Disappointed
I have been many times to this restaurant since it started and never been unsatisfied. On Friday I organised a dinner party for11 to pre celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was understaffed and the waiter whom I was told is the sommelier did not know he should decant 1996 grand cru Puy Lacoste. When asked why, he said “we only decant young wine”!!! With corkage of 30 pounds a bottle the wine was served with the same glasses as the white. In addition we had 2 bottles of champagne and 2 bottles of white from the restaurant. I am very disappointed

This is an exceptional restaurant, well-deserving of its Michelin one star designation. The risotto with sepia and breaded sole was simple delectable as was the chicken roulade. This is a restaurant for adults, with linen and no music, and service which is friendly and efficient. The a la carte menu has terrific variety and we happened to walk in for a 3 course 35 pound menu that is offered before 6:45. This is the 2nd time we have eaten here and look forward to a third meal this weekend.

This was our first visit. We went for my birthday lunch which was first class the set menu was excellent value with food and wines that you would expect from a Michelin-star. The staff were very knowledgeable and professional . We will certainly return
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Evening
Another fantastic meal at this gem of a restaurant in High Street Ken. For a Michelin starred restaurant it was a lovely relaxed vibe and everyone makes you feel so welcome. We availed ourselves of the no corkage on a Sunday evening offer and my friends agreed they would return very soon . Food was all beautifully presented and tasted great . We were very well looked after by our server Conor whose encyclopedic knowledge of the cheese came in very handy !

Yet another blindingly good dinner at KW8. So grateful for this neighbourhood spot existing - huge thanks to all the team.
Be the first to ReplyKensington night out
Absolutely perfect from start to finish. We were greeted by the lovely Connor, who was the charming bartender. We were given time to quietly enjoy cocktails before dinner orders were taken, which was appreciated. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Well thought out compositions. It surpassed 2 Michelin restaurants we have enjoyed. Thank you; we will be back!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food at a cosy, friendly restaurant
An excellent restaurant. The food was superb and most certainly Michelin standard. We ate a la carte and each dish was delicious, innovative but rooted in the classics so no unnecessary fripperies. The portion size was spot on.. enough to satisfy but not overwhelm. The ambiance is lovely and cosy. the staff are fabulous . They are attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable whilst managing to maintain a casual relaxed vibe. The Sunday no corkage is a real treat. Highly recommended
Be the first to ReplyOk, not good value for money
It was ok, not great value for money. The food was ok, we had the set menu. The starter was awesome but the main course and dessert were a bit meh, and not up to scratch for a Michelin star imho
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend. Excellent food and dining experience.
This is an excellent restaurant. We went on a Sunday evening which was quiet, but enough people to create a nice atmosphere without being too loud or too busy. On Sundays, they offer no corkage fee which is IMO is a bonus. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and seems more relaxed than many restaurants of this calibre. We ordered three courses and cheese course. All was excellent. I won't bother with recommendations because each to his/her own but I doubt anything would be disappointing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with comfortable seats, important for a long session I believe.

We dined last night and I’m compelled to write a review this morning! We were caught in the rain and didn’t have time to change from a day of sightseeing. We arrived a messy brunch but we’re greeted warmly! The food was amazing- we did the tasting menu. This restaurant is lovely, serene and wonderful. The staff (Connor, etc) was professional and warm. We had dined the night before at a two star Michelin and W8 blew them out of the water with every dish.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite service and amazing food
This is an excellent restaurant. We had a small business dinner in the private room. The service was exquisite, and the food was absolutely delicious. The cod was a particular highlight. Thank you for a wonderful evening
Be the first to ReplyGood value for set lunch
We visited KitchenW8 for lunch. We decided on the set menu which we felt was good value. 2 choices for each course so there was something we could eat. Food was excellent, my favourite was the salt cod scotch egg starter. Friendly staff and good service. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.
Be the first to ReplyNice place and friendly staff, food wasn’t Michelin starred tonight.
It has a Michelin star. Haven’t been for a few years. We were invited. The food was ok nothing too special, my sole was a mean small portion, the smoked eel minced so small. Someone’s deer looked and a big portion. It was mixed. For desert not much for a gluten free person, the rhubarb was fine. Staff were friendly. Place remains nice and light. It was a quiet evening. I expected more. Expensive for what we got. Wish you luck and hope things improve.

Outstanding service and delicious food. The roast and desserts were superb. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was delicious, service was attentive and timely. Maquerel and fish main were great can't wait to return
Be the first to ReplyA lovely experience close to Westfield’s shopping
A really lovely experience with excellent service and an excellent chef. The food as you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant was very good. Beautifully presented and full of flavour and lovely textures. The 2 fish mains were really lovely. The truffle mash was very good, although too big. The staff were very thoughtful and made the experience very enjoyable. The wine list was excellent, even by the glass was excellent (apparently, dry January!). I would like to thank the team on the night for making it a special experience and being proactive to ensure it. Overall, a lovely experience at a restaurant with a great atmosphere, a excellent front of house team and an excellent chef. Thank you.

Returned after a 3 year pandemic affected absence to find the same attentive service, subtle dining room and vibrant menu. We ate the truffle linguine and duck ballotine followed by cod with mussels and halibut with leeks, all flavoursome, fresh and beautifully prepared, truffle mash completed the mains. A delicate poached rhubarb and chocolate choux bun dessert finished the meal with a well priced Italian white. Really appreciated the intelligent service, and friendly approach of the W8 team See you again soon
Be the first to ReplyGood food, but the rest left us underwhelmed
To Start, I have to say thank you to the team at Kitchen w8 for the lovely card for my wife that was signed by the whole team. This was a lovely gesture and had hoped that it would be the start of a great night. Unfortunately, that really was where any attentiveness stopped. This is not to say that the team weren't friendly or incredibly knowledgeable about the food, but they really never paid any attention to us as a table. As an example, only once was our wine glass actually refilled, the rest of the night we had to do it ourselves. I appreciate how snobbish and 1st world problem that sounds, but when you are paying their prices (as well as being michelin starred) it is the little things like this which just leave you feeling a little disappointed. You just never got the feeling the staff actually cared you were there. Perhaps we were spoilt over the weekend with the other places we visited and they had set the bar too high. The food itself was great, and we really enjoyed tasting the different courses that were part of the tasting menu. Our favourite being the linguine. I would have no hesitation in recommending this place, but I just feel that they need to up their game when it comes to service and make the customer feel valued.

The food was subtle and beautiful . The service was exactly right . Just the right amount of attentiveness. A thoroughly wonderful experience
Be the first to ReplyAnother fantastic experience.
Time for the yearly Kitchen W8 visit again. We were welcomed by the always polite and friendly staff. Our table was impeccably set. To glases of delicious and complex sparkling wine kept us busy tasting the hummus and sourdough bread. The rose wine of the truffle menu was perfect for the tiny miniature pices of threefold truffled delights. The second wine was a Riesling., quite blunt, but tok the sting out of the burning peppery taste. The hand rolled spaghetti with white Alba truffle tickled our tastebuds but were overpowered by the pepper. The third dish was accompanied by a beautiful Rhone wine. A Devine experience together with the outstanding dish of pumpkin chanterell pie, perigord truffle mash and chicken gravy. A memorable experience that I will keep in my heart forever. The rise pudding was also a true delight. Taste and texture in perfect harmony saluted by the fantastic sauternes wine.
Be the first to ReplyGreat quality and value
We visited before attending Opera Holland Park (a 10 minute walk away) and took advantage of the prix fixe menu (available if ordered before 6.30 in the evening). On arriving we advised the team of our need to be out just after 7, to get to the opera, they couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. The three courses we had with seemingly no pressure to eat fast, each one was a delight to see, tasted superb and was well balanced in size. A good selections of wines by the glass, and all at excellent prices (including service, the food was under £40 per person for three courses).
Be the first to ReplyExcellent everything
Excellent food and service at a fraction of the price one usually associates with a Michelin start restaurant. The presentation was immaculate. Nice quiet ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyLower your expectations
Was there for a dinner with husband. Expected more based on reviews. Atmosphere is nice, food is ok, nothing special. A big minus was that the staff wasn’t trained to a high standard. Dishes were not presented, just put on a silence on the table. Forks falling, tables falling, wrong drinks to wrong tables, warm champagne and all of this.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for a brilliant lunch
The restaurant is not far from Kensington tube, just off the High Street. The decor and ambience was pleasant. Dining on my own I was made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. I chose the 3 course set menu for lunch. The food was excellent with some amazing intense flavours. At less than £35 it was superb value and thoroughly enjoyable. I visited at lunchtime and alhough the restaurant wasn't too busy I would still strongly recommend booking in advance. They'll even call you on the day just to confirm you can still come and ask if there are any special requests. Overall, a fantastic experience and one that I would recommend to anyone wishing to indulge a little without it being pretentious.
Be the first to ReplyLoooooovely lunch !!
I went for lunch on Sunday with a friend, she’s new in London and she was amazed, extraordinary food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Grate food value ! Three courses for £42,50.
