We had a reservation for 6:30 PM but the main dining room is quite large and I don't think we would've had a problem with walk-in. It wasn't too busy at first but it definitely does pick up. Service was friendly but they did make small mistakes like forgetting one of our extra dishes and throwing away the sticky rice that we wanted to keep. But for the most part they were friendly and professional. For restaurant week my date and I got to try the following items:1) Crispy duck leg w/ smoked chili sauce, pickled onion, grilled country bread: I only got a small bite but it was very meaty and rich but the chili sauce was complex and the pickled onion added some levity. The bite of duck I had was a bit more done than I'd like but still good. (3.75/5)2) Hawaiian Yellowtail w/ Honeycrisp Apple Citrus Vinaigrette and toasted quinoa: My appetizer and very up my alley because it's a very light appetizer that's packed with flavor. There's almost a honey like sweetness to an otherwise very acidic vinaigrette. The bits of toasted quinoa give a nutty taste flavor and a nice contrast in texture. The portion is small but you only need the smallest bite for a mouth full of flavor. (4.5/5)3) Hangar Steak Curry w/ Stir Fried Noodles: Date's entree so only had a bite. But I can't say that anything really stood out to me. It reminds me of takeout. Tasty but nothing that really wow'd me. (3.5/5)4) Banana Leaf Wrapped Red Snapper w/ Dill and Apple Eggplant: My entree and like my appetizer, it was very light. It comes with a chili sauce where the stronger flavors come from but I put it on the side and forgot about it.... but even without it the fish had such a subtle sweet flavor and the banana leaf gave it a pleasant sweet aroma too. I've never had apple eggplant and I really enjoyed the texture of it (4.25/5)5) Salted Caramel Gelato + Mango Gelato: Both are good but the mango is definitely the fresher of the two flavors. The salted caramel has almost a butterscotch like flavor. Solid all around (4.25/5)Overall, I enjoyed my meal at Khe-Yo. I am interested in their non restaurant week items and would definitely like to come back to give those a try.
