One of the best omakase I've had. Thoroughly enjoyed the 13 course meal, the appetizers were varying and exciting, the main courses were a rollercoaster of flavors, the dessert was a delicious and by no means an afterthought in this experience. The cocktails were well crafted as well( maybe a bit pricy, but they used more exotic ingredients than you'd find in other cocktail bars) The service was good and the servers did a good job explaining the dishes as they presented them to us. Ambiance was ok, kind of small inside and cramped. Outdoor seating does seem suitable if you're into that, but it is winter now and I am not sure how warm the heaters can keep you. The caveat here was the reservation mishap that started my dining experience on the wrong foot. I called several days in advance to book a reservation for Saturday night. This date took place during NYC restaurant week so I wanted to take full advantage of the special omakase deal Kissaki offered. During my phone call, I was clear that I wanted to reserve a table for two for the restaurant week omakase deal and asked if it was to be honored. Concierge replied that they will and I would only need to place a $100 deposit for my reservation. I obliged and was excited.Fast forward to Saturday night, I was met with differing information and was told there has been a misunderstanding. Firstly, I was told the deposit paid was $200,$100 per person for me and my date. "Per person deposits" were not disclosed during my phone call. Secondly, they would not honor the 59$ restaurant week omakase deal as it would not meet the deposit amounts paid, thus they offered to refund me my deposit instead or recommended I instead order the regular full price omakase. This was not how I wanted to spend my evening, by finding another place for dinner at the 11th hour because of "policy misunderstanding". Ultimately it felt like a bait and switch. And so I ordered the traditional omakase course as it just wasn't worth it to pivot my plans otherwise. TLDR; the omakase and drinks were top notch, delicious! Service was good. Establishment was ok. Miscommunication of policy left a sour taste in my mouth that would otherwise have been a perfect dining experience.
