Culinary excellence with a comfortable atmosphere! I always get imposter syndrome in fancy restaurants, but here I felt comfortable and relaxed. The staff were superb at explaining the menu and not making you feel less than. Everything about this restaurant was steps above anything/anywhere I've been before. I didn't get a picture of my husbands duck dish, but it was divine! And I am picky eater so I didn't expect to like it!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent ambiance and service.
The food is excellent, but the portions were teeny tiny, similar to other fancy restaurants. I enjoyed my visit, but am not likely to return.
Be the first to ReplyInnovative cuisine, haute atmosphere and impeccable service.
Be prepared to pay for it.

We liked a couple of the dishes. Others needed help. The Brussels and Beet dishes were good. The Cavatelli was odd. My partner took one bite and said nope! I kept eating it. It was oddly sour in flavor. Towards the end of eating the dish I didn't care for it either. Also ordered the Pork loin Katsun excited to try all the sauces (bulldog and kewpie mayo). How they plated the dish was dime sized dollops around the dish. 2 of each sauce around the outside of the dish was no where near enough, seemed super cheep. Would have been ok if they drizzled the sauces on top of let's say half the Katsu and you used the dollops around the edge for a little more. For a $25 dish you have to nail it, which it did not. Lastly we ended the night with chocolate Crunch Cake for dessert. It was extremely odd. There's cake on the bottom, mouse on top and in the middle there's a layer of a strangely textured oat cake which lends to a stale, tooth sum texture( not crunchy). We eat around it. The best part was the dish was that it was sprinkled with a crunchy crumble around the ice cream. My suggestion is get rid of the oat layer and have it be mouse and chocolate cake, ice cream and dump a lot of what ever that crumble was and it would be a winner. And maybe change the name of the dish. Overall wanted to like the place but it was extremely expensive for what we got.
Be the first to ReplyLoved the ambience.
My fave ambience in Asheville. Jazz vinyl playing. Hipster decor. Very friendly staff. Meal was pricey for what we ordered. Mushrooms were great fun and onion soup was heavy but yum. Loved the homemade rose grapefruit soda. Not sweet. Dumplings were ok. Salad was a nice big portion.
Be the first to ReplyA quiet tucked away foodie paradise.
We've always loved every meal we've had but we've especially enjoyed their chef's special meals.

A friend and I ventured here while visiting Asheville on a girls trip. It looked fancy and like a special treat. We were seated at the chef's table so we got to see the action. However, I was surprised at the lack of service. Our waitress was kind of checked out and honestly the price for what we received was less than lack luster. The bread service was four small pieces of really dense bread with some butter for $8. The "schnitzel" was far from authentic. It was thick, highly breaded and the "potato salad" on top was cubed potatoes with tiny bits of relish sprinkled around and a few pieces of cut up Brussels. For $34. I don't understand the price for what I received. The only redeeming quality here was the ice breaker cocktail which was their version of an old fashioned captured inside of an ice cube that they break in front of you. If I ever return to Asheville, I won't be back unfortunately.

The farm to table food was excellent and the service was wonderful. I definitely recommend Jargon and hope to enjoy another meal here before our vacation ends in a few days.
Be the first to ReplyVery delicious spot! Upscale and carefully curated food.
Cocktails were delicious, Eddie- our server was amazing. Such a gentle spirit and very friendly. His suggestions were all very delicious. Food was all local and everything was made in house. The owner walked around and introduced himself and asked if everything was good. You can tell this place is a very well oiled machine with everyone working as a family. Food was made with love.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience here! We went here for our first anniversary and the owner was kind enough to give us some Champaign to celebrate. The place has a great ambiance with nice lighting and a cool little bar. The waitress was very kind a helpful and all of the drinks that we had were unique and delicious. We tried many different dishes, all of which had fresh, local, and unique flavors and ingredients. Start to finish probably one of the best dining experiences that we've ever had!! Definitely check it out!!
Be the first to ReplySpectacular meal.
Every bite was delicious, start to finish. Our server, Reign was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, paced the dinner perfectly, and had great recommendations. Cool ambiance. Super nice owner. Could not recommend more.

I had higher than normal expectations - my friend talked this place up and well, the menu prices of this place makes it a more "special occasion" kind of place, for me at least. I have no problems paying more than I normally do for a meal if you get what you pay for and this place does not disappoint one bit. From the outside it seems that this place would be on the smaller side as far as the dining room goes but that was not the case here. There was plenty of room in the back and they have things set up nicely with tables and use their space in such a way where all the seats are nice and you don't feel cramped when dining here.As far as the food goes, is it pricey? Sure, but you get what you pay for. I was very happy with just about everything I was able to try. I ordered the Cauliflower Soup and Monkfish Entree. Holy moly both were amazing. The soup was seasoned nice, not too hot, not too cold, and was a nice sized portion. The Monkfish entree was probably the best Monkfish meal I have ever had. If there was one small gripe - and I mean I am reaching here - is the portion was a little on the smaller side but this is not a showstopper for me by a long shot. Plus, considering all the other stuff my friends and I shared, I had plenty to eat overall. We ordered dessert to share, the Molé Spiced Financier Cake, Chai Spiced Coconut Pudding, and the Purple Sweet Potato Cheesecake. The Molé cake was my favorite. The coffee here is really nice too, I enjoyed it with dessert. Our server was helpful in telling us the blend they use and where we could get them from (The Beanwerks Coffee Shop down the street).Speaking of service, we all had a very good experience and the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Our server was really great and she made our dining experience all the more better. Whenever I come back to Asheville (hopefully soon), I will def try to come back again.P.S. - Try the Black Pepper Pappardelle, unless you are not okay with rabbit. This was REALLY good...

There were so many lovely details about our dinner at Jargon. The service was friendly without being too much. The dishes were all so uniquely prepared with seeds and light sauces and perfect seasonings. HH and I shared 4 small dishes and the trout main course.
Be the first to ReplyIt is one of the very best restaurants in Asheville.
If you want to experience something special this is definitely the place to go. Georgia

My partner and I visited Asheville last March and one of the highlights was our dinner at Jargon! Particularly incredible was not only the numerous vegan dishes, but how delicious they were! For vegan diners & meat-eaters alike. The service was great -- the staff really understands hospitality. Don't miss it.

I live part of the year in AVL and am familiar with the amazing restaurants our town offers. Jargon was special in terms of the cuisine and our server. The cuisine is unique, favorful and creative. Our server was professional, pleasant and informative. This rating is based solely on the bar who took an unreasonable amount of time to provide our cocktails and wine. We were nearly finished with our meal courses each time when they finally arrived. Very disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber, definitely affected our experience at Jargon.
Be the first to Replyambience was super appealing.
felt like the price for what was served was incongruent, but the service was spectacular, patient, and very communicative.got the wrong order and had something made wrong, couldn't do a remake cause it was the last order of the dish made for the night. they were very apologetic and didn't charge. they had vegan/gf options but it felt limited and i felt like i had to make it very clear that this was something to take into account, and then the order wound up having yogurt. again, very well accommodated and very relaxing environment. the food wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad or poorly made.
Be the first to ReplyDo you want to experience one of the best dining
Do you want to experience one of the best dining experiences in Asheville? We'll look no further. This place was an absolute dream. A symphonic culinary night out with my husband. There is so much love and care going into every aspect of this restaurant. The hosts, wait staff, bartender, chef, and owner were all actively engaged and truly cared about the atmosphere they were cultivating. The decor and music matched the ambiance of a romantic and classy night out. We started off with complimentary champagne for us to celebrate our anniversary (how sweet), followed by a couple of authenticity crafted cocktails. They were delicious! For appetizers we tried the white chocolate-parsnip dill soup and cornmeal crusted shrimp with a fresh slaw. I was so impressed with the flavor combinations on the soup, truly original. The shrimp was cooked to tender juicy perfection and fried cornmeal was a pleasant texture combination. For dinner we had the duck and whole trout. Beautifully executed! I took a chance on the trout because our waitress recommended it. I said I had never been convinced by trout so I wanted to be a believer. Well folks I BELIEVE! The fish was tender on the inside with a beautifully crispy skin. The flavors were a well balance Mediterranean/Indian flare, absolutely stunning. The duck was amazing with a crispy skin and juicy perfectly cooked inside. Dessert was my just as fantastic, Chocolate ganache with sea salt and cookie crumbs accompanied by port and a cup of French press coffee. Misty was an amazing server and delivered the best service I have had the pleasure of receiving here in Asheville. The owner was attentive and truly cared about our dining experience. Thank you to all staff at Jargon for delivery the best anniversary dinner!

Jargon has a beautiful outdoor patio area that has wooden walls, a sturdy covered awning, fans and heaters. The service was top notch. The food was a little hit or miss and definitely overpriced. The Brussel sprout snack was crispy and well seasoned with a tangy sauce. The carrot starter was bland and tiny for $16 and it came out room temperature rather than warm. The big fail was the Moroccan chickpea tagine. The chickpeas were dry and undercooked, and the sauce was nondescript. To her credit, my server picked up on my response that the meal was "fine" and brought Sean the owner to ask how to make things right. I decided to switch to the Cocoa Spaghetti a la Chitarra (duck spaghetti) which was quite tasty. My husband enjoyed his tuna. They have a nice wine list and our rose was solid. I would give jargon 3.5 stars if I could, but I rounded down because if you are a farm to table restaurant with very limited options, every dish should be great.
Be the first to ReplyService was friendly and outstanding.
Food was delicious. Highly recommend. The owner was there and cared about the quality of the experience.

Great romantic seating for an anniversary, complimentary champagne flutes to mark the occasion. The drinks menu was special and varied, with house barrel aged choices. Apps, smalls and larges were fresh and local, portion sizes were on the smaller side but delicious with views of the kitchen working away while you work your way through the menu.

Great food! Excellent atmosphere!! Even better service! We really enjoyed ourselves! The caviar was missing from the fish but we still enjoyed it.
Be the first to ReplyIt was awkward to say the least.
My friends used to love this place so they were dying to take me here. It was uncomfortable with an outside table a bachelorette party loudly taking place next to us. Very expensive wine with really crappy glassware. The starters were okay but only about 4 mains to choose from and very pricey. They manager was awkward at best and we decided to finish our meal somewhere else. Too bad I was looking forward to this experience but I don't think I'd return
