Really good dim sum and options if you are gluten free but you need to beat them to the punch before they put soy sauce on them. For gluten free, look for the rice noodle rolls. The bbq pork is especially delicious and comes close to pork dumplings

The dim sum is decent but the fried taro pig was a disappointment. It was bland and did not look like the picture in the menu or the way other restaurants served it. The filling in the steamed sesame ball was skimpy. The stuffed mushrooms were good as was the steamed tofu skin with pork and shrimp even the filling was all vegetables.

Nice ambiance, around the corner from Vallejo parking garage and a selection of unique dim sum choices. Our favorites are the snow capped BBQ pork buns (they're full of bbq pork), Mochi taro dumplings shaped like pears, dumplings sampler plate, Shanghai dumplings and the sugar custard puffs. It's busy between 11:30-1:30pm-good for people watching. Off hours is best if you want to enjoy having a quiet lunch with good company and extensive conversation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Lai Hong Lounge. We had toured the city all day, so we were especially hungry and tried several dishes. My favorite dish was the pan fried pot stickers filled with pork. They were crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. I would have ordered more of those if we hadn’t ordered so much more. The wonton soup was great and included delicious spinach (?) leaves. The chicken in the clay pot was my husband’s favorite. The owner told us they both roasted and sautéed it; it was succulent. Lastly, the vegetables with prawns and shrimp was quite tasty. The vegetables were very fresh. Not only did we enjoy the meal, but we also enjoyed chatting with the young owner. He was quite friendly as well as attentive to the customers. Overall, this was a delicious, relaxing experience.

Overall, their food are ok but when I got some dim sum today. I tasted something like pesticide in one corner of the bbq rice noodle. I hope they're aware of where they're preparing their food because having food in contact with pesticides is serious business.

For this place, I would only give 3 stars. When they are so many dim sum places in the Bay Area, i am critical of it. First of all, the waitress here was so nice and kind. She helped us a lot when we tried to order a soup and had some questions about what is in the soup. Other dim sum items are average, but I would say that the checkin feet have its own flavor. The place when we came in was empty. It is a traditional Chinese restaurant with Chinese decor and vibe.

Be forewarned, the service here is terrible and they auto charge a 20% tip for every table. We only had a party of 4 and was surprised when we got the bill because they did not state this anywhere.We got seated at 7:30pm, didn't get to order until 8pm, got 2 of our dishes at 9pm, and had to wait another 30 mins to get our order of cold yellow chicken. To wrap it all up, they automatically charged 20% tip against my credit card. Honestly, just all around unacceptable. I questioned why they already charged tip and they said due to covid. It made no sense. I will not be returning here ever again. There's so many better dim sum and Chinese restaurants for dinner in the area.

One of those items is a Chinese yellow chicken. The yellow chicken dish is something that is prepared ahead of time, and all the chef needs to do is cut it. So please let me know why it took over an hour for this item to come out. If the wait wasn't bad enough they illegally charged a 20% gratuity on top of our bill. According to the law, an auto gratuity is only charged when the party is larger than 6 people and it has to be clearly stated. When questioned about this all the manager could do was stutter. Eat here at your own risk and prepared to get scammed when the check comes out.

After taking my friends on a tour of North Beach, we headed for a dim sum lunch before continuing with Lunar New Year shopping in Chinatown. Lai Hong has been on my to try list after they received the Michelin Bib Gourmand a couple years ago and they are affiliated with Hong Kong Lounge in the Richmond District. This location was closed and completely renovated and reopened in April 2022. Arriving around noon, the restaurant was full. I noticed that a person waiting at the entry area was holding a red ticket and I figured it was for checking in. I noticed a cashier's table directly across from me and walked over and yes, that's where you check in to be on the waiting list and get your ticket. Since we were a party of five, it took about 15 minutes before we were seated. But they had the menu at the entryway, so we were able to decide and check off the items were wanted to order.When we were seated, we ordered our tea and handed the waitress our order sheet. Yes, no rolling carts here, just select your items and mark off on the order sheet, which is the norm of dim sum houses now.Garlic Pea Sprouts - well-cooked as it had right texture and not over or undercooked.Baked Pork Buns - you have pineapple BBQ bun or snowy BBQ bun and these were the latter as the top were a white and lightly sweet. Good tasty pork filling as well.Beef Noodle Roll - the rice noodle was not firm, but had a little sticky texture.Seafood Dumpling - the seafood filling dumplings were good, but wrappers were just a little on the thick side.Bunny Shrimp dumplings - whimsical as the dumplings were shaped like a bunny. Again, wrappers were a little on the thick side.Steamed Pork & Chives dumplings - comes with a soy vinegar dipping sauce. Garlic shrimp egg noodles - we enjoyed these thick noodles with a garlic sauce. Prawns were cooked well.Overall, food was good with typical tea house service. They won't check on your teapots, so you need to ask for a refill. Restaurant was clean and bright.

Excellent dim sum spot in SF's chinatown! Came on a sunday around noon and had to wait for ~1 hour, but so worth the wait. Restaurant itself was jam packed with tables and locals. There were no rolling carts, but that means everything was freshly prepared to order! Service was super fast and all the dishes came out piping hot.We split a bunch of traditional dim sum and chinese dishes between the 5 of us - all were authentic and reasonably priced!Was especially impressed by:- baked bbq pork buns: obsessed with the sweet and savory combo between the bbq pork and pineapple bun top, and great chewy bread to filling ratio- salted egg yolk bun: the soft pillowy buns filled molten gooey insides were to die forMust try, and will probs be my goto when i'm craving dim sum!

Quite possibly the best pound for pound dim sum house in the world. Taiwan is deliciously awesome, and Hong Kong is King in Dim Sum. The quality of ingredients can't be beat here. Service was charming as well, which is a bit of a unicorn in San Francisco China Town proper. No rolling carts here, all the goodies are cooked to order, guaranteeing the freshest of the fresh. We came with a party of 10, called ahead and secured a mini banquet room on New Year's eve. We were graced with almost 15 different dishes, and honestly, all could be set as gold standards of what how right should be served. A local favorite dimsum place. Overall the food is good, creative fun dishes for kids like shrimp dumpling looks like a bunny or cute bao. The tofu skin wrap does not have a lot of meat so is the fried dough with pork. The bbq pork pastry is good and the beef rice wrap is good too. Would consider going back again.

We liked the shrimp dumplings as the rice wrap is not too thick and the filling is full of shrimp and not filled with bamboo shoots.Their customer service is a hit or miss. What is unacceptable is that their manager who usually does the bill, tried to force a wrong order upon us. We ordered deep fried shrimp balls, but what we received was a deep fried steam fish ball. She tried to tell us it is shrimp filling when it's clearing not. We always ordered shrimp balls and it never have cilantro or green onions in it. She kept arguing and telling us that it is shrimp paste. I told her to try the food, but she did not dare to try the food to determine if it is shrimp or fish paste. That says it all!Some food recommendations:- shrimp dumpling- shrimp noodle rolls- chicken feet- egg white fried rice- pea sprout dumplings

It was my brother's birthday, so we decided to come here for a dim sumLunch. We had 6 people and I arrived early to get seats. But their practice is only seat people when everyone was here. Also they 2 series of numbers. A for small tables, B for big tables. B tables are divided into 6 , 8 and 10 tables. If there is only 8 and 10 people tables vacant, 6 people will have wait a long time for a table. We saw empty tables, but we are not seated until we repeatedly ask for it. So , be forewarned that if you do not have the right number of people which matching what they have, you are out of luck.We saw at least 8 tables seated before we get seated.So, it doesn't matter how much you plan to get there ahead, make sure you are there and with the correct number of people.Good luck!

It is brighter and cleaner. It opens at 10 AM. By 11:30 AM, the tables are usually filled up even on a weekday.Dim sum and dishes are tasty. Food quality is good. Price is reasonable. Service tends to be on the slow side when the restaurant is filled up.

The food was pretty good and the crab was especially tasty. For that, they'd receive 5 stars.What drove me to review this restaurant are their billing practices. I hope this serves to warn others. I feel the practices are intentional and usual and not an oversight.1) The check total should be the subtotal plus tax. The bottom of the check has a suggested gratuity chart (15%, 18% and 20%) and it totals up the check total plus gratuity. The 18% line was circled and that's what they expected payment to be. We had a party of four. If it was mandatory, it would be billed as a line item like other restaurants do. 2) The gratuity was calculated from the subtotal plus tax. The gratuity should be calculated from the subtotal only since the tax is collected on behalf of the state. (That's a lot of extra tip money collected over time.)3) When I received change after paying with cash, they took out their gratuity already. Gratuities are at the discretion of the customer.I called out the hostess on that and received my correct change and left the 18% tip anyway. I normally tip 20%+ and would not have a problem with leaving the extra tip money, but I had to make a point.I will not be returning due to their practices.

We are longtime customers from the time our kids were toddlers . They grew up when it was Lychee Garden eating dim sum on Fridays with paw paw and gung gung and family dinners for celebrations. Old name, new name , same great food! So glad they are back! We ordered two tables for Father's Day. Every dish was perfect with generous portions and May who helped with reservations was very accommodating allowing us to substitute dishes with no up charge. The combo appetizer platter was delicious and fresh. The fish maw soup was like mom used to make. Lobster was fresh as was the sea bass. Fried shrimp balls was how it's supposed to be -full of shrimp and not much else. We had beef cubes with a variety of mushrooms which we always order. The tender abalone with fresh snow pea leaves was perfect. Not stringy like other places. Sticky rice was also yummy. Plenty of food left over after stuffing ourselves and dessert was a refreshing mango pudding in the shape of a giant koi fish which was scarfed up as it was a hot evening! The service was on point. They knew who needed tea vs. cold water, forks vs. chopsticks. We noticed both of the waiters were the same ones from before pandemic so they must like their jobs cuz they were very attentive and quick. Great way to finally spend family time together. Tables were not cramped together. Place is bright and clean. Best meal in years!

I brought my mother in law for a birthday dim sum lunch. Her first outing since Covid, and while it felt clean and safe, the service was a bit haphazard and the food was mostly tasteless. If you were on a low sodium diet, it might up your alley. My mother in law who thinks everything is over salted also felt the food had no distinctive flavor. Everything was fresh, just not very well flavored. I was disappointed.

The restaurant has been completely renovated so enjoy that fancy carpet now before the customer and staff wears it down. Much more ADA-compliant with automatic doors and wider spacing between tables. The space seems more open now and definitely brighter with a couple of fancier rooms perhaps for VIP usage but most likely for reserved dinner patrons (weren't being used for lunch while I was there). New tea pots, plates and utensils, so that's definitely a plus. Had dim sum lunch today at the recommendation of a friend. And even with prices slightly more than before, it's a welcomed addition back to the Chinatown dim sum repertoire. Dim sum selection seem to be as before, but waitress pointed out a couple of new dishes which I thought we're available before so ... Parking is always a challenge but there's a couple of public paid parking garages around the corner on Vallejo Street.

Had been to this restaurant for dim sum approximately 4 years ago and it was very good then. Returned 4 years later and it was still very good. Recommended by another business in Chinatown. We arrived and the restaurant was busy but we were able to get a table for four. We ordered our dim sum plates via table menu. I am sorry I did not take any pics because I forgot and the feast was on. We enjoyed the Bunny shrimp dumplings, shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp six mai, fried pork puffs, beef noodle roll, shrimp noodle, roll, steamed chicken feet and seafood fried noodles. We ate it all.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night to try the place out. There were three other tables, and some kind of wedding anniversary with 3 tables, not really the place to be I guess.There were four of us. We ordered the $119 combo that comes with their daily soup, Peking duck, and a choice of 4 items. We chose the Peking ribs, the tong choy, the pork belly with preserved vegetables, and the deep fried flounder. We also added on two giant clams.The food was ok, typical for a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, but nothing wowed us. The restaurant itself was remodeled during COVID and now has a high class vibe to it, however they served us with bowls and plates that looked it was from the 90s. The service was ok, but for a dim sum place that didn't even ask what kind of tea we wanted and just plopped a teapot onto the table was disappointing.What aggravated me the most about the dinner was how they forced added gratuity onto our check without telling us. They just gave us the check with the 18% tip option circled. I understand when you have a party of six or more, you'll usually get gratuity included, but for four people? Now, I'm not a person who would short change tip if I got great service and the staff was attentive. However, there were many points during the dinner where there was no waiter to be found, even on a slow Saturday like when we dined there. When we finished the giant clam and had it on the plate, the waiter walked by, saw it was in my way (we were given a small table considering how much we ordered), he ignored it and didn't take it away from me until I asked him to. We saw that another table got free dessert, but the restaurant didn't offer it to us until we asked. The service provided was not deserving of an 18% tip. I only gave the restaurant two stars because the pork belly with preserved vegetables was very tender, and the deep fried flounder was decent (had a lot of fried garlic on it).

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
