Give this human her flowers!
Woah, I just wanted to give the biggest shout-out to Mikayla at the front desk. Amazing support, friendly personality, and great follow-up throughout the stay. She helped organize an early check-in (which is hard to do at this hotel), which was incredibly helpful given I arrived at 9 am (insert tears!).

A superb decor defined by contemporary comfort. The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating, however I will say the attentiveness of the housekeeping staff at night is lackluster as I called 3 times for towels at 10pm, 10:20pm, and again at 11 and never got towels. The bed was lovely and the thermostat was very potent to deliver. I did not enjoy the fact the shower did not have a door so the cool air from the room did make for a bizarre hot shower experience. The location is wonderful but the small driveway deserves greater attention by the bellmen to get drivers out of the driveway so others can enter.

My friends and I were staying at La peer and we were greeted by such a grand soul ! Mikayla was so pleasant and fun to chat with ! I love how she really is interested in our trip plans . She is so genuine, and that’s such a rare quality to find in people.

Noise starts at 5am. Rooms are not soundproof. Bad service. Rooms not in line with star rating. Only positive is the location. Stay elsewhere if you want to sleep. No earplugs provided (probably bc they don’t help anyway) I had to sleep on the bathroom floor.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Kimpton La Peer. Everything from the kind staff, clean rooms, the gym, room service, and the gift shop. It’s located in a prime area. I can’t wait to stay here again!

I just wanted to write this to let everyone know how amazing the first interaction went and how it made my stay super enjoyable! I just stayed here last weekend for a quick trip and let me tell you Mikayla was great! She was super fun and positive and made me feel sooo important and welcomed! It was so refreshing to meet someone so warm and inviting as the first person you see and in a time where everyone is so overwhelmed! Big thanks to her for getting my vacation off to a great start

I travel to Los Angeles on a regular basis. I have tried different hotels, but I always come back to Kimpton La Peer. The staff is friendly and treats me as a family member coming home. All of my requests are met immediately and special perks are appreciated. The happy hour complimentary wine at 5pm is a nice relaxing way to unwind, and the coffee bar in the morning is plentiful with all the extras. The rooms are comfortable and elegant. Thank you Michael, for always making my experience top notch!

After a delayed checkin (my room wasn't ready until after 6pm) and a very slow checkin I was rewarded with a suite. Well worth the wait in the bar. Loved the room and the location is great. I had noted the reviews on noise with construction next door and was placed on the other side of the property. Breakfast was included and glad for the experience. The breakfast service was 10/10. The hotels taxes are crazy (welcome to the USA) and a poor and unfriendly checkout were my only faults. I'd definitely stay here again!

Le Peer Hotel is physically a lovely boutique hotel. Nice rooms, on site amenities, and location. But bring your white noise machine. Really. Every morning at 630am, a full construction crew showed up to work on the new hotel going up next door. By loud, I mean hammering, banging, dropping rebarb, the horn of a giant crane, and the yelling of the construction crew to/at each other. This went on until about 4/430pm. At night, the frequent sound of sirens added to the noise since Cedars Sinai is close by. This would have been tolerable if the daytime noise wasn't so abrupt. It was tough to get rest. Hopefully the hotel next door is done soon but looks to be a good 6 months or more of work pending. May want to ask about this when considering making reservations. It was rough.
Be the first to ReplyGood location, okay for a kimpton
Requested early check-in when I booked. Arrived at 1pm, they said it would be ready soon. Three hours later, at 4pm, the room was ready. They could just say they aren’t able to honor the early check in and I could’ve made plans to do something in those three hours. I was offered no water, drink etc. from the front desk. Instead, I went to the courtyard restaurant to grab something to eat. The turkey BLTG is not actually a turkey sandwich as it’s described on the menu but a turkey burger. (It’s on both the lunch and dinner menu, where the lunch menu describes a sandwich and dinner menu describes a burger. You should probably fix that.) The server was kind and friendly. Housekeeping never made the bed or did anything besides replenish towels which was odd. I don’t need a full room cleaning but making the bed seems standard, and most days we were out of the room from 10am to 10pm. Overall the location is great in West Hollywood. A new Great White location opened up just around the corner, coffee and shopping nearby. Craig’s and Olivetta across the street too. It wasn’t quite up to the Kimpton standard that my sister and I have experienced before in Austin or Philly, it was overall average.
Be the first to ReplyGreat hotel, great location
My stay was following a conference for one night. I wish I had more time! The rooms were great- super spacious with lots of light, an oversized bathroom, Nespresso with more than enough pods, and plenty of water cartons (eco friendly).
Great restaurant with an upbeat vibe, a cute boutique on the property, and the location is perfect! Walking distance to all the best restaurants and bars. I couldn’t have been more pleased and will return!
Close to vegan restaurants and the amenities are excellent!
I have stayed at this hotel twice and both times were great! This hotel is very modern and it’s on a bit of a side street so it’s mostly quiet. The first time I stayed it was on a weekend and the second time it was during the week. The weekend was a little more wild because they were having a good pop up in the valet driveway ones of the nights, but during the week it was so quiet and I hardly saw any other guests. They do change a resort fee, but it gives you $15/day for breakfast and $10/day for ride share credits. I did get the avocado toast for $20 one of the days and it was nice… but maybe not worth $20. The rooms have HUGE bathtubs with a separate shower, my 5 year old was literally swimming in it! The valet has EV charging, so that was an added bonus. It’s also right next door to gracias madre, one of my favorite vegan restaurants. It’s a great hotel!

The Kimpton La Peer sits hidden away, perfectly situated in between Melrose & Santa Monica, 5 minutes from the bars of Sunset & the glitz of Beverly Hills.
The hotel facade is unassuming, but once in the courtyard the decor elements begin to reveal themselves and are distinctly Kimpton. Inside, the lobby and communal spaces are nice places to be, very relaxing & comfortable vibe. Just off the main lounge is Issima restaurant, the pool & outdoor bar which all have a similar, upscale yet tranquil atmosphere.
We stayed on IHG reward nights, so budget wise i can't comment as our entire stay was gratis. However, when i have used redeemed points in the past at other hotels I have often been given the lowest grade room and a shoestring service. This is not the case at La Peer, we were upgraded upon arrival and the staff were attentive & helpful throughout.
Our Signature King room was beautifully decorated with natural wood and a neutral palette, a welcome escape after a day exploring LA. Two things that stood out was the ridiculously comfortable bed, and the spacious, spa-like bathroom. Not so great was the lack of a proper dressing table, and there wasn't much storage space for a weeks worth of clothes. The room was easily large enough to incorporate both of these additions.
We used the bar a few times (breakfast is served there too) and the drinks were fantastic, but more-so the staff, again were incredible and looked after us throughout our stay. In particular Alan and his espresso martinis, legend!
Thanks for having us!
NOT WORTH THE MONEY
We stayed here for my 30th birthday. The hotel is so loud and music was blaring until 2am. Paper thin walls and the smell of marijuana was very prevalent in the halls. The room itself is nice and comfortable bed, but we paid about $700 for 2 nights. So disappointed. Horrible service as well. We asked for towels two different times, and were not brought them. If you want the five star experience, this is NOT it.
Be the first to ReplyAverage, overpriced and better WeHo options
I’ve been trying for years to get a rate that I felt would be worth the location and prestige of the Kimpton brand, and was ably to book a room in the high $200/nt with a Black Friday deal Kimpton was running. It was..ok at best.
The good: location location location. Two short blocks to the Abbey, half block to Melrose and a short walkable drive to Beverly Center. The hotel shows nicely in the lobby but all else was average.
Fast elevators.
Valet staff and service outstanding albeit understaffed at times with only one working. Has a free EV port the valet can plug your car into if you are electric or hybrid. Loved that.
Not good:
Front desk staff rarely there when you are looking for them. Not sure where they go but the desk is often empty. Four out if six visits, including check in, I had to ask someone in another department to find them.
Room generally was nice, but if you are an IHG elite (I’m platinum) expect nothing. I got a room that overlooked a courtyard about 8X20 in size staring at other rooms.
Text requests that are offered at checkin were not monitored at least twice for me.
Restaurant service very slow, even when not busy.
Could not even as a guest get a table at the fine dining restaurant for dinner, even trying to book several days in advance.
I won’t stay here again, particularly if the price is more than what I paid. In fact, if it was the same price the .Montrose and Chamberlain are much better options of the Weho larger boutiques.
I’m starting to think the same of most Kimptons since IHG acquired them. They show well but once you get to know them, a Holiday Inn Express would provide about the same service at a better price point.
Perfect Hollywood Stay
The location is perfect for seeing a Hollywood show or getting breakfast at the Beachwood Cafe. Staff was very friendly and gave us a free upgrade to e Hollywood sign room. Room was clean and very quiet. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were modern and spotless. Hamilton was playing a block away and we caught a Roosevelt and Bilderbuch concert at the Fonda Theatre. All are easily walkable. We ate at the associated restaurant Jane Q. The food and service was perfect. Overall the best stay we have had as a family in the Hollywood area.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed at the end of our stay.
I left a laundry bag with some of my belongings after I checked out. As soon as I realized it was missing, I called and had to call numerous times over the next 2 days. I did not feel as anyone cared to find my lost clothing and they never did find it. Disappointed in the lack of concern.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and great room!
We stayed with the dog and a baby and the room was excellent in terms of the size, cleanliness, and having everything we need.
We especially loved the shower/tub bathroom which was perfect.
We asked for a few extras during our stay, and the staff was on top of it and delivered everything efficiently.
Staff was friendly. We did encountered some issue with noise from a nearby room and the hotel staff was accommodating and provided a credit for the inconvenience. The staff also followed up upon check-out to let us know the action that was taken for the issue we encountered.
Not to mention this hotel is a few minutes walk away from all the restaurants and bars so definitely recommend it!
Expected a treat, got a motel 6
For this hotel to be classed with the Peninsula is an absolute joke! I wanted to treat my elderly mother on her one and only trip to LA. I booked this on Hotwire and expected the best of the best. When we walked in, we overlooked the overpriced valet because we figured that was standard in Los Angeles near Beverly Hills. Check in was smooth and the front desk was nice. The elevator was filthy both walls and floors. I again overlooked if thinking maybe they had a lot of kids there that day. We got to the room and it was pretty and different. I took pics to prepare to write a great review. I opened the closet and was disgusted by a robe that had mildew stains all over it. Then I thought about the elevator and wondered how clean this place really was. I turned around and there were handprints all over the wall. The room also had a musty odor. We were leaving after dropping our bags and I told the front desk. They said they would waive the valet and refresh the room. When we got back the robe was changed and the walls were wiped. But as we settled in, the bar below was thumping loudly. The usb charger in the nightstand was pushed through. The induction charger didn’t work. There were only 2 towels for 3 people. One of the items for sale, a charger, had been opened, used and put back. The fridge was so stocked with for sale items that you couldn’t fit anything in it. There was cigarette odor coming in from somewhere. The internet was ridiculously slow. But the bed was soft.
Be the first to ReplyLoyalty? Not by the General Manager
I booked through Hotwire and stayed for seven nights. Hotwire it seems is treated very differently as the Housekeeper told me I was not entitled to turndown or water. Due to my error, I needed another night and requested to speak to the GM to beg him but was yelled at and rudely asked to leave by the General Manager Nick Rimedio. First time I have been yelled at for asking to stay another night and spend more money! He also threatened to charge me a late fee if I did not go immediately. Nice hospitality as I just spent over $2,000 there.
In addition, my room for the first two nights over the pool was extremely noisy so Amelia the front office mgr. was kind enough to move me. Housekeeping was not good however. They left a swiffer and a dirty rag in the room after cleaning. I took photos and sent to them but the next day it was still there. My room was never cleaned until after 6pm each day. Communications between departments don't seem to exist.
I should also note there is no in-room coffee or tea for Hotwire customers. Apparently "more important guests" get coffee according to the housekeeper.
The fitness area we used each morning and it had no towels or drinking cups most days. I guess not important enough for Nick to follow-up with.
Well Nick, you have some work to do! Time to come out of your office! You lost a loyal customer for IHG also!
Lastly, Ashley at Reception was polite, helpful, but of course restricted and not empowered as a result of upper management.
