La Maruca Madrid Reviews from The Last Year
Great dinner
We really loved this place, food was very tasty, good portions, and reasonable prices for what you are getting. The team was very efficient. Overall I do recommend this place.
I have repeated it a thousand times and I never tire of it, Best tortilla in Madrid
One of the best potato omelettes I have ever eaten. Every time I travel to Madrid I try to stop by here! They don't even have the omelet on the menu, but it is what is most successful. The rest of the dishes are also very good (croquettes, roasted peppers...) Cute place, well decorated. Important to reserve!
Sure success
We were lucky to go early because in no time it became packed. The croquettes and cheesecake were delicious, but the potato omelette was simply unforgettable. Highly highly recommended.
There is no Coca Cola!
I was at Maruca de López de Hoyos. Very ordinary food for the price. The worst thing is that there is no Coca Cola and if you order something to drink as an appetizer, they don't even give you an olive or butter for the bread. Not worth it
BE CAREFUL....YOUR COOKED IS NOT COOKED! IT'S CASTELLIAN SOUP
What a huge disappointment we had. We wanted to find places to eat one of the best stews in Madrid. We looked and looked on the internet and found "La Maruca, one of the best Madrid stews and at a very good price...". We were AMAZED when they gave us a round handful of mixed ingredients (and I repeat the word HANDFUL), in which there were about 20 chickpeas, a few egg threads (not many), and some shredded and very very scarce meat. We were left looking at the plate and not knowing what to do. A minute later a waitress appeared and served us the soup on top of these VERY FEW ingredients. The flavor was good, but the COOKED, so to speak... we got the impression that we were behind a hidden camera and that they were going to suddenly appear to tell us that it was a joke. Gentlemen, owners and chefs of the La Maruca restaurant, we inform you that we have traveled a lot and throughout Spain, we have eaten excellent stews in many areas of Spain, cooked in good conditions, strong, as a stew should be. And this that you serve, IS NOT A COOK, it is a Castilian soup with 20 chickpeas, from all the life of God. It was a huge disappointment, we had been looking for a time where to eat a really delicious stew in Madrid, and when we finally decided...what a huge waste of time to have come here. And by the way, cheap????? Gentlemen, it is a Castilian soup, it is not that it is cheap, it is that you are not eating cooked. It seemed like such a big joke to us that we will never return to this Restaurant, neither to eat cooked food nor to eat anything.
Come and enjoy
The service was great, 10 out of 10... I loved the food... Don't forget to try the cod fritters, please... I also ordered artichokes and it's not something that is delicious in all places and here they candied them They melt in your mouth... And the juiciest cheesecake I've ever tasted is here... :)
Bad service
At 11:30 p.m. they were bringing us the bill to kick us out. Simply out of politeness and not even having finished the desserts, the service left a lot to be desired. The food was well within expectations.
Stressful dinner and bad manners on the part of the service.
Bad attention from the staff. Timed dinner not at all pleasant. Terrible service from the room staff. They give you 1:30 a.m. to have dinner. 20 minutes before, the staff insistently urges you to take the... Visit date: March 2024

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
