This place was so delicious.
I highly recommend this place. Came in on a Wednesday and this place was packed! So many people here although the wait was not long at all. Great food an a large menu so everyone got their own dish. Although it was packed the service was amazing. I strongly recommend coming to this place if you are nearby.

Spending time with some of my gal friends after work, and never experiencing vegan food, this place really made me think twice on converting into a vegan. The atmosphere and decor really bought the Tulum/Mexico vibes which truly was spectacular and the prices are not bad at all. The staff were super attentive and friendly, even though it was very packed on a Friday evening but they make sure you're catered to. I ordered the nachos as an appetizer and those were the BEST nachos I ever had. The spices and sauces were so delicious so definitely try this when you're with a group or on a date, very shareable. For my entree, the chorizo burrito was to die for and it's so filling. For $15 I barely could eat half of it and took the other half home. Finally for dessert, I chose the mango lime pie; I wish it was a bigger portion because it was just too spectacular in flavors. I will definitely be coming again! :)
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
I realize how silly it is to crave a vegan Mexican restaurant in Hudson yards when visiting New York, but it is what it is. Their nachos are made of dreams. Tried the new cinnamon hot tea and it was delicious. My mom loved the beet and pumpkin empanada, and their tacos are decent. Just get the nachos and you won't regret it.

I've always heard great things about Jajaja, so I tried it one evening with a friend. This location is hidden inside a Whole Foods so it took longer than I'm proud to admit to find it. The food was pretty and colorful and had a decent amount of flavor, but it very much felt vegan. I feel like it's a good option if you need to eat vegan, but it's not great for Mexican food. I feel like this location also just felt a bit "food courty' to me, so maybe I need to try another location
Be the first to ReplyWOW! 10/10 recommend.
The food was all outstanding, service was quick and delightful, and the ambiance was outstanding. Highly recommend ordering as much as you can and splitting with the table - I loved EVERYTHING! Empanada was the biggest hit but it was a tough choice because everything was outstanding.
Be the first to ReplyTried this place because we needed a quick meal.
It was inside of a Whole Foods, and the interior was modern and clean. I got a burrito, which was honestly pretty average. The meat was standard, if not borderline bland, but the other ingredients in the burrito were solid, such as the rice and vegetables. The dipping sauce with some flavorless sour cream (I usually like sour cream). Pretty good place if you need something quick on the go, but I don't know if this average of a burrito was worth $15.

I've been wanting to try Jajaja Mexicana for years but somehow never made it until recently. Stopped in for lunch while in the area and unbeknownst to me, this location is inside Whole Foods!I got the chorizo tacos, side of chips and salsa, and a cocktail. It was outstanding. You might even forget the entire menu is plant based because it's definitely satisfying for meat eaters. Reasonably priced at $32 for those 3 items but I would have loved if my order came with 3 tacos instead of 2.Food takes a bit to come out. In a regular restaurant with table service (like the other locations), this would feel normal. But because this is in Whole Foods and order at the counter style, it kind of feels like a long wait. Nevertheless, lunch was delicious and well worth it. Would highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place located on the whole food food court.
Drinks are potent and the vegan food is incredible. I've tried both locations and they equally are delightful
Be the first to ReplyAmazing vegan food.
Everything tasted so well. I can't wait until I'm hungry to come back. The drink menu is extensive and really good. I really enjoyed the recommendations from our server, Pedro. Super kind, really knows the menu. Service was fast and thorough. They accomodated us really quick without a reservation for a Saturday night.

This review is for the churro only!Located conveniently in Whole Foods, this place is great for vegans as their entire menu is vegan. However, the churros did not live up to expectations. They're nearly $10 for four very small short pieces of churro. They were a bit too oily for me, almost as if the dough had over soaked the oil to the point where the inside was soggy. The dipping sauce was okay. Compared to churros I've had in the past, this one fell flat. I split mine with a friend, and we still weren't able to finish all four pieces. Price and quality did not match - hoping my experience was just an off day!

There are cockroaches!!! I went to grab a bite to eat this weekend after shopping at Whole Foods and sat at the last table near the exit door. After a few minutes I noticed a clump of roaches crawling on the floor near the mats behind the bar. I've been to this location a handful of times and it's truly a hit or miss. The staff doesn't appear happy to be be there and doesn't greet you. But I didn't expect to see roaches! God knows how many health code violations are being broken. Please stay away!

My friend picked this place for dinner yesterday and I'm so glad she introduced me to Jajaja. And who can get over that name?? The food was AMAZING here. This was some of the best vegan food I had, it's a must try. Plus, the prices were very reasonable, $50 for coffee, tacos, nachos with guac, and a burrito. Servings were HUGE, like enough to probably feed 5 people instead of the 2 of us. They've been awarded a Michelin star for the sustainability chapter. They were missing the charcoal sauce at this location though. The service was on point for the most part, they are very clean here. The bathroom and the place seemed like it could use a little up keeping but it's alright. There's multiple stalls so there's no lines.

my friend's card got declined multiple times and we ended up saying we did not want the lemonade, after two minutes the lemonade came to our table for the grand price of 17$. Non alcoholic and it tasted super bitter. We ended up giving the lemonades to homeless people we found. 0/100

I got the quesadilla, nachos, and tacos (all of which are Jajaja's popular dishes). However, I was quite disappointed as the original restaurant had really great reviews. The food was quite underwhelming and pricy, totaling close to $70. Maybe because the food was in takeout style? I'm not sure, but maybe the food tastes better at the restaurant.

Was not aware this was a vegan place before we went in and have to say it was absolutely delicious. We got the nachos with added guacamole. Presentation was nice, service was quick, and they had free self service water - which for our 1 day trip to NY was a godsend. Would definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyI'm not a vegan and not the biggest fan of Mexican food per
I'm not a vegan and not the biggest fan of Mexican food per se. But a friend who is vegan recommended for our daughter, who is vegan, for her visit to NYC last year. My husband, who isn't vegan but loves Mexican, took his daughter (the vegan) and both couldn't stop raving about it.So my non-vegan Mexican food loving husband convinced me, the non-Vegan, so-so liking Mexican food person, to go for a bite after a movie the other night inside the Hudson Yards Whole Foods. And well, Jajaja was ya-ya-ya good. I have come to appreciate vegan food over the years. We both had two different kinds of taco duos and then split them ... so essentially, we both had four different tacos. The tacos were very filling, and I couldn't finish them all. But for the most part they were delicious. Wasn't crazy about all of it, but definitely get the appeal. It's a casual eating experience given where it is and the small size of its seating area. It kind of gives that food court feeling which isn't my thing.Still, you definitely can't go wrong if you love vegan food, and absolutely if you like vegan Mexican food.
Be the first to ReplyWhat is the hype on these burritos??? I had to dice some
What is the hype on these burritos??? I had to dice some tomato and avocado just to eat what I did in this picture. I ordered Ubereats, so thankfully I was able to top it up a notch with home ingredients but this was so NOT worth the money. Nothing fresh here. Peas in the rice? Obviously just tossing frozen rice in with some (also frozen) meat substitute, pouring on insanely salty sauce and calling it a day. Really would like to see some effort. Not a single black bean was found in either of the two burritos we ordered. This could have absolutely slapped with freshly prepared spanish rice, soft black beans and crisp pico de gallo. Absolute fail and honestly disrespectful to burritos everywhereEdit: the menu also states guacamole comes in these??? nada. Convinced most of these reviews are purchased.
Be the first to ReplyGreat quick serve Mexican spot located on the upstairs food
Great quick serve Mexican spot located on the upstairs food court level of Whole Foods. The Buffalo chicken burrito is loaded with toppings. The Chorizo burrito is smothered in an amazing sauce combination and stuffed with rice and onions (definitely a carb lovers dream).
Be the first to ReplyWhen I had the fish tacos.
I still today believe it was actual fish. Are you guys sure this place is all vegan???I remember biting into it and seeing the fish meat. Am I missing something here?
Be the first to ReplySuper delicious Mexican vegan food.
I got the coconut quesadilla and the black beans and the rest of my party got the pictured food including guac and the street corn. The quesadillas were super flavorful and I wish I had ordered 2!
Be the first to ReplyWe were looking for vegan options in NYC and found Jajaja
We were looking for vegan options in NYC and found Jajaja in a review on YouTube. The location Inside of WholeFoods took a little time for use to find, but the hunt was worth it. We tried the nachos, tacos, enchilada and horchata. The horchata was the only thing I might not order again, it was just ok, and didn't have quite the right balance of flavor of horchata that I'm used to - maybe it wasn't sweet enough, but it also didn't seem to have enough cinnamon, and there was another flavor in it that didn't belong that I couldn't put my finger on. The nachos were the star, as was the vegan chorizo taco. The salsa verse was a tad too sour, but everything else was excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. The area had a unique decor from the rest of the Whole Foods market so it felt like it's own separate space. Everything seemed very clean and sanitized: Covid procedures were being followed from what we observed. We'd definitely visit again. Nachos were the star of the show!
Be the first to Replyovercharged and no vaccination check.
We went to this place based on the reviews and past experience at another location. It was not crowded and it is located inside a Whole Foods. We ordered 3 Tacos each for 2 people. You pay at the counter and then sit down. No one asked to see our vaccination status, even though there were signs posted that they would check. After the food came, we were discussing that it tasted good and was well priced given the location. ย As per the Menu the Tacos were $8 for 2 and $3 for a third one = $11 for 3. I had paid $28.30+15% tip at the counter (=$32.54) and opted for no receipt on their checkout device. This did not seem to be right, since we should have paid $22 + tax (8.85%) = $23.95. So, I went and talked to the checkout person. She rang up 3 tacos and informed me that it was $13. I pointed out that this did not match the printed menu or ย the menu on the board above the checkout. She was dismissive and said that the menu was wrong in that case since the prices in her device were correct. I pointed out that this was not a good situation and they should fix the menu prices to reflect what they were going to charge. Her reply was she will pass my comment on to the management. I have never run into a restaurant with such deceptive pricing policies. We and likely most customers rarely check the details of the bill so likely they can get away with this kind of practice.

Be the first to ReplyThis location of Jajaja is located within the Whole Foods
This location of Jajaja is located within the Whole Foods in Hudson yards. This location can be a little difficult to navigate but their staff are always happy to point you in the right direction. Jajaja's food is always delicious - my favorites are their quesadilla, nachos, and the churros! Flavorful whether you're eating in or taking out. Don't miss out on their hot sauces. They have a more casual feel than other Jajaja locations because of where they are located. There are a few booths and tables dedicated to Jajaja within the restaurant, and Whole Foods also has outdoor seating options.

***Quick Service, COVID compliant?, Delicious Food***A bit challenging to find in Whole Foods - I wish there were directional signs. There's decent seating available and they check for vaccination before taking orders. I was a bit confused though because the cashier didn't wear a mask at all. The other issue was how cold it was (I think the ac was right above the seating area) and the lighting was very strong. Otherwise food is like their main restaurant location except in disposable plating.
