Our server Steve was great. Definitely recommend this place. A must visit when visiting Sedona.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a cute winery tucked in the Verde Valley.
We moved here from California and wanted to check out the Arizona wineries so we stopped in for the first time about 1 year ago. The ambiance is cute and they offer 3 different areas where you can enjoy your wine tasting, the main tasting room, which I found a little dark, a back tasting room which was brighter and offered sit down seating or the outdoor area. You get to choose 5 wine tastings from a list of about 9 and the pours are very generous. This was our third visit to the winery, and in the previous 2 visits we ordered a charcuterie board which was served very well done on a cute board. This time we got a 'box' and had to ask for plates....to which we were handed paper plates. Many of the red wines are decent but I haven't found a white at this winery or others that are any good. But your preference of wine is subjective so who am I to say what you might like!

This winery is truly creating something special with their wines. The wines are true to the Arizona style with a uniqueness that makes them stand out. When we tasted several of their reds and rose's we we're impressed with them all. The Savage Rose' is amazing. The color, the nose and the flavors are perfect. It finishes smoother than most rose's, while still staying true to the style. It's a special wine not to be missed. Be sure to make Javelina Leap a priority when wine tasting in the Verde Valley. Everything about the winery is friendly, fun and enjoyable - with excellent wines you shouldn't miss.

Close stop from our first winery which was nice and convenient. With the weather being rough they did have several spaces for people to gather and enjoy their tasting in a group which was nice.

This was a cool vineyard cause it doesn't look that big from the front and then when you walk through there's a lot of outdoor seating further back which is cool. They have an indoor bar and then outside there was live music and heating lamps which was nice. If you keep walking back there's picnic tables and they have a little wedding ceremony set up which looked pretty. Our Bliss wine tour guide brought us snack boxes which was really sweet so we ate that here but the winery itself also had food you could order. I got the sangria which was a drier kind. There are only 2 bathrooms that are both genders so that was a bit slow waiting for those to open up but pretty scenery.

We went around I believe it was 2:30. The best part of this was that it was dog friendly!!!!!!! When we arrived we walked in with my and order two flights and pizza. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day! The wine was delicious! Some of them were a bit dry for me but still great. The pizza was delicious. We will definitely come back to visit whenever we're back in AZ!

I love this place!! The wine selection is incredible and they do serve a few food items that we like. Get the pretzel, the smoked cheese and mustard are great with the pretzel. They make their chocolate truffles in-house and a MUST to accompany your wine . I give 4 stars because I think they need more staff. Most of the staff know the wines but having dedicated servers would help improve their timeliness. The last time i went, there was no music, but they normally have some live music as well which makes for an enjoyable time.

We were heading to another winery when we saw the live music sign. That's the Goddess and my jam on Sunday Fundays....so we changed course. Plenty of parking and we could hear the music from the parking lot. We walked in and while it was a tad dark, the staff was very helpful with our tasting choices. We were encouraged to move towards the back of the property (live music) or a quieter room. There was also an outdoor area adjacent to the parking lot with plenty of park benches and shade. The back area was cozy, had good natural light and a live music section. There was more seating in another room, or additional seating outside (opposite of the live music). Goddess and I had our weekly call with my son I. The quieter area while music was playing but then migrated to the music. The staff was great! They checked on us frequently and offered water and a small plate menu. Wines were ok for the price point, but nothing came off as amazing. The Sunday vibe was great and the staff kept us satisfied with our tasting choices. Great little spot for a lazy Sunday wine vibe with music.

..the audacity of charging $40 for a charcuterie board and then sending out Ritz and Club crackers... really not ok. This whole board came from Sam's Club. There are literally frozen meatballs from a bag on this board. Usually, when I order 3 items for an over $100 price point, I don't expect to be served on styrofoam plates. Disappointing.

Coming to Javelina Leap is always a pleasure! Delicious wines and several great food options including a fantastic charcuterie board. You can do their flights or wines by the glass, but you are pretty much guaranteed to enjoy anything that you drink here. The staff is knowledgeable and it is so much fun!
Be the first to ReplyI had an excellent wine tasting here today.
A lovely variety of dry whites and reds. The high quality of wines normally draws quite a large crowd, but they have multiple options of indoor and outdoor spaces.

This is my favorite winery in Arizona! ย Been coming here since 2009-2010 when they were getting started and the tasting room only fit like 6 people! ย Great wine, live music and the best Charcuterie board I've ever had! ย Kudos! ย Keep it up!

This place was one of a handful of vineyards that we visited in the area. It's atmosphere wasn't nearly as fun or relaxed as the others around it. Seriously, walk across the parking lot to Oak Creek. The service seemed very varied depending on who you were at the tasting area inside. I am totally rooting for the local wineries, this place needs to let go of the pretense and be itself! SO much potential. The wine was good.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon in the Arizona Room at Javelina Leap. Our server, Tamara, was just delightful! The three of us each did a tasting. I like that you can choose your wine. My favorites were the Reisling, Barbera, & Petite Sirah. We also shared a flatbread pizza & charcuterie board, which was outstanding! Ended up purchasing a bottle to share (Prospectors Blend).Beautiful & welcoming atmosphere along with fabulous wine...definitely one of my favorites in the Verde Valley!

ZERO STARS - RUDE and INSULTING! ย We walked into the cute tasting room in the front of the facility that was about a third full and the staff member suggested we go to the back tasting room. We thought she was trying to spread people out for Covid. We got to the back tasting room and it was nearly full, so we went back to the front and let her know and said we could get better service up front. She went to check out some other people who were finishing up and told them she tries to send the "tourist" out back. We walked out. We confirmed with the people walking out what she had said. Funny thing is they were from California. They said the wines were marginal at best and overpriced. We don't need to be insulted. We have a 650 bottles cellar at home, buy wine by the case to enjoy to remember great places, and have traveled all over for wine tasting. Never have we been treated so poorly.

Javelina Leap Vineyard and Winery is a family operated, boutique winery that creates award winning Arizona wine. The winery is located near Sedona in Verde Valley with a saloon style tasting room. Lucas Reed, Javelina Leap winemaker and sommelier, was in the tasting room greeting guests, and explaining how the elevation, volcanic soil, hot days and cool nights make Arizona a perfect environment for grape growing.Okay, but what is a Javelina? A Javelina (รค--ฤ-) resembles a wild boar. The owners and staff have seen Javelinas wandering around the vineyard at dusk, night, or early morning. They are native to Arizona and actually do not eat the grape vines!
