This was AWESOME.
The service was excellent. We ordered the set menu, and we tried so many new things. The whole family was over the moon at this experience. The region this visit was Lazio - Roman pastas that featured guanciale. We loved them all. I can't recommend this enough! I saw some reviews that said the pasta was "undercooked." It's house-made pasta cooked al dente. It was perfect. What a special night!

We loved this restaurant! So quaint and the down home cooking was incredible! Servers were all very friendly and attentive. Everything was super authentic and lots of Italian was spoken! Would definitely recommend and go back if I lived locally.

Charming restaurant with excellent service and delicious tasty, fabulous Italian food. We did not book a table, and therefore we sat on the barstools for lunch which was wonderful, because we got to watch the woman prepare the desserts, which looked outstanding. What a Find!!! Apparently Stanley Tucci also discovered this restaurant, but hey, I didn't know that until I saw it on the board. it's right in the Notting Hill neighborhood.

I made the reservations before I realized that Stanley Tucci recommended the place, and was excited about dining there.Cute and cozy, on Kings Road in Chelsea, this place did not disappoint. So the concept is that they bring in "mammas" from different regions in Italy to cook their favorite dishes. We went with the Aperol spritz, antipasti to share and pasta combo. The spritz was delicious, but the antipasti was the only disappointment of the night. It seemed as if it was a bunch of cold "left overs" and we barely made a dent in it. Unappetizing, so minus one star. But boy, was the pasta delicious! I had the Bigoli Caceo e Pepe and is was scrumptious! My husband had the Ziti all Genovese and loved it.We finished with a shot of Lemoncello, which was perfect.Next time we won't get the antipasti platter.

La Mia Momma on Hollywood Road was visited by Stanley Tucci as part of his show on Italian cooking. This episode focused on Italian food in London. This restaurant is in the Earl's Court area or the West Brompton area of London and is in a great residential area with a number of other restaurants. The food here is great. And the ambiance is lively for a relatively smallrestaurant. But go for the food - it's delicious! We had excellent pasta with great sauces. Very good delicious Italian food.

I went to the Notting Hill location and had the time of my life. I felt like I was at home. Guilia was such a wonderful and kind person and directed us the whole dinner. Amazing food. Amazing mammas. Amazing homey feeling. I will be back on my next trip to London no doubt.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely charming! Delicious food to boot.
Service is warm and Michela at the Notting Hill location is lovely. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!
Be the first to ReplyThe food was fantastic.
From the amazing appetizer board which included burrata, artichoke hearts, cuttlefish, and more to the fresh and tasty rigatoni all' Amatriciana and the Saltimbocca Romana. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was fun. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that there was only one "Mamma" there and, the only thing it seemed that she was preparing was pre-meal bruschetta and desserts. Nevertheless, she was also quite charming.
Be the first to ReplyWe saw it on Stanley Tucci's program and had to visit.
There are currently three in Lonon. Each one specializes in a different region of Italy. The Chelsea location was preparing dishes found in Lazio. We asked the waiter to arrange our courses and wine as a surprise and he did a great job. The antipasti, pasta and meat courses were all flavorful and very generous. Give yourself an evening to enjoy the full menu. The dessert was also wonderful. The entire experience was so rewarding, that we visited the Notting Hill location before leaving London.

I saw La Mia Mamma on Stanley Tucci's show Searching for Italy and fell in love with the concept. I knew we had to go when we visited London. We came tonight and it lived up to every bit of the hype. It was an unforgettable dining experience. We sat downstairs in a very quaint dining room. Our service was impeccable. Mena from the Amalfi Coast was wonderful. I hope I'm remembering her name correctly. We had bruschetta brought right away by the mamma. The region was Lazia. We had 5 of us and ordered 5 pastas and 2 main dishes. Then they brought out two antipasti plates with many choices that were so flavorful. The arrancini were delicious. Our favorite pastas were the Rigatoni pesto di pistachio e ricotta and Paccheri alla gricia but they were all so good. Then came the two main dishes Porchetta e patate and Saltimbocca alla romana which we thought we were too full to eat but we finished them. Then dessert which was chosen by the mammas and was fantastic. Then a shot of espresso and a shot of limoncello. It was a 2.5 hour dining event and we felt like we were in Italy. Thank you for an amazing evening we won't forget!

The mamas are making the pasta in the window of the restaurant and then they serve it right in the pan they cook it in. With everyone speaking Italian it feels more like Italy than Chelsea. The rigatoni with eggplant was delicious. Right on Kings Road. #lamiamommas.

I absolutely love the concept and emotions evoked with the decor and culture. Despite wanting to love la Mia mamma, I was left quite disappointed and underwhelmed. It took 45 min for someone just to take our order. Water was asked at least 6 times and it wasn't until the end of the meal that we got it. The dessert and foccacia were great. Pastas... not so much. Cacio e Pepe is traditionally made with pecorino- here, it was tossed with some kind of mild bleu cheese which did not work at all. Seafood pasta was extremely bland. Alla Norma was the best out of the 3, but just ok. The rest of the antipasti was also a bit on the blander side and nothing special.

Man! The mamas really know how to cook at this place! Popped in for a late night dinner and the service and home made pasta was great. Also ordered the pistachio tiramisu and it was lovely. Would def go back.

Such a fun concept!! A little gimicky maybe - but the food was good and the atmosphere was fun!! The Italian Mamma's come around serving you little bites from their trays, explaining what it is and why it is a dish from their region. We were their for Sicily! My husband and I opted for the set menu and were amazing by the amount of food we got! We did not love all of the appetizers - some were pretty luke warm and others were bland, but we loved the ricotta, burrata and the sauteed veggies. I do wish they served bread with this - would've been great to use for the cheeses. We then ordered a pasta each that were both homemade and PERFECTLY cooked al dente. Our favorite part was the dessert they brought out for my husbands birthday with a giant sparkler in it! The staff all came out and sang the best Italian birthday song. It was so fun!Overall the food was good and we were seriously SO full that we had to take away most of our pasta dishes. I'd recommend this spot for any occasion - it was way more than just a meal, it was a fun night out!
