Why is everyone hating on this place? We tried a bunch of dim sum, string beans, and lo mein, all delicious. Service couldn't have been better. Large outdoor seating area.
Delicious meal.
7 people and ordered about 12 items. All were great from dumpling and scallion pancake to ginger beef and chicken with vegetables.

Overall, everything was good and you can make reservations here. I don't know how it compares to the Chinatown location but I'd come back here if I was craving dim sum in the UWS. Tried the following on the receipt, and the highlights were the turnip cake and shrimp wafers rolls (crispy). I might not get the salt pork chop (a little too salty) and the char siu buns (a little too much bun).
The staff here was nice and accommodating.
They allowed us to bring our stroller in and they could pretty easily fit our group of six.Whenever we had questions about the menu, they would go out of their way to answer and they would refill our waters very quickly. Unfortunately the food wasn't as great as the service (hence the rating on this review). The best dish that we had was the soup dumplings but there was nothing particularly special about the soup dumplings. We considered them pretty standard. The duck dumplings were disappointing since the filling had a very mushy texture. The texture of the crab noodles was also pretty mushy. I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong things but we didn't really enjoy our meal that much.
Dim Sim Bonanza
We had been looking forward to dim sum at Jing Fong restaurant in Chinatown. We were not disappointed. Spotlessly clean, with quick service, and good food. What we liked especially is a menu showing the dim sum options in picture, chinese, and English. That way you can point to something that you really want in addition to what's being offered on the cart. A thoroughly enjoyable eating experience.

My partner and I had a very nice experience dining here on Easter, food was great, staff was friendly and the menu had several great options. We ended up ordering a few things off of the dim sum menu and were super full by the end of our meal. Of course I had to get the turnip cakes and they were perfectly soft and delicious. Other dishes I'd recommend are the crab and pork soup dumplings, beef skewers, fried shrimp wontons and beef rice noodle roll (not pictured). I'd absolutely come back to try more of the cocktails, they have a ton of fun, tasty drinks for good prices. 10/10 would definitely recommend
Awful.
I should have listened to the recent reviews. I remembered the place as having good dumplings and so ordered what I remembered. Food I got was dreadful. The dumpling wrappers were thick and rubbery, the fillings tasteless, crude. The country chicken was inedible. The receipt said KITCHEN EXPO UWS. So what does that mean? Jing Fong is having this Kitchen Epo fill their orders? I ordered from Jing Fong via doordash. The Doordash app showed them picking up from Jing Fong and delivering to me. The receipt on Doordarsh says Jing fong. So who or what is Kitchen Expo UWS? I think Jing Fong owes me a refund. Someone should investigate this. The food was really awful. Doordash perhaps? You order from one place and get food from another?
This review is for take out.
Jing Fong catered a 2024 Chinese New Year celebration I attended. They did a fantastic job of providing three delicious meals to select from. There was beef, chicken and tofu. The meal I enjoyed had chicken and definitely was enough for two meals for me. The rice was delicious and broccoli cooked the way I like. My mouth is watering thinking about the chicken! For me it was so much food I shared some with my daughter. She loved the chicken and rice so much she decided to try take out at the Upper West Side Jing Fong location. Naturally she shared with me. She loves broccoli and keeps it on hand so she had her own. As for me I love collard greens and am not much of a meat eater so I added a bit of the chicken to my greens. It was all delicious and now we are both fans of Jing Fong. We can see why their food is so popular. I'm recommending either this location or Chinatown location. We both want to try some of their other options.
We came for weekend dim sum.
After a short wait, the host led us to a table which was technically still the previous customer's table because it was NOT cleaned up yet. Did the host get any training? Does the management know restaurant service 101? NEVER show your customer a dirty table. I wonder how this place is managed. SMH.
AVOID.
I go to the Chinatown Jing Fong at least once a month. This UWS location is not it. Of course it's overpriced and that would have been okay but the service is incredibly slow. After our noodle dish the waiter asked if we wanted anything else and I said we were waiting on our pork dish. You can tell he forgot to put in the order. He then came 15 mins later and said that the kitchen ran out. I asked him if he just put in the order and he kept saying the kitchen ran out. Mind you, this was now 45 mins after we originally placed the order and the waiter didn't check up on us. He had also forgotten my beer for 20 mins. $50 for one noodle dish, one dim sum dish and a beer. I would have happily paid $30 more for a complete meal for my wife and I. Would have chalked it up to a bad night but the other reviews speak for itself. Would happily take fast, rude, accurate service than slow, incomplete, half-assed service. This wasn't it. Do yourself a favor and stick to the Chinatown location.
So bad.
So overrated. Hard PASS. Dim sum is awful. Carts don't fit properly in the much smaller "new space." The servers do NOT circulate evenly around the dining room. Super stressful trying to get these non-English speaking servers to come over to your table. Dumplings in general were LOW QUALITY. Never going back. I feel as if I was scammed.
Decent meal in Chinatown
Just ok. We came based on reviews. Food was fine, not the best. Had a variety of dim sum dishes - standouts are chicken buns, shrimp dumplings and sesame rolls. Service was slow and we felt kind of rushed. I am willing to try again but this wasn’t a good first impression.
Good service
It’s well known Chinese restaurant. But I am a bit disappointed with the dishes. We came in around 6:20 pm and there were only two tables. The dishes came out cold/warm. Especially with the stir fried beef noodle chow fun. It tested oily when it’s cold. Other dishes were up to its standard.
