Prior to our reservation, they did call to ask about
Prior to our reservation, they did call to ask about allergies, dislikes, and special occasions! There is some street parking and some garages nearby. Jont is located above Bresca. We had the door opened for us and we were greeted and taken upstairs immediately into an intimate room with seats around a kitchen. They take your coat for you if you request it.We were asked for sparkling or still water and offered some champagne. I believe they also offer non-alcoholic sparkling for those who don't drink. There is an tablet with the drink menu for your selections before the meals begin. We did opt for the truffle experience for an extra $150 I think it was. Although it was good and they do give you a fair amount to pair with some dishes, it can be overpowering. I would suggest that if you go with someone, one person opts for the truffle.I did enjoy most of the dishes, some had a lot of flavors that can be a little overwhelming. Everyone was so gracious and nice and service was excellent. You're taken to a lounge area with tables right outside the kitchen area for desserts, coffee or dessert beverages. When we left, they gave us a copy of the menu for the evening and it's when your back downstairs that you get your coat. They also knew that I had a dog and had dog treats for me to take home! It's a great experience to have and we do plan to come back. I was definitely full by the end of the meal but all the desserts were fantastic.

Jônt was kind of like a nice deja vu, as we had been here
Jônt was kind of like a nice deja vu, as we had been here for the chef's tasting at Bresca; Jônt is now utilizing that same space upstairs for their chef's counter seating. The tasting menu has about 32+ items, using seasonal ingredients. What I like about Jônt's menu is that it's Japanese seafood-forward and has that nice Asian flare to each of their dishes.I'm kind of obsessed with their little bites and tartlets - it's the perfect combination of savory!Note that they cannot accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.Reservations are required on Resy, and they also have special collaborations and wine tasting events. I was so disappointed that I missed out on the Jungsik one as it was sold out quickly!Service is friendly and great, and the vibe is comfortable and relaxed.Definitely a favorite in the D.C. area - great for date nights or for any one who enjoys a clean and tasty menu.Limited metered parking in the area.+offers various collabs and special events - gets sold out quickly!+friendly service+reservations required on Resy+limited metered parking in the area

If I want to listen to loud rap I go to a night club.
Definitely inappropriate for a Michelin restaurant. The food quality cannot overcome horrible ambiance.
😍
My fiancé and I had the most amazing experience.
Food, service, and music was excellent. We were 15 mins late due to traffic so it's super important to make sure to show up on time as they serve each dish to everyone around the same time. They were understanding and caught us up with no issues. Food: I loved every single dish but my favorites included the starter with tuna and caviar and the uni on pumpkin chawanmushi, kombucha, and soymilk. Koshiibukin rice had a generous amount of truffle and the duck was perfectly cooked. My favorite of the desserts was kakigori: shaved ice jasmine, strawberry, amazake. Ambience: Sad to see a previous review calling it "rap" when it's actually a mixture of different genres. In my opinion, the playlist was great. I didn't feel like I had to whisper when talking. Service was top tier. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly. They all took great care in everything they did.

Hidden away on the top story of another DC restaurant, Jont
Hidden away on the top story of another DC restaurant, Jont offers a not-to-be-missed dining experience. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, the service is impeccable. There are 32 courses - 16 savory and 16 sweet - with a unique range of flavors and textures. The details were incredible, and writing them all would not do it justice. The 15th and 16th course, the pinnacle, was an aged duck breast with a Japanese bread to absorb the sauce the duck came with. Chef's kiss. One of the most memorable parts though, and just a testament to the level of detail and thought throughout this dining experience, was the Jeni's ice cream that Andrew hand delivered at the end of the night after sneakily asking during the meal if we had ever gone and what our favorite flavors were! The 32 courses were all amazing, unique and delicious in their own ways but this surprise made the most special night even that more special. I hope to have the opportunity to return here.

Jont is now the pinnacle of DC dining, both in quality and price. Every course was amazing, and the final check was jaw-dropping. I'm not sure we'll be back until we win the lottery, but wow is the food good!

Probably the best meal with the best service I have ever eaten!
For Valentine's Day, Bresca served a very special 5-course meal with champagne and caviar supplements and wine pairings with each course (the supplements and pairings cost extra). The caviar was served with delicious little potato waffles and a rich cream sauce. All of us loved it! The we were served the most delectable little tarts as appetizers. This was followed by small but filling dishes of delicious scallops, swordfish with carrot pieces and raisins in a sauce (or wagyu beef for an extra charge), dried duck in a most delicious dark gravy, a creamy and flavorful linguini with black truffles. And when we didn't think we could eat another bite, the attentive wait staff brought out dishes of madeleines straight from the oven and delicately dusted with confectioner's sugar. They were amazing! last but not least, the staff brought out dishes of four small desserts: caramels, pralines, tiny madeleines of a different flavor, and one other (I can't recall the name of that one). It was a superb, filling, and very enjoyable dinner! Many thanks to the hardworking chefs and wait staff at Bresca! I can't say enough about the wait staff, by the way - they were constantly and subtly topping off our water glasses all night, and were so quick to whisk away empty dishes and bring out new dishes and wines. They described each dish and wine, which we really enjoyed. We look forward to returning! :)

This is not just dinner, this is an experience! Our first
This is not just dinner, this is an experience! Our first official experience of 2023 was at the magical Jônt, and they did not disappoint. Here's a couple of things to keep in mind:It can be expensive, so just be sure to budget ahead of time so you can live your BEST life! It's above/inside of Bresca, so don't worry, you're in the right place if you're there. (We almost got lost lol.)Get the drinks! I promise you, it's worth it. We enjoyed wine pairings as well as cocktails.Engage with the staff! They are absolutely lovely and they really want to make it worth your while, so lean into it.Take a second and enjoy where you are. It's such an intimate space, I felt like I was transported somewhere else! Don't stay on your phone the whole time, just enjoy it.

Came here a while back and had an exceptional meal.
There's definitely some places that are weak 2 stars and even some weak 3 stars. This is very strong 2 star and will be 3 soon enough. Some things needed to be worked out to get there but they'll get there and when they do this will be one of the greatest restaurants in the country.
We have eaten at many fine restaurants in the DMV and around the world. I feel that the meal and experience we had is in the top 5% of any we've had in the world. The apps were delicious. The courses were well timed and represented many tastes. Ingredients were combined/flowed together in a harmonious way with flare that set off little details. Care was taken with the presentation and the staff was friendly and helped fuel the party atmosphere of the holiday. My wife and I have a saying "I'd pay money for it". This was truly an occasion where that "Money" was well worth it. Thank You for a great meal and experience.

I went here a few months ago absolutely the best food I've
I went here a few months ago absolutely the best food I've ever had I think this place is worth taking a trip to dc just for this restaurant I left with a hefty bill and felt every penny was worth it, great customer service and an awesome experience, the food/experience is so good it will make you hate any other restaurant. If you wanna experience Michelin star food this is the place you should go
I was so absolutely full when I left but would definitely go there again (though I may just ask to get the dessert to go next time!). Highly recommend this experience.
Bresca impressed us throughout the entire meal. Well worthy of its 1 star, the food and service was impeccable. There are multiple menu options- full tasting (6 courses), and also 3/4 course options, and there are add ons to each. We selected the 3 course, and added their famous duck, as well as the wagyu/caviar tartare. Everything was perfectly done (especially the duck) and the tartare was a highlight, with both caviar and truffle toppings- decadent and amazing. For people who enjoy good wine, pairings can be ordered with any of the menu sets, and there is even an elevated reserve pairing that is well worth it (the staff overall, but especially the Som is really knowledgeable and provided great pairings and education). Overall it's a great meal that should be on your DC list!
the menu although quite limited was superb. The by the glass very short on choice. The big issue is they seem to be more concerned in getting you in and out the door. To us it flet like the proverbial bum's rush. Get them in feed them and out the door.
😍
One of my favorites in DC
Impeccable service and faultless food every time. They take their food seriously enough to refuse to sell me madeleines to go. Pulled a great burgundy vintage for me, humored me in using my own glasses when they did. It's hard to know what to say about a place where every experience is perfect.
😍
Fantastic meal, not intimidating for a 1* Michelin….
Great food / special dinner in a casual atmosphere We had a gift certificate and were a little nervous going to a 1 star Michelin restaurant but it was not at all intimidating- the vibe was very casual and friendly There was quite a team of servers / runners and they explained each course in great detail when they brought it out The menu choices are limited so review it ahead of time. The food was fabulous and many “chef swag” extras such as house kombucha (best we ever had), 3 different apps/tastes and 3 different sweet treats. I had no problem paying the automatic 22% service charge because of all these extras The actual courses, we covered most of the menu, the ravioli and salmon apps were great, bluefin tuna and stuffed pork were even better and the dessert was the best - blueberries in a basil infused sauce with tapioca and lemon curd with a small pavlova on top - wow Our only complaint is we could not book table for 3 online so we didn’t invite our daughter along, but clearly they had space… If you want a special meal we can highly recommend!

My husband and I went in May, delicious food! There were over 20 courses, all really unique flavors and attention to detail! Dessert was amazing as well. Beautifully crafted. My husband got the wine pairing and that complemented the food very well.

Truly excellent dining.
We love food, but given the price we were hesitant to make our reservation. Finally for a special occasion we decided to try either Jont or Pineapple and Pearls. I decided on Jont because I prefer more small courses (never too many) and based on the menus I had seen it appeared to use a lot of premium ingredients in addition to the caliber of cooking dining and service. I was honestly expecting to be a bit disappointed since I think Bresca is only ok, however Jont blew it out of the water. The service was immaculate and attentive. Every course of the 16 courses was amazing. The food was fresh, and creative. It was the perfect amount of food and we left full. I haven't had a meal in the US that I enjoyed this much. The real stars for me were the foigras starter, the duck course (unreal) the pork, the sea urchin, but honestly the palate cleansers were just as good. Desserts were excellent utilizing fresh summer strawberries in a variety of ways. My fiancé got the wine pairing which was excellent if alittle traditional, I was more than content with the wine by the glass I ordered which is much more budget friendly than the pairing. We loved having a separate space for dessert which was very intimate. The chefs counter was spacious, and quiet enough that we could easily hear each other but with music (Kanye and jay Z the whole time which we loved) loud enough we couldn't hear other parties. I am hard of hearing and hate loud restaurants- not a problem here. If the dinner wasn't $1200 at the end of the day we would come back again in a heart beat. I will eventually go to pineapple and pearls for a comparison of DCs two star spots but this will be hard to beat. It was definitely worth the price and the experience, and we are so glad we did this before leaving DC. Well done Chef Ryan!

Came here by myself because none of my friends or family
Came here by myself because none of my friends or family were willing to spend this amount on food and wine. Food and the wine pairing (iconic) were excellent but the wine pours were so tiny! Enjoyed the transition to the lounge for desserts and the personalized note. Even got some personalized dog treats to take home to my dogs! Service was outstanding and really made the night.
😍
Celebrated my wife's birthday there.
Interesting and unique experience, definitely worth of trying. Everything was in a bite size. High-end ingredients, elegant plating, and very much attention to details, even the utensils are designer brands. If there is one drawback for the dinner, that would be the desserts. I'm not sure why all the Michelin rated restaurants that we've been to, they all give out those sugary candies/chocolates at the end, did you guys all get them from the same vendor with a wholesale price? We had all the candies and chocolates to go, and they're still on my kitchen countertop now. Not sure if we're going to eat them. But overall, the dining experience was still spectacular. Highly recommended to the foodies out there!
😍
One of the best dining experiences we have had.
We've been to many of the top 50 restaurants in the world (in North Central and South America, Asia and Europe, including 11 Madison the year it won top honors in the CNN top 50. Jont ranks near the top of our list.
😍
My husband took me here for my birthday dinner, and Jont
My husband took me here for my birthday dinner, and Jont did not disappoint! Jont is located above it's sister restaurant, Bresca. They also share the same phone number (which we found out while trying to contact them since we were running a little behind). They were so kind and accommodating despite the timing snafu. Please note, Jont has a "communal dining" format, which means that everyone's individual dishes come out at the same time, so definitely best to get there early as to not miss out on any of the experience!Upon arrival, I was greeted with champagne and a personalized tablet, wishing me a happy birthday. Love it! Already forgot about the horrible DC area rush hour traffic at this point. My husband and I opted for the mid-level wine pairing and I opted to get the additional truffle pairing (cause why not.. it's my birthdayy lol). All of the dishes were delicious! I think my favorite ones were the caviar bites and the foie gras bite, that was like sweet and savory. Sooo yummy! The ambiance was modern and fresh. I enjoyed all the decor and the music! The music was a perfect combo of upbeat, chill, and fun. I was even hoping they had a spotify playlist they could share lol but it sounds like the playlist is proprietary hahaAs far as the service, so amazing from start to finish. Everyone was so great to talk to, and answered my many questions about the restaurant, food, and wine. We also had a chance to speak with Chef Ryan himself! He was a pleasure to chat with, so glad we got to meet him!If you're looking for a wonderful dining experience, from the food, to environment, to the people, Jont definitely delivers!
😍
Still my favorite restaurant in DC.
Excellent service, every dish is a winner, fit for any special occasion.
😍
Fantastic food and wine choices.
The wait staff was very accommodating, and the food was superb. My only disappointment was that our server was wearing jeans. At those prices, I expect waiters to be dressed nicely.
😍
Jont absolutely shook me to my core.
I managed to snag a last minute cancelled reservation for dinner at Jont and was debating whether or not to come! I could have easily missed out on one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in my life! The food was creative, delicious and made my taste buds dance. The overall experience that the team creates, in splitting locations between and bar and lounge for dinner vs dessert was so fun. I cannot wait to come back!!
😍
Great place to go for a special event.
I think the main course was slightly dry but other than that everything was great! My course came with 3 desserts which made it even better. My only comment about Jont is the price as I don't believe the price justifies the quality of the meal. 2 star restaurant for 3 star price...
