It's really good, it's just so expensive.
I waited long too. I thought it would go faster ordering on the app, but it's also very long inside with the self pay kiosks. I spent over $20 plus tip. Good for the experience, but will probably make my own. I just can't fathom paying that much again.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered take-out but it got a little soggy.
Overall, great sando! The spicy mustard definitely has a punch! Fries were also a bit soggy but my love for fries overshadows any sogginess. Need to go back for dine-in.

Please update either your phone number or your online website ordering. Saturday morning at 11am- I have called 10 times to try to order for a walk in pick up order and no one has answered the phone. I have left voicemails, and tried to order on your website, but to no avail. Is this store even open?

The food was good, but the food took forever after it was supposed to be done to come out. I ordered it around 6:05pm. It said it would be ready at 6:45, I got there a little late at 6:50. The runner said it wasn't ready yet, so I waited. And waited. And waited. I had to go and make sure that I didn't get a parking ticket. Then I waited some more. Then finally got my food at 7:35.I don't really care about waiting after I order food, I get it's Friday and Covid shortages, but just be up front about it. I shouldn't have to wait almost an hour after you say it's ready, just tell me it'll take longer. Not sure if I will order anything from here again, even if the food was actually good. Sitting in the lobby for an hour killed my buzz

It's just not the same compares to when they had their own restaurant space. Very sad for them to scale down this way.

I can't get enough of Kimukatsu! The chicken katsu sando is my favorite. The chicken is always so tender and juicy and the sauce and bread complement it so well! The garlic butter or umami seaweed fries are also a must. It feels light but so satisfying, I eat this almost every week and still crave it. Ignore the bad reviews just because it's in the colony, it's worth it!
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely my favorite spot at Colony.
An excellent and refreshing katsu sando that's simple and delicious. The outdoor seating is perfect, but the sandwiches travel incredibly well if you're looking for delivery or pickup. It takes a bit of time if you don't order ahead, so definitely order before you walk up if you can. It's also a little pricy for my taste, but still about average for the area.

Food was so fresh, crunchy and delicious!!!I had the combo bento plate with fried shrimp. My husband had another combo plate with chicken cutlet. We were very happy with the food!!! We will definitely return in the near future.
Be the first to ReplyIt's not the same as a restaurant.
My Tonkatsu was a little dry. The shared kitchen concept is cool But it's not the same as I sit down restaurant.

As much as I try to steer clear, any food fried in Japanese technique I am a sucker for. If this is how the bad cholesterol is going to continue and wrack my arteries, well, there are worse ways to go.I'm so pleased Kimukatsu continues on after re-locating from 2121 Sawtelle. May be a chain but mannn, do they execute everything with excellence. Signature recipe is the Layered Pork Katsu. Happy to report, the tonkatsu for which they are renown is unapologetically yum. Plus there are all these scrumptious sides and condiments. Like, at first you might be startled by a big plate of shredded cabbage that's included in most meals. But once you douse it in their sesame soy dressing, you'll think this is the tastiest raw cabbage you've never had in your life until now. Yeah I gorged myself, plus the yellow radish pickle is so goood. That will all balance out the cholesterol bomb that is tonkatsu. Or so I tell myself. They down-sized the menu since the endemic. Uh yes, "Endemic".. which is what I prophesied 19 months ago. Why has it become so? Because of millions upon millions of humans who 1) deny or don't understand or trust science and/or 2) are wusses when it comes to needles and/or 3) prefer to follow consipiracy theories to reinforce their confirmation biases and/or 4) defiantly stay mis-/un- informed and/or 5) are genuinely ignorant and avoid seeking wisdom...... But I digress.Sorry, just had to point out the obvious. Most of those don't care if Earth and all living things here go to pot. They're on the totally wrong side of history fer shurr. Eh what do I care, the cucarachas will take over the place long after all mammals expire.Back to Kimu, menu's basically katsu with some sides. Back in the day they'd run daily lunch specials, offer ramen, udon and dessert. You could get Japanese cheesecake and ice cream, but what truly impressed was the ramen came out piping hot, the noodles tooth-some thick wavy style in very rich heavy pork bone broth, the kind you'd get at a dedicated ramen-ya. Would be awesome if those items made a come-back, but I understand if that's not in the near future. Kimukatsu-- try it, you'll love it.
