Dangerously delicious!!
Great Saturday lunch! We went for 4-courses and every course was dangerously delicious! I consumed more food than I neededโฆ butter chicken being my favourite! The warm gulab jamun was just the perfect finish!

Unfortunately Jamavar did not live up to the standards whatsoever after attempting to amend my booking due to an emergency. I was spoken to very rudely on the phone by the so-called manager who informed me that I was not able to amend so close to the booking, although that is not the issue. The issue was her rude tone and terrible and unwelcoming attitude while explaining it. After telling her that her tone was rude, she disregarded that and continued to speak in the same manner. I was once a loyal customer to Jamavar, but after this disappointing experience I would choose a restaurant where the staff are kinder and value customer service.

What a lovely place to lunch. Superb service and atmosphere with amazing food - my dining partner and I were very very pleased with the while thing. Best butter chicken I have ever eaten and the potatoes were off the charts too! Highly highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favourite restaurants in London- & the best & most gracious service
I came here solo to try the set game menu which formally expired at the end of January. It was a week before the formal end date but it rapidly became apparent that - on that day at least - the chef simply didnโt have enough of the ingredients to make it worthwhile. I explained that Iโd come especially for the set game menu - and mused that perhaps I should leave. The waiter look like he was about to cry. One of the managers came over to persuade me to have the regular set menu. He was so charming that I agreed - and took the wine flight as well. The food was as delicious as ever. When I asked for the bill at the end, the waiter explained that the 2 managers (1 English & 1 Indian) had agreed that I should not be charged for the six course set menu, circa ยฃ100 !! I paid for the wine flight so the restaurant washed its face. Rarely have I encountered such a stylish and generous gesture - thank you- I just wish I knew the two managersโ names ! I am now a loyal customer for life.

As part of a surprise birthday trip to London my partner booked this restaurant for one of our evening meals. As it holds a Michelin star, we were expecting something special. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We started off sharing two dishes from the small plates menu; the scallops were very nice and the sauce didnโt mask the scallopsโ delicate flavour. The lobster dish was unexceptional, with the lobster flavour completely overwhelmed by the sauce. For mains, we ordered the Dum Nalli Biryani, which was basically pieces of lamb, lots of rice, and a boiled egg, all hidden under a pastry crust which was theatrically removed by the waiter. It was served with a raita. There were supposed to be crispy onions included in the main dish but I donโt remember seeing any vegetables at all. The flavour was rather bland. The other main was butter chicken โ chicken pieces swimming in a pleasant sauce, but again, nothing outstanding. Based on these mediocre tasting dishes, we decided not to bother with dessert. We'd had expectations of exciting, spice filled dishes but ended up feeling disappointed. Weโve enjoyed better meals at our local curry restaurant for a fraction of the price.

I went for the tasting menu and it was so overwhelming. Each course was a treat and the the portions were so generous. I couldn't finish my main course and they were even kind enough to pack the left over food for me. Overall it was money spend well.

Had a fabulous lunch with my friends. The food was really good and of generous quantity. The ambience and service were great too.

Together with five other business friends, we took part in a congress in London. As a "London" connoisseur, I was responsible for the supporting programme. As the group consisted of vegetarians and carnivores, I suggested Indian food in a sophisticated setting for the first evening. All the participants raved about the food and drinks and everyone took a business card for their next visit with their partner. The evening was a complete success and the fellow travellers are still raving about it. In 2024, the travelling group will use the congress as an alibi and focus solely on the gastronomic experience. This restaurant has already been finalised as a destination.

Had dinner at Jamavar restaurant win London with my wife . Hands down best Indian food we have ever eaten. The food was absolutely delicious , the service was impeccable, and the choices and recommendations by the waitress was perfect and on point . Itโs well deserving of a Michelin star restaurant and a must for Indian food lovers visiting London

Love Restaurant, it's value for money we had tasting menu ,nice flavours in food great service best staff in London
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and very rushed lunchtime taster menu service. Some highlights in the taster menu.
Ate here with friends at lunchtime. We all chose the taster menu. There were some real highlights being the stone (sea) bass and the soft shell crab. I thought most of the rest was disappointing for a M* restaurant at this price point. The six courses were all served in ~90 minutes!! We had plenty drinks which doubled the ยฃ105 pp food bill to ยฃ210 pp.

Had very low expectations after reading all the reviews, but it turned out perfect. Amazing service from our waitress Fareka, food & wine both explained in detail very happy will be returning soon in hopes she would be our server again
Be the first to ReplyBoth A Service Charge And A Tip?
Few would be churlish enough to quibble with the quality of the food here, but unfortunately some of the staff are churlish enough to ask for a tip on top of the already steep 15% service charge. Beware of such wide-boy practices which are unworthy of an august Michelin-starred establishment and which might mar an otherwise unblemished experience.

Exceeded expectations, every dish was packed with flavour and extremely well-executed - the chicken tikka for example melted in the mouth. The lunchtime/early evening tasting menu is great value, and was more than enough to satisfy this very hungry diner. Highlights were the starters and tandoori dishes (especially the stone bass), but the curries were also very good. Didn't think I could manage a dessert, but they forced a complementary one on me anyway as it was my birthday, which was a fantastic touch (and absolutely delicious). The cocktails are well worth delving into, even the virgin ones were great. All the staff are very cooperative special thank to Chirag for helping us to choosing right food .
Be the first to ReplyPunishing me for lost baggage by airport control
I came to this restaurant to have a nice dinner after a stressful day of losing my baggage at the airport. This restaurant does not want to understand that a traveling guest has lost their bags and does not want pants and refusing to serve. A dress code is understandable but a restaurant like this should understand that if i have enough money to fly to london and stay in most expensive hotel that they can take an exception for this truce of situation

Absolutely delicious . What a wonderful Sunday lunch . Staff were attentive and efficient . Food was beautifully presented and a taste to match . Very reasonable for Mayfair . Looking forward to returning soon.
Be the first to ReplyThe Best Indian Restaurant In The UK
When I last visited Jamavar I predicted it would gain a Michelin star, which it did and which it fully deserves. The food here is more or less perfect, great flavour and great use of spice. Even desserts are a very high standard in Jamavar. Service was attentive and extremely friendly. A faultless Indian dining experience that should be visited by anyone visiting London in search for the best Indian food the country has to offer. I canโt wait to return. A must visit.

Never disappoints us! We love the Butter Chicken and Vegetable biryani especially but whatever we order is always delicious.
Be the first to ReplyBeware the 48 hour cancelation fee of 100 pounds for two
I am all in favour of restaurants charging customers for a no-show. I get it, they have an empty table which they probably donโt fill. However, to have a 48 hour cancelation period, especially during COVID, and be 50 pounds per head, it taking this good idea and making it a whole new and unfair source of additional revenues. I called at lunch to cancel dinner because my wife is ill, maybe COVID. We donโt want to infect the whole restaurant so we stayed home. No excuse is acceptable to Jamavar however, 100 quid gone, and I am sure they resold the table given how hard it is to get in. Simple exploitation that gives the industry a bad name. Yes, I agreed to the terms, but they were unreasonable. Buyer beware - wolves at Jamavar.
Be the first to ReplyFlavour flavour flavour!!
Wow! This was our first visit to a Michelin starred Indian restaurant and I really wasnโt sure what to expect. We started with some fantastic cocktails and ordered from the (very reasonable) four course lunch menu (ยฃ49 for four Michelin starred courses in the heart of Mayfair!) Honestly was wondering if we would come out hungry! We not not have worried! Four courses of absolute perfection. The flavours were just incredible. Just the right amount of heat (although Iโd be cautious of the tikka chicken dish if you donโt like hot food), impeccably balanced spices and exquisitely cooked food. I was glad that my husband and I chose different dishes so we got to try even more! We shared the curries at the end which was great. We were super full and actually struggled a little with dessert! If I went back I think I would skip on dessert and get some extra naan to mop up all of the delicious curry!! Service was top notch as youโd expect. There were some reasonably priced wines on offer and my husband really enjoyed the IPA.
Be the first to ReplyHands up, we surrender
We were prepped by other reviews to be shuffled downstairs upon arriving on time for a 630 reservation, not their busiest time. Sure enough, we had to push to be seated in the brighter main floor area which had open tables. Alwasy a poor way to start a fine dining experience. The meals were nothing extraordinary, though the recommended prawn appetizer was noteworthy. Our third Michelin star experience of the trip, the service was well below the level of other comparable restaurants, largely due to a lower front of house staff/patron ratio. Amazonico, a block away, was a far superior experience. Try that instead.
