La Masseria NY New York Reviews from The Last Year
Fantastic we all loved it.
Food is amazing. Great service. Great ambiance. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent food.
Cute, old-style Italian bistro with an a great wine list. Gnocchi was amazing. Short rib pasta exceeded expectations. Service was decent even on a busy Saturday night. We will be back.

This Michelin recommended restaurant did not disappoint! We ordered the special, the large ravioli with shrimp & artichoke, and a mozzarella eggplant appetizer. Both were fantastic options. They had a great wine selection. The servers were attentive and polite. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, although note that if you're unable to walk up stairs, they do have a seating section up a flight, so make sure to request ground floor seating in your reservation or at the restaurant.
Excellent first courses, excellent wines
Excellent Italian restaurant in NY Excellent price quality Nice place, elegant atmosphere but with a touch of informality.... Highly recommended
Good quality Italian food
Excellent spot for pre or post theatre supper. Good quality Italian food offering very quick service. Liver and onion was good although portion was very large and liver was perfectly cooked in chunks - I'm used to slices of liver. There's something on the menu for everyone as choice is wide. If looking for a traditional Italian restaurant in the middle of the theatre district, look no further.
Tasteless, bland food
Main course: BATTUTA DI POLLO ALLA GRIGLIA, Dessert: CROSTATINA DI MELE CON GELATO ALLA VANIGLIA - boring that the chefs have not bothered to taste the food - as the Italians are so conscious of tasting the food and that you as a customer get a taste experience - our experience of the food was that it was: tasteless, bland and thus really superfluous. There were quite a few waiters who lacked a basic understanding of their role - we had to ask them not to take plates despite the fact that the cutlery indicated that we were not finished. Really nice restaurant with good acoustics and which with small adjustments could do so much more - HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT
Excellent service and food.
We tried 4 different pasta dishes and shared. All cooked perfectly including the gnocchi and the short rib special. Highly recommend.
Had an amazing time.
I'm not sure why there were so many negative reviews about attitudes... I didn't experience any negatives at all! Excellent food. You can tell this was homemade. I sat at the bar and service was great. I'd definitely return!

One of the most exceptional meals I've ever eaten in a restaurant!!! Seriously cannot say enough about our experience! If you are looking for an authentic Italian restaurant with European elegance and New York charm, this is it! And the food...wow! We were in town just 3 nights and randomly picked La Masseria from a list we found on the web -- and we are so glad we did! Wonderful service, wonderful food, wonderful everything.
Back again
Our 2nd time dining here. Our first visit was excellent, our 2nd was just as good. The fried zucchini was a surprise in terms of its mammoth size and quality. Everyone’s entree was excellent with portions enough for another meal. Although stuffed had to fit in dessert which also did not fail.

Went to La Masseria on a whim last night while staying at the Marriott Marquis. Have nothing but good things to say! When you walk in you feel like you are in a local hometown place, not a touristy restaurant in the theater distract. The decor is warm and inviting. My friend and I enjoyed our meals; she had linguini with white clam sauce, I had the signature Pasta Masseria. Both were yummy! The specials sounded amazing but we went with menu choices. But the highlight of the night was our waiter Alejandro. He couldn't have been more attentive, friendlier and knowledgeable. We will certainly be back!
We came in looking for gnocchi and were disappointed in
We came in looking for gnocchi and were disappointed in theirs. It was very mushy. The mushroom and cheese cream sauce we requested was tasty but lacked something. The wait staff was understanding and helpful with this menu item. We started with the special burrata, which was awesome and paired with tomatoes and asparagus. We also had the meatball appetizer; the tomato sauce was tangy but good (not great). The meatball itself had a bit of breading, and I was not expecting 2 large meatballs for $31. Their bread basket and lentil dipper were possibly the best part of the meal! We would have rated this spot a 2. However, restaurant decor is amazing, and the wait staff is very attentive. I am glad we tried it because we live 2 blocks away, but sadly, there will not be a future dining experience here.
Just a wonderful restaurant! The bread basket had two
Just a wonderful restaurant! The bread basket had two delicious kinds of bread/crackers. Beautiful setting, attentive service. I enjoyed a large salad and tried a vegetarian dish. Pasta, tomatoes, a white cheese, eggplant, and a tomato sauce---just awesome!
Had a wonderful dinner at La Masseria with two friends.
The service was so friendly and professional. Our water glasses were never less than half and Omar our wonderful waiter asked us how we wanted to pace our dinner before our theater tickets. It was so refreshing that we had control over when our dishes were fired! The salads were delicious, (we had both the mozzarella and artichoke salads), and chicken, pasta and fish as 3 entrees. Each was favorable and cooked well. We sat on the upper, upper landing which at first I was disappointed by, but....our waiter was so attentive and while there was music and ambient noise, it was very pleasant. The staff each thanked us on our way out (soooooo nice). All and all - I will return.
Delicious pre-theater dinner with incredible service

Fabulous experience
We were in NYC for Broadway week which happened to coincide with Restaurant week . We visited on a busy Friday night. The restaurant had a special menu for Restaurant week with 3 choices for appetizers and 3 for entrees. All the items we tried were fantastic and the service was impeccable. Grazi !
Lovely evening with wonderful food
We enjoyed eating here for our last dinner in NYC during a Christmas week vacation. We'd hoped to get reservations before seeing the Rockettes, but we waited too late. We did grab reservations for the next night based on reviews and the location around the corner from Hotel Theta. The atmosphere, food and service were perfect. It was elegant yet comfortable, with a wide variety of options for appetizers, wine and desserts as well as entrees, of course. My fish special was especially nice, but my husband enjoyed the scallop risotto and my daughter enjoyed her pasta. I'm actually glad they were booked before the show because dining here was an event in itself.
If you are Italian you cannot miss coming to this place. You feel at home
We ate quality and great tasting food. Very welcoming, professional and friendly staff, who made us feel at home on the evening of Christmas Eve. Good wine list. Very good desserts...we liked the ricotta dessert. All perfect
Awesome food near Broadway plays!
One of the best, great food, nice ambiance, the servers were all polite, the meat dish good, the fish special yummy, plus sweet cheese deserts.
Excellent food, good service
Went here for dinner before a show with my family. The service was outstanding, very attentive and our waiter went out of their way to accommodate our children. The food was delicious, loved the bread and lentils. The lobster risotto was just ok, but the salads, soup and pastas were amazing. Would go again for a special night out.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
