God awful attempt at sushi.
I've been eating sushi for 51 years and have to say I would rather eat gas station sushi. The staff have attitude and the concept of burning sushi with a blow torch is disgusting.

.! WOW! Was looking forward to trying this place. I've lived out here for 42+ years and on L.I. For my entire life of 52 years. Anyways, The hostess was very pleasant, accommodating and easy on the eyes. It was a Monday evening and there were many empty tables as well as 2 people at the bar. We started with a drink and ordered quickly because we were hungry and didn't have a chance to eat lunch. 15 minutes past, nothing. 25 minutes,nothing... I asked if everything was ok and how much longer it would be until we received our food. They told me, "oh sorry, just 10 more minutes." So I then began to check my watch often and after 11 min, I called the waitress over to the table. "Is it ready,I asked politely?" "Let me check," she said, as she ran towards the kitchen. She then emerged and began walking towards our table. "Just 10 more minutes," she said. At this time I was getting aggravated and wanted to leave..! 10 more minutes passed and still nothing..! At this point I was so upset and hungry I asked for the manager on duty. They told me there is NO manager here and that it's her day OFF..! I said "ok then I think we will take the check please, this is ridiculous!" What a horrible experience to say the least..! There are many restaurants that I have seen come and go, and this place needs to GO..! Don't bother! Unless you'd like to become really upset and embarrassed in front of your friends who you told that the place was great! Never again...One word..!!! Booooooooo!!! And two words! BYE, BYE..!!!

I've been to pretty much every high end sushi place on the east coast. This is one of the worst. Great sushi and very expensive- I can accept that- kissaki is not only very expensive it's also very mediocre. Everything is over sauced . The fish quality is decent, definitely not low end, but it's just no better than average. The cooked food all arrived cold. Save your $ and go somewhere else
Be the first to ReplySmall menu.
Most sushi restaurants have multiple options. I felt this place was limited. I tried to sit at the empty sushi bar, and they said only if I do Omakase for $200 per person. When I left after my meal, sushi bar still empty. Doesn't make sense to me.

I been to their sister restaurant and I really like this one better. Try the Uni pasta and the wagyu fried rice, unreal. The Smokey Paloma was amazing . This place is perfect for a romantic date

This place seems like it would be amazing, it has a lot of staff and we were seated as soon as we got there. The waitress wasn't able to answer some of our basic questions- such as "do you guys have eel" or if they would omakase at the table instead of the omakase room. She could have been new, which is fine, because she ended up coming back with her manager to answer our questions. Ambiance was amazing, loved everything about the place from the entrance to the DJs. They even do shows on certain nights, and sell tickets for certain DJs. Ordered the ebi -hamachi which was delicious. We got a complimentary Japanese cheesecake because we came for a birthday, and it was delicious. It takes 30 min to prepare per the waitress, but it came out nice and hot. We almost ordered a second one because it was that delicious. Would definitely come back, at least for the cheesecake!

Tiny portions, limited selection, staff that are so involved you are constantly interrupted. At one point we had 17 staff members looking at us while we dined. No one else was dining. Tables were moved, loud scheduling requests, and sky high prices combined with disappointing sushi made the experience one we won't repeat.

Was expecting SO much more for a sushi place in the Hamptons. My local sushi restaurant has fresher fish. Sushi left a fishy after taste. Entrees were not good either. I am a sushi fanatic & this fish was awful. The waiter also did not get our order right to top things off & didn't seem like she understood the menu. Very disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyThe food not worth the wait or the price.
The service is slow and we waited 55 minutes to get the appetizers and drinks. Three tables complained at the same time for wrong food and also delay. The restaurant was only 1/2 full. Don't get me started on the incompetent manager. Plenty of good food in Hamptons. AVOID! Ambiance is not bad.

The taste of the food is amazing but the portion sizes are so small and they charge a fortune for it. Normally a Wagyu beef dish comes with 3 skewers with three pieces on it. They tried bringing out the skewers with only 2 pieces on each stick and were the smallest pieces of meat ever. There explanation was, "We are sorry, we made a mistake." We ordered 2 of the Wagyu and the second one came out the same as the first. Utter disappointment. The food took forever to come out. Management did the right thing in the end.

This place is phenomenal and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The ambience is nice, I really like the set-up. The staff was hospitable, really charming and attentive, and the venue was kept in pristine condition. The quality of the products was exceptional, nothing was frozen, rice was great, the Spinach Salad was fresh. We also had Omakase Hachi. It is a medium set with fixed price, and you get to choose your 5-piece futomaki roll. We ordered our usual Salmon-Cu futomaki, which is the Salmon tartare, goma-ae, cucumber, tofu and avocado. The chef's nigiri were fantastic!

It is more than just the food in front of you, it is the passion for fine art. Bring your favorite person and discover it together. The sake selection is also fantastic. Next, the amazing selection of nigiri. Especially Otoro, Aji and Hotate. These were 100% a must get. The bluefin tuna tartar in the traditional 6 piece roll was outstanding as well. I'd say these were the top dishes. Loved the medium fatty tuna; melted in your mouth and generous amount. The miso soup was very good too. Overall, highly recommend nearly everything on the menu.
Be the first to ReplyWow! I am so impressed.
It is very rare to be blown away with sushi. Amazing place! Very authentic Japanese experience of the attention to detail even in presentation! Got the 12 piece Table Sushi set, so we could try all different fish. Love that they have flavored sushi rice, so you don't really need any sauce with the nigiri. Honestly it was so good I kinda wanted to just order a bowl of sushi rice. This was my first time seeing a sushi restaurant use Ikura that actually tasted fresh and like real thing. Their prices are reasonable, and you're absolutely in for a treat. Extremely fresh, high quality fish and great, quick service. What more could you ask for? Next time I'm in the area I will be making my way back to Kissaki.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for dinner with family during holiday reunion.
They offer a chef's tasting, a few omakase options as well as a lengthy a la carte menu. Wonderful options for various preferences. They also have a really nice selection of sake and other suit our personal tastes. One of the highlights of the meal was a Bluefin tuna belly nigiri with Uni! Beautiful! This restaurant is really special in that their appetizers are unique in their presentation, flavor profiles, and textures. We had Hamachi Crudo and Spicy Cucumber Salad. I loved all the nigiri that was served in the main course. For the noodles dish I got the Spicy Miso ramen, and others got Creamy Chicken and Shio. Service was really impressive, and they let us taste our sake before we officially ordered it too.

Decent sushi given the location, but pricey and rather forgettable. Bonus points for outdoor seating, and quick service - inside ambiance was a little too dim for our liking.

Living in the middle of Long Island, I always had to go to the city for real omakase sushi. It's nice to find a place that is easier to get to than manhattan. Still an hour drive it was much easier to get to. Food was great and I will be going back!
Be the first to ReplyGot the 12 piece omakase and thought it was exceptional.
Definitely the go to place in the Hamptons area. Would highly recommend.

Excellent restaurant, great service and the food is outstanding! Try their cocktails, rice with Kobe steak is delicious!!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing.
Some kind of spin on Japanese sushi here. Not traditional at all. Sushi was small pieces for highway robbery prices. $18 for 1 piece? Yup! One piece! Yikes. Not even toro! This place boasts high inflated prices for mediocre food. Some Japanese fusion or sorts. I would not recommend this place if you're a true Japanese or sushi fan. It's all non-traditional and over priced. Spend over $100 easy on bad sushi. Dog friendly outside, but completely fooled here!

We appreciate that Yelp has flagged this business for "Suspicious Review Activity", a warning to the public to avoid this establishment. Unfortunately, at a friend's invitation, we had dinner at Kissaki last night - it was an extraordinarily abysmal experience. This is a restaurant which clearly needs "fake" reviews; the food is dreadful and wildly over priced. Our meal began with the hamachi crudo and the tuna avocado tartare. The crudo was embarrassing - four slivers of tasteless, texture less fish drowned in an acidic, bitter ponzu sauce. The tuna tartare was bizarre - a unattractive quacamole styled glop with bits of tuna strewn about. Sushi cut rolls were horrendous, five tiny pieces which were tasteless and, in the case of a spicy tuna roll, had a disturbing off flavor. Kissaki ranks among the worst sushi we have ever had - and at these predatory prices, is at the top of the "do not go" list.Unfortunately, we now have a first hand understanding of the warning issued by Yelp.
Be the first to ReplyI went with my boyfriend on a date, we were sat right away.
Our waitress Chor was very hospitable. Try the fried rice was incredible we also tried the ribs and uni pasta, all were incredible. I don't eat raw fish but my boyfriend said the sushi was incredible.
Be the first to Replywas pleasantly surprised -after reading some bad reviews.
We went on Tuesday- & had great service by Craig ( knowledgeable , friendly & very accommodating to our friends selfish allergies). I am local , but not been in new place- very cozy court yard with lights & beautiful bar & DR area inside.we had cucumber salad - it was sooo good i can eat it by the Galon !! hamachi crudo with oranges-was great, Pork ribs was tasty, Tomato salad with tofu was new take on tomato salad & we liked it. Roll Sake -Cu- was very delicious! may be on Saturdays its different or may be they heard complaints, but from start making reservations & to the end - we enjoy our dinner & want to come back to try the dessert.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was fine.
Not offensive but certainly not remarkable. We are here on a Tuesday, it was empty. The servers were attentive and we didn't wait long for anything.Reading these other reviews, I do find it ironic that people are surprised by the prices at a pop up restaurant in Water Mill, it sort of goes without saying.I definitely think that there are far less fancy restaurants with far better sushi for 1/4 the price.
Be the first to ReplyOmakase experience.
New chef has no clue what he's doing. They've lowered the price. Wish they had kept the higher price with the top notch chefs they used to have. Now it's a crap shoot what chef they will have and whether he knows what he's doing or not.Manager of the restaurant is a buffoon.
Be the first to ReplySeriously don't go here.
The manager is SO rude and the staff is miserable. They are also trying to run a nightclub while serving dinner - so have fun waiting 20 minutes for a drink AND two hours for your sushi. I seriously had a shockingly awful experience here - there are so many better places to spend your money.
