Came here a while back with my boyfriend and have ordered
Came here a while back with my boyfriend and have ordered takeout as well. I love this place and the staff is all super friendly and helpful. It can get packed pretty quickly since you can't make reservations and it's a bit crowded when you're just standing to get seated at the small bar but other than that, I love this place and the food! I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and have loved all of it!

Went here for lunch on a Saturday and was surprised there was no wait. I went with a friend and we both got the 6 roll meal and 1 cup sake. Everything was so fresh and I love that they serve one at a time so that the rolls stay crunchy. I love coming here
Be the first to Replyi always come at opening to avoid the wait, and i would
i always come at opening to avoid the wait, and i would suggest the same!! there's a paid parking garage right next to it as well. i always get the 6 hand roll set and add on an eel hand roll, and i ask for less rice. it's the perfect lunch! my favorite is the toro hand roll!! they serve the handrolls in intervals around the restaurant, so you wait a bit of time between each round. i'd recommend eating slowly to really savor the flavor. they constantly restock your wasabi and ginger, so the service is great! the setup of the restaurant is like a bar, so i wouldn't say this is a family friendly spot, but i like how they are quick yet high-quality!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and service.
Great vibes inside. 10/10 would recommend! Also, try the salmon sashimi! It's amazing
Be the first to ReplyGreat food Hand rolls are always delicious You only get to
Great food Hand rolls are always delicious You only get to sit at the bar and they make it right there. It's not a big place, but cozy Very nice and quick service Definitely recommend if you're feeling some hand rolls They have set lists or you can order each roll. Parking either in the lots around or on the street
Be the first to ReplyThis was such an unfortunate experience.
I'm used to ordering from Kazunori. The takeout (at least from the Westwood location) has always been prompt and pretty decent for the price. I only recently started trying the hand rolls in person at the Marina Del Rey location. I know that there is always a long line and they have to constantly rush people in and out, so the customer service isn't the best. Like you'll get someone just say "crab." and smack a handroll down in front of you while they wait, not so patiently, for you to finish your food as soon as possible so they can rush you through and get the next paying customer in. It has never been so bad that it's been review-worthy or that noticeable to be just outright unpleasant. And yet, that was the case here at the DTLA location. The food is not good enough to balance out the terrible service. I'll admit we got there late, around 9:20, when their closing time is 10:00 (maybe update the Yelp page also since it says 11:00?). They could have easily told us that they were done for the night, but nope they chose to let us stay just to be jerks to us. The host asked how big our party was (a party of 4) and then after that didn't communicate with us at all. Seats opened up and at one point there were some open seats lined up. Two people in line shoved in front of us and just sat there, and so we thought maybe we were supposed to just sit as soon as there was an open seat. No explanation from anyone though. 3 seats opened up and my friend asked the server if we were allowed to sit and he said "....you can. but it's only 3 people". She also had to literally chase him down. In a one room area. Come on. She said "Oh... then we'll wait then. Or are you guys going to close very soon" and the other woman said "Yeah. In one minute" Okay... so the 3 of us sit at the chairs available and one of the members of our party decides to sit at a chair way off to the side. Suddenly the two people next to us got their receipt. We told our friend to come over next to us. The hostess tells him he can't order because the people haven't left yet (she also scoffs). Then the other host goes over to him and tells him "are you going to order or not?" The woman then comes back and says "why don't you join your friends" ?????? ???????? Again, why not tell us that you're closed for the night instead of just being extremely rude and contradictory?? It was two of our birthdays, we had already made the effort to meet in DTLA, so we decided not to make a fuss and we stayed to eat (how foolish of us) The actual chefs were fine, but we could not enjoy the food because of how rude the hosts were, and they didn't even make eye contact with us the rest of the night until the end when one of them said "hope you have a great night!" after we already paid.... I hate to be this person but it really feels like the 16% gratuity fee just made it easier for them to be so rude. We were really just some extra money squeezed in at the end of the night to them. Disappointing. This review will most likely do nothing, because all of the other reviews complaining about the terrible service doesn't seem to have an effect on the restaurant actually making an effort to have good service. Sadly, I don't think we'll go to any of the locations ever again.
Be the first to ReplyFood was decent, but the service was really bad.
They changed 16% service charge for my to go order which is not acceptable.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious and fresh sushi.
Small and intimate place with not a lot of seating so expect a wait during busy hours. Not really any parking but thats downtown for you. Can find a pay parking lot nearby.
Be the first to ReplyLove the freshly made hand rolls with warm sushi rice.
It makes a difference when you have crispy nori, with warm rice and your choice of fish. I love that they started to expand to sashimi options. There can be a long line and recommend to go during off peak hours. Another option is to get their rolls to go and eat outside. Ugh, not the same experience though. This is a cozy and quick eating experience. You pick how many rolls you would like to have and sit at the counter. There's a pre-set hand roll selection or you can have a la carte options. They serve you one roll at a time giving you plenty of time to finish your roll before the next one comes up. Parking is safest in the parking lot right next to it.
Be the first to ReplyThis is still the best hand roll spot I've ever been to in
This is still the best hand roll spot I've ever been to in LA! the concept is easy. You line up (no reservations) and you pick a set menu once you're seated. The ambiance was pretty dark and its bar stool seating only. Of course I had to get the 6 piece hand roll! Everything was so good. My favorite fish has always been yellowtail so of course my favorite roll was the one with yellowtail haha! This place will not disappoint! I've had it twice and the quality is good every time!
Be the first to ReplyHad a great first time visit at Kazunori.
I love how intimate the bar is and the smaller menu which makes ordering easier and less confusing. We got the 6 piece hand roll set and our favorites were the yellowtail and bay scallop. The pacing in between each roll was just right in which we weren't waiting too long for the next roll or felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Keep in mind they don't take reservations so there is a line outside on weekends but it goes by fairly quick. Worth a try if you're in the LA area but personally I prefer ROL
Be the first to ReplyNot bad, but giving it a 3/5 because I felt like this place
Not bad, but giving it a 3/5 because I felt like this place was too hyped up. I ordered to-go on for 16 piece & sashimi set for $25 without tax and tip. It tasted kinda exactly like sugarfish which makes sense since they are owned by the same person. I will try it again in person for their handrolls since that is what they're known for
Be the first to ReplyFresh ingredients and really well made rolls without frills.
Service is a bit slow. Nice and dark place, great for date night.
Be the first to ReplyIntimate sushi spot with a limited (but great quality) menu.
I went there for dinner and was seated right away. The menu has a few Handroll sets to choose from (most expensive was $29), sashimi, and a La carte hand rolls. Service was quick!
Be the first to ReplyVery cute place.
.. BUT...When I see a small menu, I actually get excited. Hear me out. If you make just a few dishes, you should really perfect them. In this case, I would expect really well cooked and seasoned rice, the freshest fish, and a good balance of the two ingredients. Right?Oh how wrong I was. Kudos to the owners for brilliant marketing.
Be the first to ReplySo their to go sushi is very good esp for the price.
I mix and match. Then I have a sushi changing experience when I ate inside....it's another level. The hand rolls are the best I've had fresh. Amazing
Be the first to ReplySo delicious! I crave it all the time.
Seating is first come first serve. I came on Sunday at 1pm as a party of 1 and got seared right away. I got the 6 roll set - perfect if you're hungry. Everything is made to order and the fish is very fresh. My favorite is the blue crab, but it's all yummy.
Be the first to ReplyBest hand rolls around, absolutely amazing.
Really fresh fish, and decent sized portions.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, not terribly expensive, quick and fun.
Love eating at the sushi bar setup and love that there's not a huge menu. We were in and out in about 45 min or so. The warm rice in the sushi rolls is so good and comforting.
Be the first to ReplyYum! We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, and went up
Yum! We went for dinner on a Saturday evening, and went up several floors at the public lot next door. I think we waited in line for maybe 10 minutes? It's a tiny little cute spot. We all got the 6 pcs handroll set! I love how attentive they were, as anytime I finished my ginger, more appeared! I super appreciated that, as I eat a LOT of ginger. It's on the darker end in there, but it's a vibe. There's a window with a garage view, and I thought that was kinda funny. I really enjoyed my food though!
Be the first to ReplyI f*cking love this place.
Good food. Good intimate lighting (even though you're all sitting together) Good budget. Chefs kiss. I don't have photo's because, ProTip: you're supposed to eat the Handroll right when it's served!!
Be the first to ReplyFast efficient and delicious! We went for a birthday party,
Fast efficient and delicious! We went for a birthday party, came early to beat the line. We were the first party to be seated, half way through our meal the line was out the door and down the street. Get here early!

Absolutely fantastic, highly recommend. This place is fast, delicious, and consistently flawless. They always get my allergies right and it never disappoints
