Highly recommended
I rarely repeat Indian restaurant, only because we cook Indian food at home. But two restaurants in NYC I would go again and one of them is Junoon. Restaurant has changed the dinner format , first it was a la carte, after pandemic , its course menu. We went to celebrate our anniversary , and the restaurant was informed . we chose to go there because we like Junoon's impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. We did enjoy our evening and I would highly recommend , to try almost every thing but since you can't do that, Jaljeera, masala ribs, eggplant chat , haleem must have. Nadru for veg options , lal maas, butter chicken! and for dessert kulfi chocolate mousse, sorbet.

Overall great experience from reservations to our way out. Cocktails and food - both elevated Indian cultural traditions with a modern touch and exquisite decor and presentations. Accented by courteous and knowledgeable staff.

Visited this restaurant right after a trip to India and was very impressed with the quality, presentation and service. All the dishes, including dessert, were first-rate. Looking forward to eating here again!

Be the first to ReplyNot worth the visit
Starter was sent back as it was dry. Replaced with a better made dish. Mains came out and sauce was hot but meat was cold. We left during our main as it was just not worth it. The price doesn't match the food. Really expensive for a below par dinner. Knowing what I know now I wish I never went. Very disappointed.

beautiful restaurant with great staff. Good selection of drinks. Craving for some good spicy dinner. Bit disappointed with the food. The laas maal and the mavani fish both faired below expectations. I expect my food to be piping hot with the right kick of spices. Garlic naan was good. Our expectations were high. Will return to try something different.

Excellent Indian food. The table can do either a three or six course meal. While some dishes are more easily shareable, it is not a traditional family style Indian meal. The three course meal is an excellent value.

The appetizers were the most interesting. We enjoyed the Eggplant Chat as well as the Pea Chat. The meat eaters were happy with the chicken appetizer (Ghost) as well as the goat main entree. So many vegetable options each delicately and perfectly seasoned.

Great food and service! We went with a group of friends and allowed the waiter to choose for us. It was delicious and so flavorful. The staff are so professional and welcoming. They took great care of us. Can’t wait to go again.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, great service and a very pleasant ambience - a must go for great Indian food!
We ordered chicken tikka and matar chaat for starters and Fish Lalvani, chicken biryani, chicken lababdar and garlic and cheese naans for main course and everything was authentic and delectable! We totally enjoyed the meal and the service was also top quality! The cocktails were also great.
Be the first to ReplyIndian cuisine worthy of a return visit
The cuisine is Indian-fusion and there were many Indian families there celebrating Mother’s Day. I’m typically not a fan of Indian cuisine, but this experience changed my mind! We loved the creativity of the dishes - beautiful and flavorful! We look forward to returning!
Be the first to ReplyBest Indian food
Probably the best Indian food I ever tried. Innovative, without overwhelming spices, appropriately portioned, nice presentation. Excellent wine selection and knowledgeable sommelier. Rice pudding is out of this world. Wonderful service. To my delight, great vegetarian menu options. This restaurant is not to be missed.

Service is good Ghost chicken is good As meat is perfectly done Hakeem is good Ribs are great Main course - lobster moily nice . Biryani is made well . Malvani fish is good. Lamb chops needs work - something not right with the meat , spice Spinach bread, naan and Roti was great Desserts were good - suggest you work a bit more on making them better Ambience for dinner is average - think about making it a hit more interesting Overall the experience was nice
Be the first to ReplyGreat dinner !
Amazing food, great service and ambience The spice level and the sauces to complement it was perfect ! The only thing I found not as impressive was the dessert, though my friend thought it was great - not too sweet and a great medley
Be the first to ReplyInteresting twists to traditional indian dishes
I find Indian food in the US pretty meh. Hence we rarely eat Indian food with any interest and if we have to, just because the other choices are worse. Junoon came highly recommended by a lot of friends so we decided to try it out. I personally do not like their model of 3 course or 5 course meal - it seriously prevents one from enjoying the many dishes on offer there. But it's what it is. We went in for the 3 course dinner and since we were four of us, we could order four different items so that we all could taste the dishes. Needless to say, the dishes were all extremely well made, much the same way we would make them at home or better. Very satisfying experience. It's somewhat pricey but its New York and one needs to make one's own value judgement. For me personally the taste and the variety was worth it.

Every aspect of this meal was fabulous. The food was delicious, and beautifully presented. Portions are quite generous no one goes home hungry. The cocktails were also beautiful and very good. Our server Daniel was wonderful, accommodating and always smiling. Highly recommend the rice pudding for dessert, ribs appetizer is amazing and is delivered in an elegant presentation, crispy eggplant, lobster entree, biryani, paneer entrees all delectable.

The food was excellent, so was the ambience and hospitality. Full marks. You have been able to maintain the standards of the great Vikas khanna

5/5 across the board for food, service, cleanliness and decor. Im new to Indian cuisine and was blown away. The staff was very friendly/professional and especially helpful with recommendations. Every suggestion was amazing. We did the 3 course tasting which was a great value. The rib appetizer, lamb chops and duck were all phenomenal, as was the naan. The atmosphere was mildly energetic but light enough to have good conversation. Added bonus for strong drinks and generous wine pours. Our waiter (Daniel, I believe) and a woman who I suspect to be the owner were very attentive. I will surely return. Thanks!

Fantastic and unique flavors and presentation! We took a chances without a reservation due to uncertain timing and got lucky -- seated right away in the front room n a Sunday evening. Ordered a la carte; our app (kale pakora and mint mousse with other flavors) and the telicherry pepper duck main really stood out. Also, three cheers for amazing mocktails! Staff were attentive and friendly, and seemed to genuinely appreciate our questions and my partner's sense of humor. The classic trio dessert offered a variety of flavors without being overwhelmed with sweetness. One warning: be aware that your main will not automatically come with rice, the way it does at most "mainstream" Indian restaurants! Luckily we'd ordered some naan, and could use that to eat the rest of the sauce with the duck breast.

ribs were to die for, delicious junoon version of a Manhattan. service impeccable! thank you! thank you!
Be the first to ReplyGreat intimate dining experience
The restaurant is small but there is plenty of space around the tables. We were seated on time and there was a very noisy party at a nearby table. The staff was kind enough to find us another identical table in a quieter spot, which we greatly appreciated. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food, the drinks and the wine. The food was awesome. This is an expensive restaurant, and for once it’s well worth it.

We had lunch to celebrate a birthday. The staff was extremely enthusiastic and professional. The food and cocktails were unique and delicious. The ambience is warm and inviting. I would highly recommend Junoon Restaurant!

The best meal we had on a recent trip. Previous Michelin Star restaurant but the food and service remain excellent! The 3 course lunch menu was well priced. Absolutely worth visiting!
Be the first to ReplyEclectic offerings of fine Indian cuisine at affordable prices
The restaurant has a warm and rich ambience. The servers are very professional. The cuisine is distinctly Indian but explores less known regions and celebrates a sort of fusion between conventional dishes and lesser known "fun-street" food flavors. Unlike focusing exclusively on regional dishes prevalent in the North Punjab region, Junoon brings an element of diversity in its dishes that offer delectable influences of Kerala and Bengali cuisine. The desert offerings are also very creative with the pan flavored bread pudding using pumpkin seeds being my favorite.
