Located near the East Village, the restaurant has great location and decent interior design. I love the chic and cozy counter area and my dining experience there have already been great. The chefs are always friendly and they do a good job on introducing all kinds of fishes and their source. They change their menu from time to time and they never disappoint! Always fresh and yummy! If you're looking for a casual Omakase experience, I would recommend this place!

Visiting from GTA, Canda, and this restaurant was fabulous and by far the best restaurant I tried in here. In all of my experience dining out, I can easily say this was one of the top three meals I've ever had. Everything from this restaurant was great. The entrance the vibe and the style of it. The food was marvelous, and the service was great, our service was super great and recommended amazing dishes especially the Premium futomaki. A more upscale version of The Classic 10-piece roll and excellent all around. The touch of sweet creaminess coming from the avocado and crispiness from shrimp tempura - was just right.

Been here to visit old friends and came here to celebrate the reunion. The night was amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful, so welcoming! Food was so delicious, immaculately presented, and surprisingly well priced for what was offered. Sashimi and sushi were like butter, melted in the mouth, the hand rolls were phenomenal, and miso soup was very hearty. Blue Fin Tuna, King Salmon and Shima Aji were my favorites for sure! It seems that everyone that comes here can't help but keep coming back. They offer an extensive menu with high quality ingredients and fair portions. Everything is executed with a level of playfulness and finesse that keeps everyone coming back. Definitely do yourself a favor and check out the best sushi restaurant.

The sushi was very fresh, however the flavours were quite mid for the price. Wish they had more options for lunch with the traditional omakase experience rather than serving everything on one plate. Also, the appetizer was a bit salty, while the dessert was nothing too special.

I've tried a decent amount of omakase places and while they were good, not many were memorable. This place was memorable. It's the perfect blend between fusion and traditional. Would definitely come here again!

I came here on a Saturday at noon and the restaurant was very peaceful. For lunch they offer a lunch omakase which consists of 2 chef appetizers, 6 pieces of nigiri and 1 dessert. Note, even though I chose to sit at the sushi bar, I still ended up receiving my nigiri all at once instead of piece by piece. There was only one chef and one waitress during my dining time. Appetizers:Fried Amadai (tile fish)It was suggested to squeeze the lemon on top and dip the fish in salt. I was pleasantly surprised by this appetizer. The fish was perfectly cooked and fried. The skin was puffed and super crispy. The fish was buttery, light. What a wonderful way to start my meal. Dashi broth with clam and DaikonPerfect adjunct to my appetizer to cleanse my palate before moving into the next course.Nigiri:Shima aji (Stripe jack) Akamai (Lean blue fin tuna)Hata ( Japanese Grouper)- a little chewy but wonderful flavorIsaki (chicken grunt)- very soft. Usually firm texture but soft for me. Beautiful texture. Fish is sweetMasunosuke (King salmon)Hotate (Scallop)Marinated ikura- Delicious however I wished it was slightly more marinated. Tamago**each nigiri is already lightly brushed with soy sauce with a small piece of wasabi. If you're not used to eating omakase, please do yourself a favor and cleanse your palate with the pickled ginger before you eat the next piece. Your taste buds will thank you and you will actually get to taste the difference between each nigiri. A la carte menu: Chutoro with caviar($16) - aside from the Hokkaido uni, I think was probably my favorite piece. Perfect amount of fattiness complemented with the slight saltiness of the caviar and the texture was just perfect. Otoro with Hokkaido Uni($18)- this was definitely my number #2 favorite. I love a good otoro with uni and the quality of the ingredients definitely make a difference. Maine uni($18)- good uni but of course a difference flavor profile compared to the Hokkaido. More salinity and a touch firmer. Hokkaido uni($24)- soooooooo good, ordered 2 pieces. It's so buttery, creamy smooth and sweet. Bonito fish- similar flavor to tuna but less iron on the tongue. Toro Hand roll ($18)- akamai, chutoro, otoro with pickled radish and scallion. Really yummy. A little heavy on the scallion but I didn't mind. DessertBlack sesame ice cream on a puff cracker- delicious!DrinksEastern sour- not a bad cocktail but wasn't too impressed by it. Far Eastide- super refreshingYuzu margarita- my favorite and was complimentary! The orange blossom and honey really comes through and so warm comforting. Perfect end to my meal. All in all, I would definitely come back for the quality Omakase.

I'm always in search of a good omakase place and my husband booked this place due to a friend's recommendation. The service was nice/friendly. It was a nice small place with every seat at the omakase counter filled with people eager to try the place's omakase. The appetizers were good - especially the first lobster appetizer that we got. I was excited to try the nigiri given that the appetizer was pretty good. However, I was a little turned off by the way our chef chopped the ginger. Normally, the omakase places I've been to they slice the ginger thinly. The chef I had chopped it into thick cubes - didn't like that. Most of the nigiri were decent, but I've had better. But I did enjoy their toro a lot - there was even a little uni in it! Yum yum! But all in all, I didn't find their chef or omakase to be wow.

Came with 2 small appetizers (special sashimis), 8 nigiri (1 roe, 1 just egg tho ... so only 6 fish), 1 creme brûlée dessert (very small cube slice, no ice cream or anything). Felt like it wasn't worth or anything special. Rather have 65$ 12 piece omakase other restaurants offer.

Friendly staff, super fresh fish and flavor choices (first time I had mushrooms with nigiri!)...and the ginger, I'd buy a jar. The nigiri had a great ratio of fish to rice (perfectly cooked and short grain) and was served at a really nice pace where you don't feel rushed. Also I loved that it wasn't super loud like a lot of nyc restaurants, so you can talk with your party without yelling.

But how it ended, two completely full and tantalized customers. I mean, how could it be nothing less than a perfect 10 experience when you're seated at the sushi bar, and getting served by the Chef and Owner Mark... it was the treat of treats. We enjoyed the 16-course menu and had the joy and pleasure of Chef Mark's company the entire time. The flavor profiles of the nigiri were so diverse that I felt like my mouth was getting a new surprise with each bite. I cannot even begin to express how the variety of nigiri is bar none. You really just go on an omakase joy ride and every moment feels so special. I didn't want to leave. I'm so impressed by the entire experience. Service was top notch. The conversation about food, our upbringing, and ways that food made such an impression on our choices in life was so fulfilling. I really cannot wait to go back again and have both my belly and heart full.

Everything was going well until there was one Omakase item with almond in it, to which I told the chef I'm allergic to almonds. He asked if I told the server and I didn't because she didn't ask me about nut allergy - she only asked me about soy milk allergy which was an option listed on Resy, but not for almonds. Both the server and chef began to belittle me in front of other diners due to my almond allergy which made me very uncomfortable. I'm willing to pay for the chef to make another piece, than to hear how upset the chef and server is that I'm born with an almond allergy. I didn't choose to have an almond allergy. I wish that was the end of it. Every piece after, the chef mockingly asked me if I'm allergic to fish, seaweed, soy sauce, rice or other ingredients until the end of dinner. It was very uncomfortable and it was obvious the chef was being a jerk and not actually joking. I stopped drinking and ordering more food after because I didn't want to support this restaurant anymore. What should have been a simple pivot became an embarrassment... I don't judge businesses on mistakes made, but on how the business handles mistakes and it was clear that Kissaki Sushi was more bothered about an almond than just offering a solution. This was literally a 5-star experience except for the rude server and chef behavior. The food quality was above average, but I would not come back due to the service.

came here for restaurant week with my sisters on sunday 2pm where they give you an appetizer, soup, 6 piece nigiri, 1 hand roll & dessert for $60. the service was great but the food took a lot longer than i wished. the chefs don't make it one at a time like a typical omakase restaurant but makes it bunches and it comes out all at once. we were seated promptly at 2p, got appetizers around 215p but didn't get our food until 3p (where we saw the food getting made twice). the appetizer was really good as well as the the almond nigiri & the ice cream dessert. overall, not a bad deal but not THE best omakase ive tried... definitely creative though with the ingredients for sure!

5. $160 for 3 apps 12 nigiri and dessert. Honestly the fish is decent but nothing too spectacular for the price. Honestly I've had $50-$100 omakase that was better or similar quality. We paid about $420 for 2ppl including tip and tax which was not worth it to me. Food quality? DecentWorth it? Not sure for the price.

Came here for restaurant week (summer 2022) and it was not worth it. For $60, we were given an appetizer and a soup, 6 peices of nigiri, a spicy tuna hand roll, and ice cream dessert. None of the sushi stood out and they did not give us even one high quality piece ( like scallop, uni, fatty tuna, etc). The hand roll was also just ok. Everything tasted fine, but soo not worth $60 (especially for so little food on top of it). We ended up going to a different restaurant immediately after for another meal. It sounds like the winter RW was better, for $59 they had three appetizer courses (including a hand roll), 8 peices of nigiri (with uni), and dessert. That would've been worth it, but what we had was a large disappointment. We probably will not come back. There are better omakase places with better quality food.

Don't come here for the Restaurant Week fixed menu because it is not a deal at all. Quality and flavor was excellent, but for $60 I expected more than just 6 pieces of sushi as the main. Miso soup was mid.

I fell in love with this perfect Omakase box! Fastly delivered and the box itself looks like a masterpiece literally. The staff put their souls into the design and composition: included napkins and chopsticks. I strongly believe that it makes you feel alike as you are having a meal in the restaurant.Bowls are less expensive than Nigiri Double, but the food fully worth the price, so don't be greedy on it! $147 for 9 pairs of nigiri, ikura and miso soup. My last time at Kissaki was amazing and I thought i couldn't be better. I was wrong... The Chef The chef outdid himself this time. All the dishes were incredible. From the presentation of the dishes, to the serving and their taste. The nigiri and omakase were flawless. Our waiter was constantly coming over to see if everything was okay and refilling the drinks. Yes, the price here is not cheap, but the experience was definitely worth all the money.
