This is a trendy Hollywood spot that certainly has a cool, earthy vibe to it. The waiters and maitre d' were very friendly (rare in this part of town!). I'd say for the price point, it's fine. I shared the queso, lamb and cochinito dishes with a friend and had churros + ice cream to top us off. None of the food is STAND OUT MUST-TRY, but the flavors are authentic in the main dishes. I didn't care for the churros and queso - felt the queso could have more dimension to it and the chips were fine. Same for the churros, just fine!

I LOVED Ka'teen!! Everything from the cool entrance to service to food and entertainment! There are essentially two areas you can be seated , the outside in the lush green gardens that are equipped with heaters, or the dimly lit bar area with tulum style basket lanterns hanging from above. We sat outside and it was perfect. The music was calm jungle vibes. The service was excellent. Thank you Day! We had the yucca fries, papas bravas, and the chicken entree. Everything was perfect. The flavors were delicious. For dessert we had the tres leche panna cotta which I'm still dreaming about!!! The cocktails were also great. There was a fire artist which was pretty cool to observe but even without it, this place is unique.

I went here for dinner prior to seeing a play at the Pantages, which is about 3/10 of a mile away. I really knew nothing about the restaurant other than some of the reviews and what type of food it was boy , my girlfriend and I were so surprised -from the minute we walked in we loved the check in gals, . We loved the vibe the whole look. The service was completely out of this world, and the food was delicious, interesting and unique. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully will bring more friends. It's a bit pricey but I think it's worth it.

Came here for my birthday LAST YEAR and finally got to writing a review. Tulum right in my backyard. The decor effortlessly blends rustic charm with modern elegance, mirroring the laidback yet sophisticated vibe of my fav vacation spot. House music in the background gave summer in tulum vibes. Each plate came out beautifully presented and all instagram worthy. The drinks are STRONG. I got tipsy off of a few sips. Perfect place for a cute date night or girls night out.
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere, service, and food are the best.
It's the hottest restaurant in Hollywood. It's a place where you can have a great time with good people. I highly recommend it.

So there are good restaurants, great restaurants, and then on occasion, you come across a gem! This one is simply The Next Level, from start to finish. Food was exquisite, service second to none. Setting fantastic, a tele transportation, to one of our best remembered place in Mexico!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood.
Drinks and food were delicious. Perfect place to bring a date. Or a group a friends to have a classy dinner. Highly recommend.

Be the first to ReplyBeautiful outdoor restaurant located at the Tommie hotel!
Beautiful outdoor restaurant located at the Tommie hotel! Food was delicious, the main courses were my favorite but a few appetizers lacked salt-- for example the Baja caesar and queso fundido. Entertainment during dinner made the entire experience very enjoyable. The fire breather dancer is great. Waiter was attentive and professional! Reservations are recommended for larger parties and they allow you 3 hours of time. During the end of our dinner, an employee did let us know that the table was needed for another reservation and said we are welcome to visit the rooftop bar or fire-pits if we wanted to continue our celebrations. Our party of 8 ordered: -camarones a la diabla - 5/5 -aguachile - 5/5 - potato taquitos - 5/5 - quesdilla - 5/5 - caesar salad - 4/5 - queso fundido - 3/5 - short rib - 4/5 - cochinita pibil (pork) - 5/5 - pescado zarandeado (branzino) - 5/5 - pollo asado - 5/5 - papas bravas - 5/5 - corn esquite - 5/5 We all ordered drinks, but mine was the Luna Verde cocktail which was very refreshing and fresh.

This place is the number one place to go If you want Tulum tropical vibes. We went here for my boyfriend's birthday and it was an amazing experience. When you first enter there is a tropical wicker type hallway tunnel that you walk through before you are greeted by the hostess. (Be sure to make a reservation this place is popular) as we walk through many leaves and lanterns we get escorted to our table. We were located right in the center of all the lights and ambiance. The staff were friendly, drinks were strong, food was perfectly presented and seasoned. We ordered the steak, papas, corn, black beans and rolled tacos. We spent about $230 bucks for everything and we left a generous tip for the exceptional service.

Be the first to ReplyHollywood Hollywood! Parking is always going to be bad.
There is public parking across the street from the restaurant but of course FULL LOT right! Paid for valet at 20 bucks on the weekend! The restaurant is hidden in the sense that the name is nowhere to be seen. Outside you will only see the name Tommie, and the valet guy. The restaurant opens at 6pm. Once they let you in there is a lot of green and some candles on the floor. You check in and keep in mind you have 90 minutes to eat and go! That's just a policy they got. Music was just a bit loud for me. Service was good our waitress knew the menu and recommended good things since they have their own concoctions of drinks. Food! Ordered some oysters and what they call taquitos de papa (potato tacos) with some sort of semi spicy sauce on top which was good. But 2 for about 10 bucks yikes! The carne asada was tender I won't take that away! But being Latino the carne asada was prob something I could've done at home. The frijoles de hoya (beans) were very home like. Not impressed to be honest especially for the price. Turn off for me and not to get political or anything crazy but what threw me off was a the 5% health fee they tac on to your bill. That is not part of your tip it's just a fee the assess to your bill. I wanted change for a 10 to tip the valet guy. One of the waitresses told me they are really cashless and didn't have change. I said okay! Walked up the bar and asked the gentleman if he can maybe give me change and he rudely told me they are a cashless bar. I honestly didn't appreciate that. But I wasn't going to make a scene for change. Again our waitress was good and efficient. But the rest was just simply okay!

Trendy restaurant with Tulum vibes which seems to be a current common theme in Los Angeles. Ka'teen is one of the most popular in that category so be prepared and make a reservation! We arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation so we grabbed drinks at the bar and were seated shortly after at a fantastic table. The server was friendly and able to provide lots of information on the various dishes. My husband is vegan, so I love that there are vegan options.Highlights* The signature margarita cocktail is delicious and comes in a cute little clay pot topped with burning sage.* Potato taquitos (we made ours vegan by excluding the cheese)* Mushroom Birria (vegan delish, interesting flavors)* Lamb (TENDERRR)* Yuka Frita (the perfect size that comes with yummy aรฏoli sauces)Lowlights* Tacos Fritos (pretty basic)* Side of Corn (slightly off-putting, my husband and I could swear that we tasted a hint of chocolate. After mentioning it to the staff, they checked with the chef, and we learned that they put coconut milk in it. Didn't find that particular flavor to be necessary)* Beans (meh)Overall, I give this place 4 stars because the ambience is a vibe, the cocktails are fantastic, and the price points are fair. If you're curious about Ka'teen, definitely check it out.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed.
The ambiance is great, really lovely atmosphere. The food however - the cochinita pibil came out lukewarm, as if it was from nights before and just reheated, the yuca was very hard, the camarones a la diabla prawns were not very flavorful, they lacked true seasoning and flavor. Was very excited to go here but not impressed with the food at all which was upsetting.

Loved the quality of the food (but some was little bit salty for my taste )Service was outstanding Ambiance is cozy and nice I just was disappointed I couldn't passed by that stunning tunnel in the entrance I was expecting to see from the pictures of social media ... I asked and they said it is planning to be rebuilt it I hope to see it next time !

I came here for a girls night to celebrate my birthday and I was able to make a reservation for 9 people without a problem. They do have a minimum spend per person but we went well over that, so don't let that scare you! First off all the place is DIVINE! They say it gives Tulum vibes and it does! Love the greenery and the tunnel, everything is just so beautiful! The cocktails... also super delicious! I tried the Ay Maria, the Gypsy Fever and the Witchdoctor and each of them were unique in their own way! There were a lot of us and we were very hungry so we ordered almost everything on their menu. The ones that stood out the most were the potato taquitos, campechana ceviche, queso fundido, pescado zarandeado, cochinita pibil, and the mushroom birria! You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu honestly! I definitely will be back really soon with my husband! Thank you for hosting my birthday!

Terrible customer service and reservation service. Reached our multiple times before being told they only take reservations 2 weeks in advance. Which is fine. But when I tried to contact them 2 weeks out to make reservations, I was completely ghosted. Tried calling only to be told to email them, but no one gets back to you if you email.

Eh not that bad not that great either ! The drinks look cute & the food is not a big deal ! You basically pay for the place which is kinda popular recently ! You will spend minimum 100$ for each person. Plus the vallet parking was 25 or 35?! I don't exactly remember . It's nice to try once , but I wouldn't go back cuz it's overpriced !
Be the first to ReplyAnother typical Hollywood joint.
Ambiance is great, very picturesque. Service was up to par and friendly/helpful. Let me tell you about the food and the price...lolThe food is OK. The mole was the best thing I ate. For the price, I was expecting some gourmet shit! The pollo asado was bland, the esquite was good. The oysters was good. Again nothing to blow your socks off. There's way better food in LA for half the price. But you're paying for the vibe I guess...Also, side note: they have a cocktail (costeรฑito) it has sage burning on it. I thought this was disrespectful IYKYKWould I come back? Probably not...
Be the first to ReplyI loooooved this place.
Music on point, food on point, vibes on point. I ordered the bass ceviche pescado zarandeado, esquite & papรกs bravas. Above all I felt the service was excellent. Our waitress, Selma, guided us through the menu and recommended these delicious plates. I really liked my experience here and I can't wait to return with friends!
