Orlando's sushi sanctum
This sublime place hosts just eight diners per seating and feels like being wise to a wonderful secret. Best sushi in Orlando.

This was a unique Sushi dinner with fish we had never tried before and a very special service. Very small venue with very relaxed atmosphere
Be the first to ReplySushi night ! Plenty of it !
Small restaurant. Only seats 8 . Loved it Sushi is out of this world . We ate fish that we are probably not going to eat ever again unless we go back which I wouldn’t mind. Casual and simple place is like you are seating around a table at home and a family member is making delicious sushi for you to eat . Expensive yes! But it was worth it !

Extremely expensive, but lived up to the hype. Only serves 16 people a night so it was difficult to get a reservation

My wife and I had a phenomenal experience dining at Kadence for dinner yesterday evening. Kadence is an Omakase style sushi restaurant with communal bar seating around the chef’s prep area. Capacity is limited to eight people during each dinner service so reservations and up front payment are a requirement. The dinner experience is $225 per person and worth every penny. The menu is always changing and dependent on what is fresh and seasonal at the time so every experience at Kadence will be a little different. Our dining experience started with light and refreshing Japanese Flounder paired with heavenly cucumber and lemon flavors. Next came a rich and lightly smoky Japanese Striped Jack paired with citrusy-diced fruits. A warm and flavorful Foie Gras Broth with creamy chunks of foie gras was the perfect bridge between the sushi dishes. A beautiful Sashimi Platter with fresh high quality melt in your mouth fish including Tuna, Striped Bass, and Scallop was next. All of this lead to the main event: 12 freshly prepared pieces of sushi. I couldn’t keep track of what each piece was but our menu included Bluefin Tuna, Japanese Amberjack, Japanese Red Snapper, Hamachi, New Zealand Red Snapper, Red Shrimp, and, a finale of Toro with Siberian Caviar. Each piece of sushi was fresh, heavenly, and prepared beautifully. Flavorful Miso Soup with crisp scallions concluded the savory portion of the meal. For dessert we had Smoked Pineapple Sorbet that was lightly sweet with a little spicy kick. I also had the Fantastic Voyage Sake Tasting that included seven different sakes through the dinner service. Each sake was phenomenal and complimented the dinner nicely. This was an additional $80. Kadence is a sushi lovers dream and a must splurge when visiting Orlando.
Be the first to ReplyLoved it! ...but
The food quality is exceptional & the chef had some exquisite preparations. My issue is Experience Value v Price. You book online and can see a month ahead. I found an opening & booked it. The gift certificate they sold me was short... $45. Because we source from Japan. But chef said several things were sourced from a friend in Titusville (still excellent, but). So, you pay in advance, and the amount due looked odd. With each iteration it grew... to nearly $300, for one. I did add a 3-flight sake (3 shots) but thats all. I've had this kind experience so I kept saying, it's going to be great, can't wait. There were at least 15 courses. 2 Soup/broth, 1 custard, a (rice)cream (?) and sushi/sashimi. Sashimi was normal sized, 4 pcs. & ALL of it great. One of the larger selections was a third of a scallop, on a perfectly sized mound of sticky rice, with a light soy glaze-lovely! That was a large serving. Most items were a single bite. As a 2hr lunch, awesome! Perhaps if you watched chef make everything enjoying the company and serving as a complete meal I may have felt full... ish. For the most part you watch chef slice & create individual pieces and serve... individually... one... at... a... time. Like they say, it's not for everyone. If it were $150 plus sake, drinks tax, tip, I'm still good w/it... $300? Not so much. Enjoy... but...

What an experience. Reminiscent of Enigma in Barcelona, it is by non-refundable reservation only, and seats only 9. But what a meal! And what a show! After a pre-dining drink in the adjoining bar, we took our seats, and the staff began a seemingly choreographed preparation of a series of incredible dishes, each as tasty as beautiful. Commentary grew into two-way banter, and a performer/audience dynamic emerged. There are 2 sittings at 6:00 and 8:30, but our show ran overtime. A special occasion restaurant for us, simply because of the drive. But if I lived in Winter Park, I'd be there frequently.

As a restaurant manager myself, I can’t commend this place more. All too often, restaurants get into a quantity over quality mindset, but Kadence holds true to itself knowing their quality will keep them sold out night after night. The amount of passion and heart that goes into each course puts Orlando restaurants to shame. It’s worth every penny and I’m excited to become a regular after such a memorable night with this team. Thank you so much for such an incredible night out.

Was in Orlando for a business trip and we moved our return flight just so we could squeeze in a lunch here, so glad that we did! The space (as other reviews mention is tiny) won’t only 9 seats at the sushi bar. You pre-pay for the omakase menu as well as optional sake flights when you make your reservations (a note on the reservations, they open on the first day of the month before the date you want to make the reservations). Mark and Lo are exceptional hosts and immodestly make you feel welcome. Their food is absolutely superb - close to, if not the best, sushi I’ve ever had. Despite some comments in other reviews I thought the quantity of food was more than enough. The entire lunch took about two hours and the other diners (all of whom had clearly been coming regularly) were a blast to hang out with. This is an absolute must if you’re in Orlando.
Be the first to ReplyKadence is PERFECTION!
Kadence is by far my favorite sushi in Orlando! The owners are personable and truly make the fine dining experience unique for everyone. Only sitting nine guests makes the experience private and extremely enjoyable. Great spot for a date night or special occasion

Perhaps for the price we expected more and we went at the early $80pp rate. I could not imagine how under impressed we would have been paying full freight. We came as a party of 6 for the 4pm dinner. They were going to sit us around the corner of bar which would have been great, but a single guest not part of our party insisted on sitting at the end so we spread out along the bar making conversation a little difficult. Great choice of music but the volume was a bit loud. No explanation from the staff about how the meal was going to go. Little to no explanation during the prep and meal of the fish we were eating. In most cases we were just given a name. Most of the fish tasted the same. The rest tasted either of ginger or wasabi depending on how it was prepared. The easiest way to describe it would be average and below average when you account for the price point. Do not under any circumstance expect to leave feeling full. They say thats its about the experience but for the price you pay.....will not return. Will not recommend to F/F.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Experience here in the U.S.
If you conquer the evening “omakase” here, you are ready to tackle all authentic sushi as well as all Japanese “Kaiseki” and every dish Japanese when you get to Japan. You don’t need to go to Japan. You’ve graduated cum lauded from Japanese cuisine and sake if you go here. I havn’t though paid this much since Daniel’s in NYC or Inn of Little Washington in Paris, Virginia. I am told lunch is much, much cheaper but they are not open all the time. Lots of young couples were there for seats of only 10 and one sitting at 6:00 pm. As far as I can judge, no sign of restaurant to speat of. Just a black box, very minimalistic. Trio of young wonderful chefs, very friendly but know there stuff.
