Ended up getting takeout because the line to dine in was a little over 40 mins wait. The restaurant is small chef table counter style. Looked perfect for a after work meet up, first date or sushi w a girlfriend. Take out took 20min or less. I ordered the pre made box $25 w Salmon Sashimi plus a 1/2 shrimp roll. High quality sushi forsure a decent price point. Can't wait to dine in next time. What we ordered was enough for two people we were so full.
Be the first to ReplySuper busy location so expect a long wait.
I was never a huge fan of KazuNori. Quality ingredients, average taste, underseasoned rice and too soft (for my preference), and decent pricey. The extra mandatory "fee" is very sneaky and rubbed us the wrong way.
Be the first to ReplyThe food and service is excellent, clockwork.
Always consistent and always busy. Get there early for lunch or off hours. Brown rice options would be appreciated but I realize it isn't authentic.
Be the first to ReplyWaaay better than overpriced overhyped SUGARFISH.
They keep the quality but they give you so much as well especially since it's mainly handrolls. Your money goes a long way with this restaurant. They serve sashimi as well but for me it was way more flavorful than SF. KazuNori stays with consistency and the crowd is always enjoyable. Nobody stuck up or rude it's just always chill in there. The wait time is nowhere near that of SF. You get in, eat and leave. While also enjoying the bustling activity of the restaurant. It's fun it's easy to order food, comes out super fast, and like I mentioned before the quality is superb. Plus your actually by the Marina. Great view and vibe.

I ordered the 4 Hand Roll set with Toro, Yellowtail, Salmon, and Crab. The quality is top-notch. The chefs serve you the rolls one at a time, so the seaweed is still crunchy and fresh and the rice is still warm. The Toro was my favorite. The line moves fast and people are served quickly. The staff were nice and friendly. Noted in a lot of other reviews but there is a 16% gratuity added to the bill with no tipping. Also, the location is great, right on the water. Nice view of the beach and parking is free unlike some of the other locations.

My new favorite hand roll bar! Fast service & all their handrolls are fresh & delicious. I ordered the 6-handroll set (toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab & lobster) and the daily special (ankimo). Loved every one of them! I recommend coming here early & lining up once they open since it does get pretty packed!

The food is delicious, so fresh, so yummy and it's by far my fav sushi. I love the New York location the most because it's more professionally done and organized but this location has a similar vibe. The service is good and the view of the marina is nice.
Be the first to ReplyStill bomb.
I feel like it's a lot of rice this time. I want more fish in my rolls. I ordered also the salmon sashimi in ponzu sauce and it was way fishy. Just some additional comments but I don't want to knock off a bunch of the stars for the overall experience. Still got love for this place.
Be the first to ReplyIt was my first time here.
One of my best friends suggested it because she raves about this place....and I see why! The food was delish! The fish was fresh! The best part? It wasn't even fishy! And they weren't stingy with their pickled ginger! The service was great! I would definitely eat here again! Thank you!

As a man of refined tastes and manners, I was pleased to find that your menu offered a wide variety of sushi options. I partook of the nigiri sushi, and was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and quality of the fish. The rice was cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The wasabi was pungent, but not overpowering, and the soy sauce was of the highest quality. The ambiance of your establishment was also to my liking. The decor was tasteful and understated, with a subtle nod to traditional Japanese design. The lighting was just right, providing a cozy and intimate atmosphere.I must also commend your staff for their impeccable service. They were attentive and courteous, without being intrusive. It was evident that they were well-trained and passionate about their craft. In conclusion, I must say that your sushi restaurant is a true gem. I shall be recommending it to all of my esteemed acquaintances, and look forward to dining at your establishment again in the near future.Yours sincerely,Joshua A.

The sevice was lacking. The system was confusing. Wish someone greeted us qjd explained the menu.We were ignored. Mandatory 16% tip but prices are decent.
Be the first to ReplyWow, this place has the best sashimi I've ever had.
I ordered the albacore and it was truly impeccable. Not sure what type of sauce is on top but I cannot express how delicious it was. Small restaurant so very intimate and very much worth the wait. All of the hand rolls I had were the perfect size and did not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite Japanese sushi places.
It's excellent for light dinner or lunch.Their fish is always fresh, and they provide fast service. I can just walk there from where I live.

Be the first to ReplyThis place is absolutely GOLDEN.
From the location to the food, it's just crazy how much of a gem Kazunori is. I came for Saturday lunch and the line was not bad at all. It's a whole vibe to have bar seating and watching the chefs roll your food for you. $27 for 6 delicious rolls is an absolute steal. The sushi rice tasted amazing, and the fish was very fresh. The part the rolls I liked the most was the seaweed.
Be the first to ReplyLong wait in the cold.
No way to make reservations. Just hand rolls served. Rolls full of rice and short in fish. Really tight seats where you keep touching and bugging the person next to you.

Delicious handrolls! My man and I looked forward to trying this place in SoCal and wondered which of the locations to visit. This location in Marina Del Rey was about 15 minutes away from LAX and had plenty of free parking. It is also right on the harbor so there is a beautiful view of all the boats especially during golden hour. We waited less than 15 minutes at lunchtime on a Friday! My man and I each ordered the 6 rolls assortment for $27. I also enjoyed their yummy and refreshing iced matcha green tea. We loved sitting around the bar watching the chefs roll and all of the staff are so fast and friendly. 6 rolls each were enough for each of us to feel about full!Still craving their handrolls!!
Be the first to ReplyAs usual Kazunori's food quality is amazing.
This particular location is beautiful as it is right next to the docks. Additionally, there is a dedicated parking lot, and parking was really easy!I always go for the 6 hand roll, and the two times I went in the same weekend I also tried the monk fish liver, and the uni, as add-ons, and would highly recommend! My friends also ordered the green tea which they enjoyed. The service here was also very friendly and professional!

This place never fails me! I don't even like hand rolls, but KazuNori makes them the way they should be made. The rice is always warm, the fish fresh, and the seaweed is crispy. The creamy scallop, toro, and eel are my favorites. The lobster and crab were my least favorite and probably two rolls I'll sub out for next time. Great, quick service here, and a great place for a quick meal. We came right at opening and didn't have to wait!

I love this location right by the water, great views of the ocean. The manager here is soo nice and helpful I came with some friends for the their first time. I believe her name was Ashley. She recommended soo many delicious items!Love this place
Be the first to ReplyKazunori doesn't allow for reservations and there isn't
Kazunori doesn't allow for reservations and there isn't really a waitlist. You just wait in line until it's your turn (around 30 minutes when I went). The line goes by relatively quickly since it's bar seating. FLAVOR (4/5):1. 4 HAND ROLL SET MENU (Toro, Yellowtail, Salmon, Crab): I'm a light eater, so this plus the eel hand roll were perfect for me. All the fish were super fresh and balanced nicely with the sweet, warm rice and the crisp seaweed. 2. EEL HAND ROLL: The eel hand roll was light, with a subtle hint of flavor from the sauce they marinated the eel in.One thing to note about all the food I ordered is that although it was fresh and everything was good... it was hard to differentiate between each roll. There wasn't much added flavor (even in the eel hand roll) and all you really take away from it is the texture. SERVICE (5/5):The service was amazing! I ordered hot green tea and once I had finished it I was immediately offered more water -ย that level of attention was nice. AMBIENCE (4/5):The atmosphere was good. I think the seats are a little too close for my liking and the ambient noise was at a level below what I would prefer. But this is just me being nitpicky. TAKEAWAYS:If you like handrolls and have never been to Kazunori before, it's worth a try!
Be the first to ReplyOk, gotta call it when I taste it.
...Ordered take out, showed up before the time stated, food was ready. Happy about that. Man at the front was nice but not very knowledgeable about the menu. I let that go 100%. Now the food......Sorry Kazu, sushi was over the top dry and unnecessarily salty, so it was really overpowering when I dipped just the tip of each piece into soy sauce to give it a bit of moisture. I should have put a few drops of water on each one. I sooo wanted to welcome this sushi chain into my neighborhood, but must say this place is a no-go for us. A true quality sushi fan will understand.I ordered ALL of the takeout rolls BTW. None of them stepped up.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has fresh fish, warm rice, and crispy seaweed.
It's best to order the six roll from the start then add as needed. It's meant to grab a snack, drinks with friends, and a hot date. It's not a place to get full but the quality of food and ambience is top notch for LA standards.
