Kubeh New York Reviews from The Last Year
The food is bland and mediocre and the service amateurish.
Their signature kubeh dumplings are truly awful--very doughy, bland, balls of glue stuffed with food stuffs identifiable only by reading the menu. We tried every kubeh on offer and the result was the same. The Fish Shawarma Pitada was the one saving grace. Service was patronizing and priggish. "Did we like our food?" I'll let you know when we grow up. This is not pre-school. Finally, and most troubling, they insist on keeping the doors locked until they open at noon. I mean, not a minute earlier--never mind that clearly disabled person standing near collapse in the summer heat. "It's a business and these are our hours." Hmmm... I'm a business exec and my concerns are my clients and customers, not my hours. (Pull that line in corporateland and see what happens.) It's a good thing they don't care about their customers, because they won't care about missing several. Too many good restaurants in that part of town.
Great Mediterranean place in the city! First of all so
Great Mediterranean place in the city! First of all so impressed with wide variety of vegetarian and gluten free options. It catered everyone's dietary restrictions in our group. We were good with drinks, mezes , small plates and salad. Didn't go for large plate option so we could try different variety! Started off with Muhammara (must order!!!) and paprika fries which is great (especially for fries lover). I like the yogurt dip which came along by with it. Watermelon and whipped feta is also must order. Such a fresh salad with mint and basil flavor. Their feta cheese is so fresh too. Came in another salad and didn't disappoint. Corn fattoush salad was amazing as well - the sumac dressing especially! The charred eggplant could have been roasted/grilled more. We didn't get the charred flavor as such. Fried pea kubeh lacked some salt so we didn't like it that much. The mocktails were great. Their cocktails look quite interesting and I think I would come back to try them. We opted for outdoor seating which was beautiful in a summer evening. Their indoor seating looks cute too.
Almost like being in Israel
We visited Kobe to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were a party of eleven and we had the prix fixed dinner menu. We were trying to recreate our dining experiences from our family trip to Israel. We found the food to be authentic, the service was excellent and the overwhelming response was positive. It was almost like being in Tel Aviv.

Kubeh offers a nice combination of beautiful atmosphere, unique food, and nice service. We arrived in the 4-5 pm window when they have their smaller afternoon menu. That was totally fine by us because we were targeting the kubeh, which were available in broth and as fried meze. We went with the Kurdish siske (beef) in hamusta (vegetable) broth, the Iraqi mushroom kubeh in chicken soup, and the seared halloumi to start. They have a few mocktails on the menu, so I ordered a Ramona. Working in reverse: the Ramona was a beautifully complex drink, refreshing and delightfully bitter. Very impressive for a zero-proof cocktail. The halloumi was outstanding, and we especially liked the fried rosemary on top. The kubeh dishes were unlike anything we've had before. I think you have to try them for yourself because I find them hard to capture in words. I preferred the beef kubeh by a small margin, but the mushroom was also very good. The broths tasted like a lot of time and care went into them. The bowls were huge - we were warned, but wanted to try both kubehs and ended up stuffed. If you want a lighter meal, I would recommend choosing one for two people and ordering more mezes (all of which sounded awesome). All in all, Kubeh is a fun and interesting choice if you want Middle Eastern food that isn't what you'd typically encounter.
This is genuinely one of the best brunch spots in Manhattan.
The food was absolutely delicious, drawing from a blend of Middle Eastern cuisines. In particular, we loved the Norwegian Latkas and the Muhammara spread. The service was spot on - the staff were very kind and gave great recommendations! Also tried the chocolate chip cookies for dessert which were irresistible. Great coffee and great vibes! Loved the interior decor of this place.

Wow this was the best middle Eastern food I've had at a restaurant. I wish I had a chance to meet the owner because I have so much respect for the multitude of levels her dishes had. I had one dish that could be tasted in 5 different ways with the variety of sauce combinations available on the plate alone. The prices to me were well below what they deserved to be. Whenever I go back to New York I will definitely be back here. It also hit close to home for me because my Sita used to make kibeh and it was a joy trying an elevated version of what she used to make from the pistachio baklava to the kibeh itself. So happy this place exists.

Reliable, consistent, and delicious mediterranean food in Greenwich Village! The wine selection never disappoints!

Best service I've had in a while! We sat outdoors with my dog and the server brought out a water bowl and even asked if my dog would like some "t-r-e-a-t-s"!! This was so thoughtful, knowing how crazy dogs can get with certain words lol. We had the muhamara, warm cauliflower and grilled eggplant to share. My husband had the shawarma pita and I got the middle eastern breakfast. Food was amazing and service was very attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back to try the kibbeh next time!

Always love it here and this dinner was no exception! I went with my roommate on a Sunday for a lowkey birthday dinner. I always love the muhammara and the rest of the food was great. The server even helped my roommate secretly order a birthday dessert for me. It's always so cute inside too! Definitely recommend.
Lovely brunch spot.
We walked right in! The layout is great, you don't feel cramped and it has some amazing natural light. Food was yummy. I am a huge cauliflower fan and this one really hit the spot. The French toast was not too sweet and was also really delicious. I could definitely see coming back either for a small brunch or even for a larger group.
Another great meal.
Fantastic food and drink. Lovely atmosphere. My favorite is the cauliflower hummus salad with pomegranate seeds. Fantastic. Super drinks and delicious desserts.
Outstanding lunch yesterday at Kubeh.
I had the chicken shawarma with lemony arugula and onion salad. Highly seasoned with a zingy herby green tahini, mango spicy amba sauce. I got their warm pita to go with it. Washed it down with a nice chagachinno mushroom coffee. I got dessert to go: semolina ricotta cake with a lemony glaze. Everything was fresh and delicious. I loved the bar window seat. I'll be back

Came all the way from Texas just try this place because I heard they have some Kurdish dishes on the menu. I walked in at 9:10 and was told the kitchen was already closed. If they close at 10, the kitchen shouldn't be closed an hour before. 15 minutes, even 30 is understandable but really disappointed to be turned away during business hours.
Came for restaurant week and was not blown away.
I felt like all the dishes needed much more flavor. The kubeh had a texture that wasn't my favorite - very dense - but that is probably personal preference. The inside was very cute and the staff was nice.
Amazing service, delicious food and good cocktails.
We did a surprise 40th birthday party. The staff took great care of us.
Disappointed in the quality of the kubeh.
A modge lodge of random dishes, not authentic at all to Jerusalem or nearby areas. If you are looking for authentic kebeh and middle eastern cusine try Ayat in the city. Their kibeh, tabouli and humus is authentically made just like in the holy land.
