We arrived at 11:30AM on Saturday and got seated right away.
By noon it was pretty packed. Everything was so good!! We loved the su mai, lotus leaf, bbq pork bun, soup dumpling and mei fun noodles!Servers were also very attentive! Can't wait to go back!

The scallion pancakes were amazing! They were delivered super crispy too! Would definitely order again!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and authentic food.
Professionally service. Restaurant is open, and when the weather allows the outside area is nice and protected
Be the first to ReplyIs there a better dim sum spot on the UWS? No.
Is it as cheap as your fav Chinatown spot? No. Are you gonna take a shower, put clean clothes on, hop on the train and deal with all that comes with going downtown... right now? No- you're not. You're welcome.
Be the first to ReplyPretty good for upper west side.
The selection is small, but the quality is pretty good.
Be the first to ReplyThe shrimp and chive dumplings were tasty.
The pork buns were OK. The steamed shrimp rolls were disappointing. Overall would not return or recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI had an incredible experience here dining with my family.
Each dish was delicious and fresh tasting. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, which I expected and was not a big deal. This place is an UWS staple with delicious dim sum. The low Yelp rating is not accurate at all to me. I'd recommend to everyone! The steamed rice rolls were one of our favorites, and the pork buns were absolutely delicious and melt in your mouth. Honestly, I'd trust any dish on the menu! Definitely would recommend and want to go back.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of the few dim sum places in the UWS.
My partner and I visited on a Thursday evening without a reservation around 6:30pm, and we had a pretty good experience. We were told that the wait would be around an hour, but it ended up being more like half an hour which was nice for us. The decor here was nice and standard, though our table didn't feel very clean. The bathroom was also not very clean. The dim sum options range from $7-$9, which is not surprising for UWS. We tried their crab, shrimp and spinach dumplings, pork and chicken soup dumplings, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, BBQ roast pork buns, turnip cake, and lastly, their sautéed Chinese cauliflower (the only one that wasn't dim sum - $16.95). For drinks, we got lychee mimosas. I wouldn't say that anything was particularly great, and nothing tasted that authentic except for perhaps the sticky rice and the Chinese cauliflower. However, we still enjoyed the meal and were satisfied afterwards. I think this is solid place to come for a casual meal.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing shrimp rice noodle rolls, lots of great options.
Slightly overpriced though, but great for the upper west side.
Be the first to ReplyAn unexpected visit to this nyc gem.
We were seating and assisted quickly. Their menu was simplistic and did not have a ton of options that could make ordering a struggle. We ordered siu mai and and their stick rice wrapped in lotus leaf. I wasn't a fan of the sticky rice but my boyfriend insisted that it was one of the best that he has had in the states so I would take his word for it! Overall great restaurant, ample seating and good cocktails as well!
Be the first to ReplyHad a very good takeout dim sum experience here.
Roast pork buns were great, and the shrimp rice rolls were excellent.
Be the first to ReplyFood: Okay.
I've had better, but it did what it needed to do. Customer Service: NEVER IN MY LIFE have I had an experience like this. At the beginning everything was fine. We ordered and they dropped off the food. There was nothing spectacular about it. My friend spoke mandarin so that help with the language barrier. The check comes; I put a 10% tip and paid for it. I usually tip 20% but it slipped my mind and put 10. The waiter comes back, points at the check, says something in an annoyed manner. I could not hear because he was wearing a mask. I asked him to repeat what he said, he rudely flashed me off and leaves. I was so confused, then my friend told me he said "you're only going to pay 10%." Now I had no problem updating the tip, because again, I did not realize I put 10% and the service was okay. So for him to rudely brush me off like that was crazy. I have never had anyone bring back my check AND try to shame me/get mad at me for my tip nor have I seen it happen to anyone else. As you can see from my profile picture, I'm Black. I'm not saying this was racially motivated, but I doubt he would have done to my friend (Asian) if she did the same thing. He was also very pleasant with her in general (she did speak mandarin so that's an important factor). I won't return, but maybe you'll have a better experience.Price: The dimsum ranges from $7-8 and you only get two or three depending on the item. I shared the food with my friend and paid $20 each for 5 small plates.

Been here many times but recently had the worst experience!! Their main dishes have basically NO meat! mostly vegetables! Please raise prices if cost is rising but don't fool your customers like this!! Also, four-person party you are trying to auto add 20% tips without any service?! If you had asked me how's the food I would tell you in person how bad it is! clearly you didn't even ask us!

Gone are the days that I used to turn to Jing Fong for my weekend dim-sum fix. I'm sure it was the pandemic that led to the Chinatown location to close. This location is like its uptown sister- a lot smaller and pricier. I've been going to Jing Fong's Chinatown location ever since I moved to NYC in 2008. I miss the spacious banquet hall space that was JF. I wasn't a fan of it when they eventually brought in the mimosa carts in the early 2010s, but it was okay...I accepted it. I still kept coming. But to fully close your doors? Where else was I supposed to go? This location has much less seating and those who used to frequent the Chinatown location have migrated uptown to satisfy their dim-sum fix. The wait time on the weekends can exceed 90 minutes and the portions of dumplings (from when I remembered to be $3-$4) have skyrocketed to $6-$7 for some dumplings and rice noodles drenched in sweet soy sauce. I think for the location if you don't fancy the 40-minute subway ride downtown this is probably one of the best options in the area.As for me, since I live in Downtown Brooklyn, I would much prefer to make the trek to Manhattan Chinatown or Sunset Park, where I think dim sum is a lot more authentic/tastes better and only slightly cheaper (but, not by much). I also can't justify the long wait times here. There are much better food options in the area, unless you're really craving dim sum. Even then, the wait time here would justify the subway ride downtown where you can step into any of the dim sum places without waiting!

Was so excited about Jing Fong opening on UWS bc the one in Chinatown was closed for a long time (now re-opened), but it's verrryyy different and 100% catered to non-Chinese people (the employees said this themselves too). In other words, if you're seeking authentic dim sum, I would NOT recommend this place -- but if you aren't so picky about that then I think their food is solid. Their dim sum menu only has dishes popular in Western culture such as rice rolls (chang fen), siu mai, shrimp/chive dumplings, char siu buns, etc. but they didn't have some of my favorites such as beef tripe and porridge (and a couple others but I forgot). They were not busy at all on Sunday around noon, surprisingly. No outdoor dining when I went but they had a lot of tables inside.
Be the first to ReplyThis place treated us as if it was a problem to dine here.
We had to ask for someone to bring us drinks after we waited 20 minutes. Then, we had to ASK for someone to take our order. Then, we had to remind them we ordered. They didn't bring us half the order. Then they tried to charge us for all that we ordered when we only got 3 things. It was the worst dining experience of my life. I thought maybe they were just busy at first. But no, they were taking care of the table next to us as if they were Kings and treated us as if we shouldn't have been there. So believe me. I won't be back and highly encourage you to pick a different restaurant. Horrible service.

As a person who lived in China for 5 years, I can confirm that these dim-sums are the best great flavors, steamy + quick service. Great price as well! recommend
Be the first to ReplyNo idea where the solid 3 star is coming from.
My group had a great time at Jing Fong across all aspects -- food, service, price point, and what have you. (... except for the weirdly watery hand sanitizer. That was a 3-star sanitizer for me.)We sat down around 11:30 on a Saturday and it was somewhat full, but there was a crowd outside by 12, 12:30ish.The food was great; perhaps not ""authentic"" dim sum but... my dears, this is UWS lol. The har gow was particularly "inauthentic" in that the shrimp was T H I C K. None of that 80% wrapper, 10% filling, 10% shrimp nonsense. Just a HUGE chunk of juicy, flavorful shrimp. My group was a huge fan of the crispy wafer rice rolls too. The texture of the rice wrapping for each of the rolls we had was on point.I thought our bill would be astronomical (in the way you'd expect them to be when you're serving ~~Asian cuisine with elevated ambiance~~ in a predominantly not Asian neighborhood)... but the total came out to about $25pp with tip and tax. Maybe we weren't hungry that day? Either way, Joe's Rice Rolls is right next door if you ever need a lil something extra after lol.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible quality Chinese food.
Very bland and not flavorful at all. Tried at least 10 dishes. Our first and last time trying it.

I have visited here on 2 occasions and had very different experiences. The first was negative and the second was more positive. The food was amazing both times. I recommend the sticky rice and the BBQ Roast Pork Buns. The rice rolls were on the bland side even with the sauce and could have been better. I also enjoyed the shumai and xiaolongbao. The service the first time took a really long time even though we went at a later time on Sunday. It ended up working out ok because we were able to have a great conversation. The second time, our service was better. I think it helped to have a friend who knew how to call the waiter for anything we wanted. As a result, we were able to get our food very quickly as well as anything else we needed. I would say the food makes up for the sub-par service.

Went with a huge group so options were limited, wasn't expecting it to be great because of reviews. Very pleasantly surprised!!! Very good dim sum, comparable to some of my favs in Chinatown.
Be the first to ReplyThree and a half stars, upgraded to four.
Been going to the Chinatown Jing Fong for years. The Chinatown location was one of my favorite spots for Dim Sum & oh how I missed indoor dining & buffets during the pandemic. The upper west side Jing Fong is convenient but the food simply isn't the same. It's good, yes, definitely good. I tried the shrimp rice rolls & several dumplings; the steamed shrimp rolls at Jing Fong had better texture & flavor than those at TimHoWan Hells Kitchen, although it's close. Jing Fong included a few delicious sauces (for a recent takeout order). Yet something has changed, it's just not the same as grabbing super fresh hot dim sum directly from the cart. It's different, it is. Some food simply has to be eaten at a restaurant- as quickly as possible from kitchen to plate. Happy to see Jing Fong survived the pandemic.

This is one of my go to Friday dinner options when I need a reliable option. Order via DoorDash and get various items with the standards BBQ Roast Port Buns, Shrimp and Chive Dumplings, Pork & vegetable dumplings, Turnip Cake & sesame balls. Most of the time stick with the dim sum options. The Fried Chicken Wings with Roasted Garlic I think have chinese 5 spice seasoning which I don't care for. Otherwise I haven't experienced anything I didn't like. One day I'll try in person so I can see how their service is.
