5 stars for the toro ssam bap, 3.

4/5 by Melanie Z. on 04/04/2022

5 for the noodles. We snagged reservations for Jeju for 5:30pm on a Wednesday (you have to be quick because spots run out fast!). All the glowing reviews for the toro ssam bap are accurate; this was one of the best appetizers I've ever had and worth the price! The noodle dishes are pretty similar to Japanese ramen in style and presentation. We ordered the Wagyu & Gochu noodles, and while they were tasty, they weren't mind blowing like the toro.Overall glad we got to try it but probably would try something other than noodles if I go again.

Finally got reservations and it did not disappoint.

5/5 by Kathy E. on 04/03/2022

My daughter and I were celebrating her birthday and went all out. Food and service was great. It's a bit pricey but definitely great for a special occasion. The only thing I wish was that I knew we were sitting at the bar vs a table. Not a big deal but would have preferred a table since I have back problems. I think the next time I go, I would just get all the apps and skip the entree. We also got the fried chicken but forgot to take a pic. Btw. Bathroom hand soap smells amazing! I've been trying to find it online. Lol.

5/5 by Kaylee K. on 03/31/2022

Snagged a res here for my birthday and had a lovely time! I agree with the other reviews that the must-try item is the toro ssam bap -- $50 is a hefty price to pay for an appetizer, but they're pretty generous with the caviar and I can truly say I've never had anything like it! The wagyu ramen is also exceptional with an incredibly creamy and flavorful bone broth. I had mixed feelings about the lamb ja jang myun, mostly because I think I prefer a more "traditional," less fancy Korean ja jang myun. There was a hefty portion of meat, though, so certainly worth a try if you're a big lamb fan.

3.5/5My friend was able to snagged a last minute reservation the same day. Even though we had reservation we still had to wait while they clean the tables. We ordered Ja Jang style ribs, squid & nuts and ramen. The squid was really good, the ribs and ramen was good too but nothing memorable or special.Service was really slow, took a long time for our food to come.

Quiet and unassuming.Food was flavorful and inventive. Favorites were the buhsut ramyun (mushroom) and torp ssam bap.Menu options are more meat centric (as expected w korean fare but an fyi) mostly w veal, pork, lamb on the menu.

The moment I landed in New York and made my way into

5/5 by Taejin H. on 03/27/2022

The moment I landed in New York and made my way into Manhattan, I grabbed dinner with my friends at Jeju Noodle Bar. It's a hidden restaurant right next to the Christopher St station and is packed but has nice lighting and ambience. We first tried the Toro Ssam Bap topped with caviar. They provided some seaweed for us to wrap it in. The tuna melted in my mouth and each bite was extremely rich and savory. This was definitely one of my favorite dishes here. Then we shared some of the Jjajang Ribs. I loved the smoked yet sweet flavor of the ribs, but though the meat was a bit on the tough and chewy side. For the main course, I ordered the Wagyu Ramen. It's one of the restaurants specialties and the soup was so warm and delicious. The noodles were firm, just the way I wanted and each bite of the Wagyu was savory. If you order this dish, make sure to mix the noodles well and eat the Wagyu quick. Though the Wagyu comes rare, it cooks relatively fast.I had a bite of the Truffle Bibim Myun that my friend ordered. It was extremely creamy and had a strong Soy/Sesame flavor that was exotic.Thought it wasn't my favorite, it was definitely delicious.Overall, Jeju Noodle Bar was a great experience. I got to share some delicious appetizers with friends and they really delivered with the Wagyu Ramen. The food was absolutely amazing and we all had an amazing time.

Overall - It was a great experience: 4/5Food - The food was exceptional. The best dish was by far the famous Toro Ssam Bap which had a great depth of flavor and a unique dish. I got the Wagyu Ramyun and my friends got the Atlantic Char and Family Ramyun. The Wagyu Ramyun was a great tasting broth but the Wagyu didn't enhance the dish and could've been exchanged for any other quality beef. The Family Ramyun was your average Ramyun and fit the price. The Atlantic Char was a surprising winner in books as the cook was great and the skin was very crispy while the sauce paired quite well.Price/Quality - I believe that this place is a "try once, come back in a blue moon" resturant. The food doesn't justify the price and I feel like it was great to try but I am not rushing back.

5/5 by Gabriella S. on 03/24/2022

In the heart of west village, this restaurant is a super cute spot for a somewhat casual, but extremely top notch (and pricy) dinner. Every bit of foot was filled with such depth of flavor that it's impossible not to love it. The service was very attentive, the ambiance was chill, and the food was all amazing. Highly highly recommend, just be aware that it's definitely pricey (over $100 pp).

3/5 by Andrea C. on 03/24/2022

I knew I had to try this place when my Tiktok FYP was filled with videos of this place! I also watched multiple youtube videos to get myself ready and to know exactly what to order on the menu. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed...not just with the food, but with the pushiness of the staff trying to get us to order more...After doing my research, I knew what I had to get. I ordered the fried chicken with caviar, Toro ssam baap, ribs, family ramyun, and lamb jjajangmyeon. Fried chicken was decent, but I don't really understand why it had to go with caviar. The flavor of the chicken was so powerful that it kind of made the taste of the caviar just disappear :( (sad). I will have to say that the toro ssam baap was probably the best thing we had. While it was expensive, I definitely think that was the most worth it item that we had. Ribs were decent, the flavor was good, except that the meat was kind of tough. It wasn't as "fall off the bone" as I thought it would have been (unfortunate). The lamb jjajangmyeon was pretty decent, there was a very distinct lamb flavor...almost reminded me of Mongolian meats/cuisine.I think I was most disappointed by my family ramyun. Maybe my expectations were just too high, but I thought it was super ordinary. For a noodle restaurant with a Michelin star, I was expecting a lot more I guess? Flavor of the broth was alright, but the noodles were kind of forgettable. We knew we had to hit a minimum spend amount, but the servers were just very pushy about making sure that we hit the minimum. We ordered a lot for 5 people, even WINE, but we were still unable to hit the minimum spend. To try and hit this minimum, someone in my party thought of a really good idea as to doing take out for ramen, but the server told us that they don't do take out....so we were left with around 50 bucks that we HAD to spend on something (mind you our party was already VERY stuffed). We were a little disappointed that the server said we couldn't takeaway, to which he responded "that's why I told you guys multiple times to order more previously".... I was a little bit in shook...Overall, I was really excited to go to this place!! It has a Michelin star, but overall was kind of underwhelmed and kind of left with a bad impression.

Um.... I mean it was good but I don't know if it was worth the price. I don't know if I'll ever go back but it's worth a try I guess. The ribs were decent and the noodles were good but I didn't see anything special. The squid was really good though. It was perfectly cooked and the pairing sauce went well with it.One disappointment was the egg. For a Michelin star restaurant I expected the egg to be cooked to perfection where the yolk is jammy and just so good but the egg was runny and nothing special and they charge extra $2 for it.

The food was incredible, and deserves a 5 star rating.

4/5 by Austin H. on 03/20/2022

The ribs were perfect, tender, flavorful and well seasoned and the potatoes on the side had a balance contrast to the ribs. The fatty tuna dish is honestly worth it, one of the best dishes I have had. The noodles, I could not believe how every bite was so full of flavor. I'm waiting for the day I can have another bowl. The service was just okay, and expected a little more from a Michelin star restaurant. We had to wait a while to finally give our order, sitting there with just water. The server gave us no insight on what would be good. But, The food came out hot and fast, and the food runners were great. Overall, a great experience and worth the wait to get a table. Highly suggest getting the ribs.

We had a wonderful experience at JeJu Noodle

5/5 by Charlotte G. on 03/16/2022

We had a wonderful experience at JeJu Noodle Bar!!Appetizers:1. Ja Jang Style Ribs 2. Toro Ssam Bap3. JeJu Fried Chicken WingsAll of these appetizers were juicy and left my mouth wanting more bites! My family devoured the food off of the appetizer plates clean. It was such a delightful culinary experience to eat something so common like fried chicken wings paired with caviar! This wasn't any normal chicken and ribs combo either! I'm from Texas and ribs/greasy fried chicken are everywhere in the Lone Star State, so trust me when I admit that these were some of the most juiciest and flavorful ribs AND some high quality fried chicken wings that I've ever tasted!! I felt like I was home, y'all. Also, I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of food given in the appetizers. Often times with gourmet restaurants, the appetizer just "wets" your palette but JeJu Noodle Bar started the culinary experience from the first plate! We haven't even gotten to the main course yet at this point and I was already impressed.Main courses:1. Wagyu Ramyun2. Family RamyunThe noodle bowls were where my tongue met love at the FIRST SIP of the crisp and smooth broth. It wasn't salty and I just wanted more and more. The food combinations paired so well with each other. I felt like I was experiencing a symphony of music in my tastebuds and I never wanted the concerto to end. We were pretty full after the main course, but we didn't feel sluggish or greasy. Overall, the entire meal took about an hour and the wait staff was incredibly attentive to our needs.I highly recommend using Resy to make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. We couldn't get reservations because it was fully booked so we were placed on the waitlist. JeJu called us 4 days ago to confirm our reservation and the management checked in with us occasionally throughout the week to ensure that we still wanted the reservation. There's a curtain on the entrance doorway that leads you into a very small and classy interior. Don't let the outside fool you! This cute restaurant is such a GEM in NYC! If you're looking for a cute and casual date spot, there is bar seating available. Quite intimate seating arrangements and plastic dividers between the tables are still in place. This was definitely a delicious culinary experience and the were worth the 1 Michelin star is well deserved!!!

4/5 by Ziyan F. on 03/16/2022

It is very hard to get reservations for this place as it has a Michelin star and was on many YouTube videos. They release reservations two weeks and advance and they are booked almost instantly. Food: 4/5Value: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 The servers were very nice and friendly, but they were a little slow in refilling our water. The appetizers were great, we got the toro ssam bap and Ja Jang style ribs. The toro ssam bap was filled with caviar and toro. The ribs were hot and very slightly under seasoned in my opinion. We got the wagyu ramyun, truffle bibim myun and lamb ja jang myun. My personal favorite was truffle bibim myun, it came filled with truffle and had a strong truffle taste combined with the Parmesan cheese, it tasted almost like pasta. The wagyu ramyun was good also, the veal broth was rich but it might've covered the taste of the wagyu as I expected a stronger wagyu flavor. The lamb Ja Jang myun was underwhelming, it was by no means bad but the lamb was minced and mixed with the noodles and mixed with the Ja Jang, so I couldn't really taste the lamb. Overall, the food was good, though on the pricy side. It was a unique experience having fancy ramyun, but I feel like for the most part the ramyun wasn't the star of the noodle dishes.

Had to set notifications to get reservations but finally managed to try this place with some buddies. The atmosphere is sleek and modern but also inviting and a great spot for a small group. Ordered the Toro Ssam Bap to start and then the Lamb Ja Jang Myun as my main. My lamb noodles were great, had a very intense flavor profile due to the black bean sauce. However, the Toro Ssam Bap stole the show. I probably would not come back if it weren't for this starter - definitely worth the price tag.

Difficult to get a reservation at this Michelin star

4/5 by Gloria L. on 03/06/2022

Difficult to get a reservation at this Michelin star restaurant, so I've been waiting to try this place for awhile. The resulting hype and my expectations may have been unrealistic. Came here as a group of 4 people on a Wednesday night (if you have a larger group, then you need to e-mail them directly and cannot book through Resy). Food: I wish we had just gotten all appetizers to try as the ramyun was expensive and not as good as other places in the city. Adding a bansuk (soy marinated soft boiled) egg is an extra $2, which honestly seems insulting given that the ramen here is already expensive - Toro SSam Bbap ($50): Fatty tuna, scrambled egg, tobiko rice, and kaluga caviar. You basically put this on the provided dry seaweed pieces and wrap it. There were so many reviews that mentioned this appetizer in particular that we had to try it for ourselves. I love toro and caviar, but this version, while delicious, seemed pricey. On their social media, there was uni featured on top of this dish (misleading since the real one doesn't have this), which would have really elevated it and justified the price - Hae Mul Ceviche ($23): Fresh, acidic, and bright with an Asian flare- Ja Jang Style Ribs ($30): Pork ribs with black bean glaze. Definitely recommend - these were surprisingly delicious and tender! Gochu Ramyun ($19): Spicy pork bone broth with pork belly and kimchi. Out of all the ones we got, this was actually my favorite as I felt many of the others were rather one note - Wagyu Ramyun ($43): I love wagyu, but this was just too much. The broth lacked dimension, and I honestly wouldn't be able to eat a whole bowl of this. Not worth $43 for sure - Family Ramyun ($23): Pork broth with seafood. The broth wasn't terrible, but the overall flavor was lackluster - Buhsut Ramyun ($25): interesting concept as this is a vegetarian ramyun with mushroom based broth with overlying parmesan foam. It strangely reminded me of broccoli and cheddar soup in flavor though. I could see this hitting the spot if you were sick and needed something lighter in flavor; however, this is expensive for not including any kind of protein with it Ambiance/Service: Does not look like anything special from the outside, but the inside is warm and inviting. The restaurant is quite small, which is why you need a reservation here. No issues with the service Overall: Delicious appetizers, but the noodles fall short of the hype. There are better Michelin star restaurants in the city that are easier to get a reservation at

I heard about this place a lot but was never able to book a reservation. One day I randomly check and luckily I saw one spot open the next day. I guess there was someone cancelled their reservation. The service was great, comfortable environment and food was amazing!! Everything we ordered was good. I was really impressed with the starters, which are beef and scallops. Their main thing, the ramen is spectacular, the truffle pasta is really good too, it's pricey but worth to try.

Easily the worst 1 Michelin star restaurant I've been to.

3/5 by Dominic O. on 03/01/2022

For the first time I seriously questioned HOW such a place got a star. I went with my Korean friend who doubled down on this opinion. He had gone prior to their star and thought it was aite and was surprised to hear they got a star since then. The order for two:* Jeju Fried Chicken 2 pc - Good crispy skin with tender meat. Dipped in a yogurt sauce that added a nice flavor to otherwise lightly spiced chicken. They provide a scoop of caviar to top the fried chicken as you eat it, but this caviar is completely wasted on such strong flavors from the chicken and yogurt dip. Unclear if this caviar topping was due to their michelin star status and wanted a way to "elevate" the chicken further. When considering this is $29 app and most of that cost is prob this caviar, really set a bad tone for the meal. 4/5 without caviar. 2/5 with. * Toro Ssam Bap - I suppose this is where the "Korean Inspired" comes into play as they take a toro handroll and let you assemble it yourself. You scoop delicious toro over rice topped with the same caviar from the Jeju chicken dish. Here the caviar shines more brightly against the toro and rice. The seaweed wraps are delicious but leave a slight residue on your hands. Taste wise this was the star of the meal, but really just seems like a rebranded toro handroll they made us assemble ourselves. $50 it wasn't cheap but I think you get a fair portion. * Family Ramyun - $23 and no ajitama? Is this some sort of joke? Could forgive such a blunder if the ramyun itself wasnt one of the worst noodle broth dishes in recent memory. The flavor was light and weird. Not reminiscent of Japanese nor Korean brothy flavors. The noodles were forgettable. The included pork was thin and tender. There were bits of shrimp and squid that were equally forgettable as the noodles. Added the ajitama for $2 which came out okay. 2/5 maybe a 1.5. Would rather eat shin ramen than that garbage. * Lamb Ja Jung Myun - Another strange departure from the dish it is inspired by. The noodles here were great and showed us a glimmer of why they're called a noodle bar. The black bean lamb sauce was subpar. Didnt taste anything like jajangmyeon. Lamb seemed okay but this tasted like a home chefs first attempt at such a dish if they realized they only had lamb in their fridge and never made jajangmyeon from scratch. 2.5/5If you couldn't tell from the above breakdown of the four dishes we were given, we were thoroughly unimpressed with the meal laid before us. The only reasonable conclusion one can draw from this meal is that these were new experimental dishes that they had yet to sort out, or we ordered something vastly different than whatever the michelin inspector had. A big fat from us.

Jeju has awesome appetizers but the noodle dishes

4/5 by Andrew C. on 02/26/2022

Jeju has awesome appetizers but the noodle dishes themselves aren't as good.Food: 4Service: 5Ambience: 5Value: 3I saw the video about Jeju Noodle Bar on YouTube and was lucky enough to snag a reservation on a weekend night. Jeju looks unassuming for a Michelin-starred restaurant, but I thought it was very cozy and liked the mix of counter and table seating. We didn't get drinks, but ordered one appetizer and two bowls of noodles. First off, the famous toro ssam bap (despite costing $50) was one of the best dishes I've had in NYC. Tuna, seaweed, rice, egg salad, and topped with caviar - the combination of flavors was amazing and we couldn't get enough of it (and I don't really know how to appreciate caviar, so someone that does would get an even better kick out of it!)As for the entrees, we felt like while they were good, they definitely fell short after having an incredible starter. The broth on the wagyu ramen was a bit too meat-y, and while the dishes tasted good, they didn't feel particular special to justify the price. That being said, even though it wouldn't be my top choice for noodles / ramen, I can see myself coming back...even if it's just for the ssambap.

During a spontaneous trip to New York, my boyfriend and I

5/5 by Han N. on 02/25/2022

During a spontaneous trip to New York, my boyfriend and I were looking for a place to go for dinner. Our friend suggested JeJu Noodle Bar because he had a fantastic experience, however, he told us people have to make reservations 2 weeks in advance to get a table. I gave it a shot and called the restaurant to see if they take walk-ins and they did! The hostess was incredibly friendly; over the phone she told me she could not give me an estimate time because there are people still eating at the one available walk-in table, but I can come and wait if I please, which is what we did. After arriving, she greeted us, checked our vaccination cards/ID, showed us where to sit and wait, and gave us menus to look at when there was around 15 minutes left (we only waited a total of 20 minutes!). This was a Wednesday, but I was very surprised since it is a Michelin restaurant. For starters, we decided to go with the Toro Ssam Bap, it was recommended by everybody on Yelp, and it was definitely worth $50 - we did add Uni on top which was MP at $20 that day, but it was still a worthy dish at $70. Everything about it was amazing, they definitely did not skim out on the toro, uni, or caviar. We were instructed to smear everything on top around and scoop straight down to get everything for the piece of nori. Everything just melts in your mouth and the flavors just go so well together. We also ordered the fried chicken that came with garlic sauce and caviar. The garlic sauce was a bit overpowering if you dip too much of it, you won't taste the caviar, so just a little bit of each is perfect. I never thought I would ever place caviar on top of my fried chicken. There is only wine, sake, and soju here so we opted for a bottle of Dae Jang Bu premium soju, 10x better than your regular green bottle soju. For our main course, my boyfriend ordered the wagyu ramyun, I would give it a 4/5 because it wasn't mind-blowing. It was good, the broth was rich, but after the starters, we were a little disappointed. I probably wouldn't order it again and go for another ramyun next time. I ordered the truffle myun bibim and this was my favorite dish from the entire night. The amount of truffle was beyond my expectation, the egg yolk just makes everything even creamier, there is sauce on the bottom that you mix up with the noodles. I was skeptical at first because it was a dish without any meat, which I usually opt for, but it was delicious and nothing like I've ever tasted before. It was a big portion, so I brought home my leftovers, and it was still delicious after I reheated it two days later. This was definitely worth the price. Overall, the experience was great. I would definitely come back if I ever get the chance to, the ambience is nice, the bathroom was clean, everyone is extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was spectacular!

Food: Assortment of HWE is OK with several pieces of mediocre fish. It costs $75 which I don't think it's worth.Wagyu Ramyun is OK. Noodle is just regular ramen. I think its texture can be better. Wagyu is OK as well but definitely not A5 so not really impressive.Overall it is lower than my expectation and the quality doesn't seem to be as good as other Michellin one stars such as Gramercy Tavern/Tuome/Sushi Nakazawa.Service:They should be more professional in reservation. I asked by email if I can reserve for a single person. Jason Lee asked me to go to Resy but didn't tell me they only accept walk-in for one person so I reserved for two online (the minimum option available there) with a note "one guest only". I also received a text msg to confirm my reservation for ONE person. When I arrived at Jeju, my reservation was canceled 30min ago and Jason said Resy already told me two minimum so it's my fault to reserve for one person only. Hey Jason, if you told me this at the beginning, you could have saved the trouble arguing with me. Moreover, if I didn't leave the note "one guest only", my table would still be available there at that time. I don't see why it's so difficult for them to get a seat for me after seeing the note. Maybe they just don't care coz they're not going to make much money from one person anyway.Coda:Special thanks to two kindly beautiful ladies who arrived at the same time as me. They offered me a seat at their table (of four seats) when Jason asked me to leave. Thanks for sharing their food with me as well. I wish them all the best and good luck in the future. For Jeju and Jason, I suggest you improve your professionalism but I won't be back and see you again.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Reply to the business owner's comment below:"We reached out to you via phone that we could not accommodate solo reservations and if you came in as a "first come first served" walk in guest at 5pm we would be able to seat you as a solo diner at the bar . You arrived at 5:30 after all tables were either sat or had incoming reservations. We stated if you waited 45-60min we would be able to accommodate you but you refused and demanded to be seated right away."IT'S NOT TRUE. I didn't meet or talk to Douglas so he just blindly supports Jason Lee for obvious reasons. Douglas, pls don't lie if you don't know or pretend to know the truth. If you like we can check the surveillance together.1. They didn't offer me any solution on the phone but simply canceled my reservation. There was no "first come first served walk in guest at 5pm" AT ALL!2. I arrived exactly at 5pm, not 5:30. My canceled reservation was at 5:30 but I arrived 30min earlier after realizing my reservation was canceled. I was the 5th guest group they hosted on that day.3. They didn't tell me "if you waited 45-60min we would be able to accommodate you" AT ALL! I was asked to leave before the ladies helped me.4. If Jason directly told me they didn't accept one-guest reservation by email instead of pointing me to Resy, I wouldn't have wasted my time booking/visiting them. Why blame a third party reservation vendor when they themselves are the real decision maker? Maybe I should send them an additional email to confirm but they're definitely responsible for the miscommunication.Douglas/Jason, why not just let people know clearly you don't accept one-guest reservation? Why do you think you can cancel a reservation so late without any make-up? If you apologize, I could probably let it go. WHY DO U STILL LIE?

Wow! It was difficult to get a reservation, but definitely

5/5 by Amanda K. on 02/22/2022

Wow! It was difficult to get a reservation, but definitely worth it. Truly worthy of its Michelin star! We loved all our dishes and had a great time during our dinner. For appetizers we got the ceviche, toro ssam bap, and the rips. The toro ssam bap is a must and lived up the hype, justifying the high price tag! The ceviche was surprisingly some of the best we had, and we loved the smokiness of the ribs. For noodles, we got the family ramyun, wagyu ramyun, and truffle bibim myun. While all the noodles were great, our favorite was the truffle. Probably the best truffle pasta we've ever had.Happy to say Jeju lives up to the hype and we will definitely be back next time we're in town! In addition, highly recommend watching the day in the life video on YouTube to have a better understanding and appreciation for all the work that goes on behind the scenes.

Snagged reservations on Resy 2 weeks prior our visit

4/5 by Gina L. on 02/19/2022

Snagged reservations on Resy 2 weeks prior our visit (released promptly @ 12am EST)!The two of us had seating at the bar. We started with the Assortment of Hwe, and each had a bowl of Wagyu Ramyun. The Hwe was fantastic - very fresh seafood organized oh so prettily atop a bed of shredded radish. We loved the sauce it came with, and kept that to keep our appetites whet even after we finished the hwe. Nothing beats a chopstick with sauce!!As for the Ramyun, it was very rich, with a hefty serving of thinly sliced wagyu. This cooked once mixed with the hot broth. It was good, but the price was definitely inflated by the wagyu topping (similar to how $ goes up when truffle or caviar is present). The broth and noodles were alright, but nothing outstanding.Perhaps it was the limited # of items we ordered (just two, oops), but we expected everything to blow us away for a Michelin star restaurant. Definitely fun getting the reservation though, loved that rush.

High expectations.

4/5 by Michael W. on 02/17/2022

.thats gonna be a problem. Go in with none and u will see it deserves 4 stars. $50 app??? What?! Toro ssam bap. Yes ! Prob one of the best apps in nyc for sure, but does it justify the price...yes indeed cause the scoop of caviar is almost half of a small tin. Next hae mul ceviche...delish, drank all the refreshing dressing. Scallop hwe was lilttle similar so dont order both. Now the ramyun...waygu is a must try, but prob wont order it again. Gochu ramyun is tasty but why the huge woodear mushroom and iceberg lettuce??? Dessert is just ice cream : (Overall its a great establishment thats worthy of its michelin. Mos def will be back to try the rest of the menu.

We managed to snag a reservation through Resy 2 weeks prior

4/5 by Natalie C. on 02/14/2022

We managed to snag a reservation through Resy 2 weeks prior to our visit date. We came on a Sunday night and by the time it was 7pm, every table was packed. They checked our vaccine cards and offered a nice hand sanitizer!! PS. Their bathroom has le labo hand soap which is a nice touch haha. The servers were really attentive the entire time. For appetizers, we had the toro ssam bap and fried chicken which came with a yogurt dip and caviar. I can say this was the most expensive fried chicken I've ever tried. The toro ssam bap was amazing- every bite of fatty tuna, Kaluga caviar and tobiko rice was buttery, rich and flavorful. It comes with a side of toasted seaweed to wrap but honestly I don't think it needed the wrapping; it tasted even more flavorful by the spoonful! The fried chicken was okay; the yogurt dip really complimented the crispy skin well but not sure if the caviar was necessary. The yogurt dip had a strong vinaigrette flavor so it kind of overpowered the caviar anyway. For main dishes, the 3 of us shared ramyuns, family style. We had the truffle bibim myun, wagyu ramyun & family ramyun. The truffle bibim myun was sooo rich and creamy. It almost tasted like your typical truffle cream pasta at an Italian restaurant. We were glad to do family style because this would've been a really heavy dish to have on our own. The wagyu ramyun didn't really meet my expectations, maybe because they were too high? lol, but the broth was just whatever to me. It wasn't that rich or flavorful imo but only the thin wagyu slices really gave the dish the wow factor. I would've expected the broth to be better. The family ramyun was probably the better one out of the 3. The broth was rich yet light for a pork broth, with a little bit of chili oil and it was just the most flavorful. The toppings were more traditional and we added the soy marinated egg here which made it better. Overall, I'd come back here just to have a toro ssam bap or 2 for myself LOL. Not sure I would return because it is pretty steep for bowls of ramen and I think I prefer traditional ramens but I'm so glad I finally got to try Jeju Noodle Bar at least once!

Better than ever

5/5 by JHLTravel on 01/20/2022

I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened, and I think that has gotten better over time. Everything was delicious. I think their ramyun is better than any ramen place in NYC. The potato salad that comes with the ribs is the best I have ever had. Adding a dollop of caviar to your fried chicken is a very cool twist.
