However, be prepared it is not cheap but they are known to be more expensive side. My husband and I spend almost $60 for two bowls of ramen with additional sides and noodles. But the starting price is about $15 per bowl. Also, they have great condiments like crushed sesame and vinegar. Will come back again, its one of the best in Hollywood.

I thought the ramen and buns were ok. Personally I prefer thicker and chewier noodles. The ramen was a little on the bland side.I also didn't expect the pork bun to have mayo. I would have ordered without it if I noticed it on the menu.Nothing was wrong with the service and I was quickly seated outside.

Ramen is alright, nothing special in my opinion and the sides are ridiculously over priced. What ever happened to the Santa Monica location ??
Be the first to ReplyOkay noodle and bad service.
I visited this place right aftre watching a movie in WestHollywood. I was worried about the parking situation but there was a parking spot in Santa Monica blvd. I ordered Shiromaru classic and when it was delivered, I didn't see the black mushrooms on top of the noodles like I saw on the menu. When I asked about that, the chef came out and told us that they are out of mushroom. No problem, that happens... but it would be nice to be notified when I order. The chef asked if I would like the corn instead. I felt like the ramen was okay and corn was not fresh. Anyways when I saw the check in the end, I realized there was a extra charge for the corn!! They took that out after I complained, but that was a very unpleasant and tiring experience. Won't come back again.

Great service and each dish came out right after the next which for me is HUGE! Happy I found this place. Looking forward to coming back again.
