The place is so cute and comfy.
I love the center area to look a bit of outdoor. The service was wonderful, people are nice and talkative. The food is great, but still a bit of too much salt for my taste. Overall, good experience.

My favorite dish the Foie Gras creme brulee

We had a great experience enjoying the Sea Tasting menu here. We did it with the 4 glass wine pairing. The wines were delicious and so was the food. The octopus mosaic is a gorgeous plate!! Service was fantastic. They let you enjoy your meal and take your time. Very attentive. We arrived around 7:15. It was quiet and got more lively as the night went on. We enjoyed sitting by the window and walking people walk down the streets. Great experience.

We had an incredibly disappointing meal here during our time in Florence. We had seen the restaurant listed on a reputable online list and decided to try it out based on the diversity of their menu (we don't eat much beef or pork, which we realize makes dining in Florence a bit challenging!). We did the tasting menu and were totally underwhelmed, from the flavorless amuse bouche, to an octopus that was cut so thin you could hardly taste it, to a dry and strangely smoky gnocchi. All of the dishes just tried way too hard to be innovative, but there was just too much going on in the dishes, allowing none of the flavors to stand out, and masking any quality of the ingredients (which seems like the opposite of good Italian cooking). The cost of the tasting menu was also incredibly high compared to all of the other dining options. The space is nice and the wines were good, but avoid this place.

It is one of those places that you are excited for due to the recognition but than falls completely flat. Possibly riding off of their own hype. The food was underwhelming flavors camouflaged underneath disguising presentation. Add in that the service was not only non-existent but also rude at times, we were left wondering why this place has won any awards. When we asked for wine suggestions the sommelier responded with the location of the wine. He did not mention if it was dry or sweet, what dish it paired with, or anything else remotely helpful. What made it even more off putting was that he walked outside several times to speak with his friends. We had the gazpacho, gnocchi, purple fusilli, and steak. The gazpacho was average, the display was nice, but the flavor was one note. I had better at a cooking class, granted it was in Spain so maybe their cook had a better understanding of the dish. The purple fusilli was flavorless bland and uninteresting. The purple coloring was due to the addition of beets, which was only tasted due to the slices on top. What made it stranger was the random pieces of uncooked chard on top that had no continuity with the dish. The steak was average, which was very disappointing. The description sounded so great, but what came out was nothing better than your local steakhouse offering. That all said, the gnocchi was delicious and if you do go I would definitely recommend. Easy to say we were disappointed. If you are looking for a place to eat, please look into locale which is so much better in terms of food, service, and experience.
Be the first to ReplyBest Michelin star restaurant we've been to since in Italy.
Absolutely delicious... everything. We started with a fresh mixed salad that was light and really good. Then ordered the purple noodle vegan pasta and this was honestly different from anything I've ever had. So fresh and crisp vegetables with a sort of broth poured over. The rabbit was good but the texture was a little off for me, my husband loved it. The best thing on the menu I am convinced is the Florence T bone 100% the best thing we had while in Italy!
Be the first to ReplyRomantic atmosphere, excellent cuisine and fantastic wine.
Their amuse bouchée was tantalizing, rack of lamb tender and taste. We had a few other first and second courses...all exceptional. They were very accommodating and made room for us even tough they were fully booked. This was by far one of my favorite restaurants we why you in Florence!! Enjoy ..Connubio felicity!

The only reason I dined here is because it was the complimentary breakfast spot coordinated through the B&B I stayed at. It is not on a main Ave, but does yet a lot of foot traffic of people coming to the main square. The buffet setup is quite nice given Covid at all. Each morning I would have some eggs, cured meat, crossaints, and some jam. Once seated with my food I get some coffee and orange juice. Though it was complimentary, it is a nice restaurant off the beaten path.

Wish I would have realized how big the T bone steak was before I ordered it and wasted half... it was SO amazing! One of the best things I've had in Italy this week. My husband ordered the duck gnocchi and absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend! The wait staff is incredible as well.
Be the first to ReplyReally fun and inventive menu.
I had some poultry dumplings that were served with actual smoke! Perhaps a bit busy, but we were seated in a corner, so not so strange that they sometimes had trouble remembering us. Cocktails were a bit boring/watery.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoyed my meal here.
It wasn't a place that had been recommended to me but something that we came across while walking through the streets. I love the vibe and atmosphere here. The service was great. And I feel like we all got a good meal for the amount we paid.

What a fabulous dinner this was! The best we've had in Florence. I had duck tortellini. It was a complex sensory experience. For a main I had the pigeon in a nest presented whimsically. Delicious! The tiramisu was ethereal and light.

Very cozy and stylish atmosphere with delicious tuscan meals. We really enjoyed lunch with a glass of wine served by the attentive waiter. The location and prizes are perfect for a short trip to Florence, just a few steps from the Medici Chapel.

Great, expansive breakfast buffet (@ 12 Euro, September 2018), includes 1 espresso coffee plus unlimited café Americano from carafe. Can't go wrong with that, and it's a very pleasant, roomy area for breakfast. Located just around the corner from the Duomo.Note that some Yelp reviews mis-identify this as a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. Perhaps it was previously, but in it's current iteration, it's not. It does have vegetarian and vegan items on the menu, although the menu probably changes frequently, and the night we were there, there were not many vegan choices. We also stopped in for dinner, and it's quite a different place. If you do want vegan, I can recommend the Seitan "Burgher" (large seitan chunks marinaded perfectly, served on a bed of rice) very highly. We found the staff to be almost too "high energy," but that's okay. What really matters here is the chef, Beatrice Segoni, who is putting together re-interpretations of traditional dishes - entirely new imaginings that reference back to the originals in subtle ways - try the Moussaka, for example. The Finocchio salad is excellent, too - with oranges and olives, it's a great idea. Excellent wine list, by the way. We'll be back.

From the extensive wine selections to the Italian delicacies, you will not be disappointed. Friendly staff treat you like the closest of family.

I'm a major foodie as well as part time resident of Florence. I can't speak to the vegan aspect (they definitely do not focus on that, thank goodness!), but I can tell you this place is consistently great and offers some of the best food you will find in a city inundated with touristy mediocre (and often much worse) restaurants. I do personally prefer their lunch menu to dinner (lunch has more traditional dishes; dinner a bit more creative) but everything I've ever tried here has been excellent (and we've eaten here many, many times). I suspect most of the less than stellar reviews on this site are written by travelers who don't really know food -- and certainly not authentic Italian cuisine. It's a shame that their ignorance brings down the rating of a chef who truly cares about his patrons, be they tourists or not. So many in Florence don't give a hoot as they know you'll never be back again. Keep up the good work, Konnubio. Just please consider adding some of your amazing lunch menu dishes to the dinner menu, especially in the pasta category.
