Lovely Peruvian place to spend time with family.
Often they have live music so that makes the atmosphere feel tropical and wonderful. Staff: respectful and professional both in English and Spanish. Price: upscale. However, you do pay for quality food. I highly recommend going to this place.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was OK, and the ceviche was OK.
The lomo saltado was definitely subpar, but again, OK. The ambiance was more on the casual end than something upscale, but that was fine with me. The view is pretty good as you have a view of the ocean. We didn't explore upstairs. It's a pretty good spot for a date, but on the more expensive end for the food that they offer and portions. You can get way more ceviche for half the price or lomo saltado for half of the price elsewhere, so you are paying a premium for the ambience and view. One thing I didn't appreciate is when they you about still and sparkling ask in the beginning which you have to pay for, so make sure to say tap water so you don't have to pay for water. It's like $9 a bottle. The restaurant is located in a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean. The view is definitely the highlight of the restaurant. The restaurant is a bit pricey, but the food is decent. The ceviche was good, but not the best I've ever had. The lomo saltado was a bit disappointing, but it was still OK. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, I would recommend La Costanera if you're looking for a nice spot to have a date or a special occasion. Don't think the view or food merits the price point, but if you have money it's pretty good.

The food, employees, and space were all incredible! The dinner was absolutely perfect. Can't miss with any of the cebiches :)
Be the first to ReplyNice atmosphere and contemporary restaurant.
Food is based of Peru. Service was a bit slow, especially between the salad and entree. Salmon was very good, particularly the sauce.
Be the first to ReplyWe had great experience to have valentine night dinner.
Food was yummy with great ambience and awesome customer service.
Be the first to ReplyService and food were amazing.
My in-laws were new to Peruvian food and the waitress took time to review the menu and provide recommendations. They also had live music. Positive experience overall.
Be the first to ReplyThis is my first time at the new location and I enjoyed it
This is my first time at the new location and I enjoyed it very much. We set upstairs which has a great view and we enjoyed a half a dozen traditional Peruvian appetizers (with a modern flair). We also enjoyed the best G&T either of us has had (house G&T garnished with various berries). The service was excellent - they (bartender, bussers, waitress and chefs) worked as a team and everything came and went when it should. Most excellent was our waitress Olivia. She offered great advice about all our interest and was generally kind and helpful. This is a high end fairly pricey affair, so having someone serve us who was not stuffy or distracted was a true pleasure and encourages us to return.

I placed a google review in November and it's not getting views. If you're disabled and especially a service dog handler the front desk will humiliate and discriminate against you. They'll also over charge your table's bill. The manager demanded my medical paperwork to prove I'm really disabled, let a line form to the door, refused to seat my family and because I have a service dog. She wanted some form of ID or license for my mobility dog (A DOG THAT HELPS ME WALK) these ID's, certificates, and licenses uneducated businesses look for aren't recognized by the ADA, they don't exist in the USA, and if a dog has one, it came from a scam website. Real handlers don't have them. It's illegal to ask us to prove if we're really disabled. Of course "fake disabled people with fake service dogs" show up with a sash on them that clearly states MOBILITY ASSISTANCE and their perfectly groomed dog is in a CUSTOM LEATHER MOBILITY HARNESS SPECIFIC TO MY SIZE "I MUST BE FAKING". You can only ask 2 questions "is this a service dog?" and "what are its tasks?" I'm autistic and I have a functional neurological disorder that effects my mobility and speech. My dog helps me walk, stand, and picks things up for me. He also has medical emergency tasks (it's really long to describe). The wait staff saw what was happening and got a table ready for us. The waitstaff seated us, not management. They saved their manager from violating federal law. We're locals, and have been to their old and new location. Our family has been patrons of this restaurant for 20 years. In different phases of me being disabled. Back to when I was abled appearing. The treatment is drastically different. When I was abled appearing nice greeting at the front desk and wonderful ambience seating. Now that I'm clearly physically disabled, demanding of diagnosis papers, bullying at the front desk, hidden drafty cold tables, and overcharges to our bill. At their old location when I was beginning handler, they put us downstairs in the dog patio, you're not supposed to do that with handlers. The floor staff are good people. They saw what was happening was wrong and took action. The desk and management are pretty pretty princesses that shame you for being disabled and spy on you in the bathroom as you cry in the stall after they dehumanize you. The manager also spied on our table the whole meal to see if my dog was still fake service dog. He stayed tucked and quiet under the table. He let out one small sound upon entering, I accidentally pressed the wrong button on his e-collar as I was sitting at the waiting bench. This isn't a "I want a free meal" or to be compensated in some way, and I'm obviously never going back. I want a realization that disabled people aren't subhuman and deserve a nice dining experience too. I want the front desk to take responsibility, learn the ADA service dog and medical equipment laws. Also read some social and ecological justice books and the history of disability ( I manage to do it while being viewed as a lesser human by you). After this incident I had to get a medical ID bracelet, red medical alert cards and a lanyard to wear so it's visible around my neck that blatantly says "I'm autistic" (dude, I'm 40). I had to discuss with my therapists safety and advocacy plans for if this happens again. Because of places like this. It's extremely difficult for physically disabled people to leave their homes and we are in constant fear of being denied access. I reported them to DOJ and they won't investigate and they recommend to get the word out to have the community hold them accountable. Or get a lawyer and bring them to court. I don't want to do the court thing. I don't know enough ASL yet to have an interpreter help me testify. Not to mention the fear of going to court, I've never been, and the idea is really uncomfortable. My functional neurological disorder is recent and I am still learning how to manage it.

La Costanera has a very fun and classy vibe, lighting is perfect! The food is very high quality with a lot of attention to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Everything we had was filled with flavor and so delicious. The service was out of this world good from the smile and energy of Shelby, our hostess to the knowledge, passion and friendliness of Olivia, our server. We will be back for more of the amazing dishes and we will request Olivia as our server. Well done La Costanera-see you again soon! Bryan
Be the first to ReplyJust had an absolutely delicious and memorable dinner here.
The appetizers we had were amazing! the yucca croquettes, Mac and cheese and tequeรฑos - all recommended by our lovely server, Olivia. The service really shined alongside the food. We will be coming back soon and requesting she take care of us every time. Very polite and attentive. Our table was cleaned between each course and she made sure we loved every single thing on the table. It made for a very special birthday evening, thank you so much! Ps. Get the churros for dessert and passion ardiente as your first cocktail.
