If you want overpriced and overrated tacos come to this
If you want overpriced and overrated tacos come to this place. Not only was all the staff rude, they have attitudes for everything. We struggled to get a spot to sit after spending $80 on 4 tacos and a drink. Finally, we found a spot but it was under a tree/also way too small of a space. This was just an embarrassing place to be on so many levels. Also - you'll notice that when you go it seems like they pay influencers to promote this place as they are constantly taking pictures. I also over heard about 5 girls get free tacos, just a little bit of a weird place when you over charge reg customers then give it out for free in front of us. Seems like a fake place with fake reviews to me. The tacos were all messy and hard to eat. Just an ultimate fail here really. Don't go unless you want to waste money and be treated like trash. Or - if you are an influencer hit them up for free food..
Be the first to ReplyCame here for happy hour.
They have seating up front and in the back (front more casual and back more vibey). I tried the kobe beef taco ($5) which was correctly described to us as an upgraded Taco Bell and was filling. We shared the tostados ($9) as pictured which were tasty. Great drink deals. Peach cobbler for the birthday dessert for the birthday girl was very good as well.
Be the first to ReplyHappy hour is a must.
This restaurant is beautiful, so intentionally decored. Our server was very friendly, made sure we got our orders in as desired. We came by for happy hour on a Friday (5 - 6:30pm) to a lovely menu. $8 margaritas was hard to pass up on (so I ordered 3). Tacos were around $5 each and these are not the classic small street tacos, these are substantial. The back room was very cozy & energizing at the same time. The one thing I probably wouldn't order again is the guac. It was okay; but nothing special. I'll definitely back for happy hour again to explore the main menu a bit more. Thanks Jonah's.
Be the first to ReplyThis is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in LA.
The vibes are immaculate. The food is second to none. The Tiki bar is amazing. The drinks are incredible (Adam is the best bartender around). Jonah is one of the nicest guys I've met as is true of all management and employees at the restaurant. Reza is the GOAT of hospitality. CANNOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING MORE THAN JONAHS

Great happy hour and ambiance! The drinks are great and good wine! The trees and lights make for a great setting.
Be the first to ReplyFood was on point.
I was surprised by that. The service was also on point. I had the lomo, grilled shrimp and oysters, all bangers. The crowd was hip and young. Music was ok. This place was the real deal
Be the first to ReplyVery cute and romantic ambiance.
We went at 5:30 for Happy Hour. The service was great and the food was even better. The tacos were very good and a decent size.

I've been 5 or 6 times and should have reviewed this place long ago. The food, service, and ambiance are all excellent, every single time. I met Jonah last time I was there and he was the nicest guy! 10/10 recommend.

If you're dining at Jonah's Kitchen, consider yourself very fortunate. The owner has put his blood, sweat and tears into his restaurant, which reflects in the decadent menu items. I've dined here many times and the K-town chicken is one of the best dishes I have ever experienced. For those of you that are complaining about the small things, you are missing out on the bigger picture. This place is a gem and Santa Monica is lucky to have it there. Enjoy the ambiance, as few places can match the experience you are guaranteed to have here.
Be the first to ReplyLove the food and the vibe.
Really high quality ingredients. Generous portions. A gem indeed.

The food and ambience were lovely but the service was absolutely terrible. It was not crowded but a server was not assigned to our table, and so we waited 15 min just to get water. Then they forgot part of our order, never asked about salsa or condiments and took a long time to get the check when we asked. We almost just walked out! The food was decent but overpriced. I wish i could provide a more positive review-We were hopeful!

Friendly, warm, and quick service. Scrumptious, divine food. Jonah's Kitchen + Bar is very well deserving of 5 stars. Everything that we tried was phenomenal. If I had to pick two favorites, they'd be the Spanish Octopus and the Lomo Saltado. The octopus was spiced to perfection and so succulent. The fillet was tender, juicy and sauced perfectly. Everything else was authentic and delicious. This spot is unassumingly located on 26th and Wilshire. Easy to miss. But you should make an effort to get here for your next dinner out. You won't be sorry that you did!

Cute new spot on Wilshire! It's all self service you grab a menu upon waking in and place your order at the counter, then grab your silverware and water and glasses and find a table! Decor is beautiful, eclectic and lots of plants Food and drinks are brought to you via a number given to you with your order- smart business set up for sure! Ensures quick service. We got the guac and tostadas, great flavor, wagyu beef taco which was great; pollo taco which was good but a bit on the bland and dry side - needed a good sauce on there but that's just me! My bf had the brisket sandwich and the house made pickles were forgotten but damn was that sandwich BOMB. I got a margarita made with mezcal instead of tequila and the mix was a little watery for my liking so I got a $7 house shot to add to it and voila! Perfect! You can see the meats smoking above the open flame stove top / grill and the seating area in the back is a very lovely vibe for a date night or drinks with friends! In the back there's also a bar you can directly order (just booze) from! I will say it's been insanely humid here in LA lately so that back patio area has zero breeze or fans or ac which cut our stay short as we were drilling sweat but such is summer in socal! The owner was walking (Jonah himself maybe? ) around checking in on tables which is always a nice, friendly relaxed touch. We'll definitely be back to try more items!

The ambiance alone draws you in; seeing all the sparkling lights with natural greenery. Ordering 1st then finding a spot has a unique approach to fine dining. Welcoming atmosphere, seeing the owner Tetris the tables around to accommodate the parties coming in. Great to see a hands on approach with greeting from all members. My mouth was saltivating before I even tasted the deliciousness I was about to encounter. The drinks were great, not heavy handed with alcohol but did the job.Elegant presentation with the food made it so desirable to taste. Flavourful with the right amount of touch. I cant say enough how fresh the sashimi Ahi tuna was. Crispy potatoes, seasoned to perfection. Chipotle cream corn had me wanting more!Definitely a hidden gem; Thursday a DJ was there fun, to engage everyone for karaoke Don't sleep on this place if you're seeking a classy, chill, vibe with amazing food!

Food was good but their execution for the concept and service was horrible. We waited for extra 30 mins to get our fries which were supposed to come with our sandwiches and the soft drink we ordered never even came after we asked for it 3 times. We gave up and left without getting it. Also, house picked vegetables were added with so much juice our sandwiches were swimming in it... Pity because place has a nice patio and good food, but service wasn't good and we could not enjoy our time there...
Be the first to ReplySuch a delicious pork pork sandwich.
Cute place! Beautiful inside, great vibes, music. Lots of candles, we loved the atmosphere! Great service. We enjoyed it! So nice.
Be the first to ReplyI'm actually shook at how good this meal was.
Every single thing we ate (vegan, brisket and wagyu tacos, truffle potatoes, corn) was phenomenal. The vibes were also immaculate - the back room with the gorgeous tree and twinkle lights set the tone for a fantastic dinner. Can't wait to come back!

I wanted to like this place, the menu itself is good, the vibe is giving Tulum. Unfortunately, they're trying to be something they're not. Service is slow and staff is somewhat rude and standoffish. Although, the owner was cool. They're not full service, it's an order at the counter and seat yourself situation, but with prices higher than Javier's. One of our dishes was pretty good, the other with the brisket was dry and cold. The front feels claustrophobic with everyone standing in line to order, so I would recommend the back room if you do go. Again, I wanted to love it, they may be finding their footing but this was my experience.
Be the first to ReplyJonah's far exceeded our relatively high expectation.
Serious food and cuisine with a casual vibe. Ceviche was top notch. Fresh, bright, and well balanced. Lamb chops , served a la carte , were cooked to near perfection. Tacos were all a hit. K Town chicken was a fan favorite and a must order. All the cocktails were good and service was friendly & attentive. Great for a fine dining on a casual vibe. Date nights. Or even just for drinks in their backroom.

Very good fusion of Korean seasoning with protein on the grill. Generous servings of wine. And great people like Emani to make this a great spot for a casual dinner experience.

You place your order at the counter seat your self with a number and wait for food. Ambiance is super cool plants everywhere sky light above main floor. Food was incredible. I had the brisket which was very flavorful fatty parts were very salty. Drinks were balanced and tasty. Although prices were way to high for the serving size.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was below par and grossly overpriced.
The portions are small and the food is not great. Disappointed on their rendition of Peruvian food. The ambiance is trendy. This is a place just to grab a drink, but not food.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time here.
The staff was great. The food was good. The owner Jonah was there, he circulated around the room greeting and talking to people. I was there with a friend, both not the demographics that were there that evening. Jonah when moving around and socializing, seemed to look at our table, but not see us enough to stop by and ask us how things were, even though, he checked in at other tables. I understand that when you reach a certain age, you become invisible, so to speak, in certain settings. Perhaps, he should take into account that my demographic likes to be seen as well.l
