Had a fantastic brunch at JOJos.
Lovely cozy atmosphere with spectacular food! The buttermilk pancakes with berries and bananas was delicious. The avocado toast was amazing too! I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and lovely atmosphere.
Started with the peekytoe crab dumplings with Meyer lemon, celeriac and ginger infused "tea." Then for an entree had the sea bass with crispy skin, accompanied by Yukon gold potato dumplings topped by crispy fried potato skins and all in a paprika butter broth. The rest of my party had an array of dishes, the duck, the scallops. All wonderful. Attentive but not overbearing service. Only quibbles? Pricey! (But all of NYC, especially fine dining, getting crazy expensive) And the front entrance gets uncomfortably crowded. No place yo wait to be seated or to wait for coats.
Be the first to ReplyI ended up ordering the burger for a change today.
It was delicious. I ordered the broccoli and kale salad. Another 5 stars! Luna took great care of my family. She was wonderful. She recommended the warm chocolate cake for dessert. Thank you for a lovely evening! :-)

We tried this restaurant tonight for the first time and we were blown away with our dining experience. The chef has created some truly unique and fantastic dishes and the service there was unparalleled. The crab dumplings and the butterscotch pudding were our favorites however every dish we tried was delicious. We felt right at home and loved every dish we had there. Couldn't recommend it highly enough to everyone!
Be the first to ReplyWe came for a Thursday night dinner.
the service was great but the food was extremely salty and inedible. I returned my $52 steak and basically took the same steak and returned back to the table. Not classy. my husband's burger was also very salty. Never going back.
Be the first to ReplyI have eaten periodically at Jojo through the years.
I went back this evening for dinner and was greatly disappointed with the food. Very lackluster. The salmon overcooked. Too much dressing on the salad. And the sorbet was inedible - like it had been in the freezer for months. Ice chips throughout and tasteless. This is an expensive restaurant. I will not be returning.

Great local neighborhood restaurant, food was very very good, the hostesses were very nice and the server was quieter but did a fine job attnding our needs. The decor is soft and warm, with great ambiance. Why we didn't give it 5 stars well...it's not the most comfortable for large or tall people. My man and son are both 6'2 and I am 5'9 and we felt very cramped at a table for 4. Thankfully there wasn't another group at the table next to us until just before we were almost done.We had the Fig and Barata appetizer came with two pieces of homemade bread it tasted like a jam with the cheese. Not the best barata I've had but it was solid. Then for our mains we had the blackened sea bass which was a smaller portion but delicious. My man inhaled it and started eating my daughters Crispy Organic Chicken. I had the beef tenderloin with Brussel sprouts. The star dish of the table was definitely the Crispy Chicken. Desserts were fantastic, carrot cake had no nuts but was very good, my son got the chocolate lava cake and although small he didn't seem to mind and totally killed it! My daughter got the homemade chocolate chip cookie....it was huge but it was "just like grandma" used to make it. All desserts were gone!Next time we are in the city we will probably not come back only because of the seating situation for us. But if you don't mind a closer table situation or your a smaller human then us tall folks the food was great.
Be the first to ReplyJoJo was such a special experience.
A small beautiful restaurant, you walk in and are immediately greeted by welcoming staff, and every table is a great seat. The whole restaurant feels romantic, a great spot to bring a loved one. The food was spectacular and tasted so fresh. I without doubt will be coming back - a secret jewel of the upper east side.
Be the first to ReplyInteresting living room like decor.
Paid my $50 to secure my reservation and was promptly seated on a Tuesday night.Good quality definitely very high, presentation was good. I felt some of apps lacked originality. Not much value. The entrees were better, my halibut was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Very balanced dishes with the right flavors. My main takeaway from the place is overall the dining experience is more of a quick dine then leave. The noise level is just too much, because the sound bounces off the walls too good. I think they probably had sound insulation to keep the neighborhood quiet but any little talking is echoed off the walls and becomes very deafening to your conversations. I hope the owners address the noisy and sound issue otherwise I can't return due to the sound issues.

I'll keep it short - A-mazing! Causal a hip w the beautiful people - away from the busy streets - hidden gem! Lobster - the best!!!! Crunchy salmon - soooooo good! Crab dumplings - oh wow!!! What the DUCK?? So fine!!! Doesn't get much better! Yum - ohhhh!
Be the first to ReplyToday, I met an old friend for brunch.
It's a beautiful restaurant located in a brownstone on the upper East side. I had a warm shrimp salad with mushrooms and greens. It was light, delicious and filling. I had to try the Expresso Martini. It was my first time trying an Expresso Martini. I am a coffee lover and this drink was perfect. I highly recommend this place.

I still feel ill from the restaurant and here's why: the air conditioner was broken and the manager informed us it broke 2 days ago, TWO DAYS AGO. Why this wasn't fixed is beyond me. A friend in from out of town, we all ate our food drenched. It was one of the work dining experiences i have ever had, and i eat out quite often. The servers couldn't be nicer, but the quality of the food matched with the discomfort was so upsetting. Who doesn't call you to tell you before to at least gibe you a choice to find a different restaurant. Horrible.
Be the first to ReplyHad been wanting to try JoJo for a long time.
Sadly, everything about it was disappointing. First impression was not good: hostess in torn jeans, kicks & an oversized, sloppy shirt who behaved as though she was doing me a favor when I requested we be seated inside instead of outside. I immediately noticed that the empty restaurant was uncomfortably hot, an unfortunate condition that only got worse as more people arrived. We were literally perspiring the entire time we were in the restaurant. I ordered a Negroni which was average, at best. We ordered from the "restaurant week" menu which was $60 for two courses. The fried shrimp, which were under seasoned & lacked even a hint of bottarga, were unpleasantly iodiney. We then split the fettuccine and salmon. Other fine dining establishments usually spilt the food in the kitchen. Here, they plopped both plates in the middle of the table and zipped away without providing any serving utensils. The food did not accurately reflect the menu descriptions: fettuccine lacked any pistachio flavor & did not contain discernible peas and the salmon sat on purรฉed corn, nothing even resembling a "pudding" with nary a tomato in sight. We then ordered the peach pie which was warm and delicious but again, no knife to split it. Overall, the service was almost nonexistent, the food, bland, unexciting and mediocre and the atmosphere, loud & stifling. Not what I expect at this price point or from this chef.
Be the first to ReplyThis is by far one of the most disappointing meals I've had.
It's very different from my experience a few years back. I came here for the restaurant week menu. Calamari is not on the regular dinner menu. I should have noticed that as a flag to start with. It's extremely salty, burned and I'd say it's merely a bar food standard. We sat at the table by the kitchen so all we smell was the burned calamari since we arrived. Salmon was very well cooked. So that's a highlight.Service was so so. They did not know who ordered what and misplaced our dish, which was surprising. In addition, I ordered a bottle and the wine didn't come until we were half way finished our appetizers.

We were late dining so the service wasn't that great but the food was good. Great option in the hood.
Be the first to ReplyThis was by far one of my favorite meals.
I had the burrata and the duck. I was incredibly impressed by how perfectly everything was curated. My du k was cooked perfectly and full of flavor; I had one of the best chocolate chip cookies ever. It was such a great atmosphere, and the service was tremendous.
Be the first to ReplyAri M invited 12 of us to a birthday dinner at JoJo's.
Jean-Georges transformed an Upper East Side townhouse into a small, casual and contemporary restaurant. While the downstairs entrance, 5-seat bar and narrow dining room feel a bit cramped, the parlor floor has high ceilings, beautiful windows and an airy, warm ambiance. Luckily our 12-seat table was upstairs in a semi-private space. The hostess was super friendly and gracious. Ditto our server! They made sure we were welcomed and comfortable before and throughout our meal. We all started with specialty craft cocktails. While the special Pride Month 'Love Wins Every Thyme' was a popular choice for NYC Pride weekend, I'm glad I picked the 'Watermelon & Cilantro' - Breckenridge Gin, Cilatron, Celery bitters and lime. It was so good I almost ordered a second one, but was already feeling a buzz LOL. Now I have to search for Cilatron. My Sugar Snap Peas, Cucumber, Serrano Chili Salad was an interesting combination of ingredients. Generously drizzled with citrus dressing and Crรจme Fraรฎche, even without lettuce it ended up being a beautifully plated, awesome tasting spicy salad. We shared an appetizer of Peekytoe Crab Dumplings, Goldbar Squash Infusion, Black Pepper and Lemon Balm. The dumplings were divine! I could've eaten the entire appetizer by myself. My Charred Duck Breast, Strawberry and Mustard Seed Pickle entree came with Quinoa and lots of Snap Peas. It was cooked to perfection! In all honestly, my favorite dish of the night were special shared side bowls of cooked (blanched and stir fried?) Snap Peas (it's a common theme for my dinner!), Spring Vegetables, all tasting garden fresh and spectacular. I've never had mixture of snap peas, asparagus and other green veggies tasting quite like this before. I could almost turn vegetarian...at least for the day.
Be the first to ReplyWent here recently with a party of four.
Great ambience, very good service, very good food that everyone enjoyed. Everyone in our party said they'd be happy to return, which is high praise from our judgmental group. If you want a more casual fine dining experience then I highly recommend you try JoJo.
Be the first to ReplySituated in the quaint neighbourhood of the Upper East
Situated in the quaint neighbourhood of the Upper East Side, JoJo can be found in a townhouse rather inconspicuously. However, it is by no means tucked away as any passerby is likely to stop and look at their patio and outdoor setup - just in time as spring blooms. Their dinner menu consists of a variety of dishes that reflected the setting and seasons: light, airy, and full of life. For 3, we ordered the following: warm shrimp salad, spicy yellowfin tuna tartara lettuce cups, avocado, shiso, steamed black sea bass with spring peas, ginger scallion and lime, charred duck breast with parsnip, rhubarb, morels and mustard suace, and roasted asparagus with mint. The spicy yellowfin tuna is a rather bite sized lettuce wrap, and is a very light course to start your appetite with. Next came the steamed black bass - steamed to perfection and mixed with the spring peas resembled closely a Chinese dish that really hit the spot for us. Though steamed without the extra sauces and everything else, the sea bass soaked up all the flavour from the ginger scallion and spring peas. A personal favourite was the charred duck breast (medium well). I highly recommend dabbing it in the mustard sauce and grabbing all the sides. The wonderful mix of different textures simply dissolves in your mouth. With asparagus in season now, we just had to go for it as a side. At the end, the famous carrot cake to top off the night! Overall, a great spot for a myriad of occasions - that's why versatile I felt JoJo was, especially if you are looking for someplace with no frills and well thought out dishes, JoJo is your answer.

This place is great and the 3 tables on the 2nd floor are especially nice if you can get a seat. What set this place apart for me though was the service. My wife got an excellent job offer and we had brunch reservations at another place to celebrate. Other place didn't follow any of requests even after making us wait so long. We were fed up, left, and came upon Jojo. I told the host what transpired and they "made it happen" at their restaurant. Got us a good seat and seated us in a reasonable amount of time for a walk-in. Food was great. My wife and 2.5 year old daughter had a nice time celebrating. Would come again for brunch or dinner.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious brunch! Will return.
Great service. Relaxing morning. Felt like we were in Europe
Be the first to ReplyI like this place! Made the reservation on Resy.
Definitely will revisit to try the desert next time. 5/5 Maine lobster with fries. Very flavored and the fries are crispy.5/5 kale salad4/5 pancake
Be the first to ReplyService is very unfocused.
ย Asked for my French fries twice and never got them. ย Not unpleasant, but just lacking focus, care. Rest room trash overflowing. ย Bar filled with dirty plates and glasses.

Brunch menu is kind of small but it's tasty and the vibes are on point here! We ordered the pancakes, frittata, eggs Benedict and the avocado toast. Everything was loved by everybody. The pancakes were a big hit and the syrup was the more watery kind which is the best. Staff was very friendly which was an added plus. Their dinner menu looks nice so would love to come back.

I've eaten in restaurants all over this country and this was, without a doubt, one of my top culinary experiences. The staff was courteous and attentive. The food was extraordinary. Do you yourself a favor and visit this restaurant if you are in Manhattan.
