Excellent service, beautiful build, stunning patio.
Pizza was perfection, as was every other dish we ordered. Will be back again and again and again.

L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is an unassuming looking restaurant behind a hedge that opens up into an open air backyard with string lights, a window into the kitchen where pizzas are being tossed and loaded into ovens, while the sound of live music trickles in from the front room. It's a beautiful space, and it's easy to be a skeptic going out to eat in Los Angeles when there's a lot of beautiful restaurants which maintain a superficial charm but never quite delight you in the way the best places do. This place does. We've been several times now, and I've had almost every pizza - the classic margherita with buffalo mozzarella, the umami richness of the truffle, the crowd pleasing diavola, the pesto with burrata - you can't go wrong with a pizza. I didn't order it myself, but the Pizza Montanara is something I definitely want to try, although be warned it seems more like an appetizer than entree. The Cacio E Pepe, Vongole, and Meatballs were all tasty, I would definitely skip the Calamari and Zucchini Flowers though, these are options that other places do a lot better. Cocktails were inventive, if maybe a little too much so, but we enjoyed our picks. All in all - if you're looking for great food in a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place to go. Another tip - usually it's not such a challenge to get a seat for 2 at the bar.

We had a delicious salad, pizza, and pasta. The food was delicious. The waitress was absolutely amazing. Forgot her name, but she had short hair and wore glasses. A+++++++ FOR HER SERVICE. UMMM YEAH EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. I WOULD TOTALLY RECOMMEND.
Be the first to ReplyKinda hard to find.
Food was great. Chef made a special dish my husband. Ordered their wine, was just okay, not worth $70. Looked it up and it was a $20 bottle of wine, next time i would bring my one wine. The bread was fresh and amazing.

Took some out of town visitors here and we absolutely loved the food, drinks, service, ambiance, everything.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is good but portions are on the small side .
The restaurant is certainly a nice place for a romantic evening. My concern is they charge an 18% service charge . This to me is a cover charge to enter the building. The 18% goes to the restaurant not the servers. I'm trying to support local businesses but this to me is greed . If it went to the kids I would not mind

The restaurant is nestled in the middle of a residential area but the decoration and vibe definitely stands out from the surrounding buildings. Food came really quickly (less than 10 mins). The beet salad and zucchini blossom were really fresh. The pizzas (diavola and pesto) were good although they were not the best I've never had. I've had my fair share of pizzas in New York and my favorite style is Neapolitan so I'm slightly more critical. The pizza dough was light and fluffy although a bit saltier than normal. The diavola was better than the pesto, which had a burrata that I think took away the flavor / essence of the pizza and made the center soggier. Overall a solid pizza experience. I would come back for the vibe and the good food.

Dereck The manager had terrible customer service NO restaurant should ever hired Mgr's that don't have any etiquette towards customer. He was so impersonal and no tolerance for no one . Just very cold as ice. I will never go back to this restaurant ever
Be the first to ReplySo disappointed in my most recent dinner with some friends.
It was a birthday celebration for a friend. I corresponded through open table several times about the seating I preferred and the birthday. I tried calling the restaurant directly to confirm everything, however, no one ever answers the phone. You just sit on hold forever. I gave up every time. We got there and they wanted to sit us in the entry way. I wanted the large patio. Some back and forth over the table. We finally sat at the table next to the fire which was actually fine. When I reminded the front desk about the birthday they knew nothing about it. We were also rudely told that if we choose to wait for another table it would be deducted from our "dining time"! Are you kidding me? I made it clear we were not rushing. Our server was not great. She kept pressuring us to order before our cocktails even came. We had to ask if there were any specials. Every time we needed another drink or anything for that matter, we had to flag her down. Empty glasses were never cleared unless I asked someone to remove them. Empty dishes between appetizers, entrees and dessert just sat there until I flagged someone over to take them. Without ever asking if we wanted desserts, a birthday sorbet was delivered to the table. The rest of us wanted something too! I asked someone for dessert menus and they never came. Ten minutes later I asked our server. She dropped off one menu and she was off. Again we had to get her attention to order. Again...no follow up with our table. We wanted a round of espresso martinis to end the evening. We had to find her to order them. I will say, the cocktails and the wine we ordered were all great! As far as the food goes...ordered several appetizers. They were fine...nothing spectacular. All a little lifeless. We also ordered a margarita pizza for the table. I had raved about how good it was. It was so bland. No flavor at all. For my entree I ordered the chicken. The dish was flavorless and the chicken was dry! I sent it back. The birthday person had one of pastas. It was ridiculously salty. The other two entrees, the salmon and another pasta were fine. I used to love this place! I was sorryI recommended it to the group! I won't be going back anytime soon!

The pizzas are over done ingredients that don't match at all. Dissapointed.
Be the first to ReplyI recently visited L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele and tried
I recently visited L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele and tried their Margherita Pizza and Cacio E Pepe. While I enjoyed the food, I didn't find it to be exceptional. The Margherita Pizza had a decent flavor , but I felt that the sauce was a bit lacking in flavor, felt a bit too thin and charred. The Cacio E Pepe was good, but again, it wasn't anything extraordinary. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the cheese and pepper were tasty, but it didn't have that "wow" factor that I was hoping for. The flavor was a bit lacking as well. That being said, the service at L'Antica Pizzeria Da Michele was excellent. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Overall, while the Margherita Pizza and Cacio E Pepe were decent, I don't think I would go out of my way to visit this restaurant again if I'm looking for delicious food. If you're in the area and looking for a good Italian meal at a restaurant with great ambiance, it's worth checking out, but don't expect to be blown away by the food.
Be the first to ReplySuper friendly maitre de.
Great outdoor patio reminiscent of an Italian courtyard. Well heated for chilly nights. Helpful and respectful waitress. All courses were delicious. Burrata with eggplant, Caesar salad, pizza, and a wonderful pesto pasta. A great find.

Food was decent but very expensive for what you get and horrible service. You had to chase down the waiters for refills. Got charged for bread that was supposed to come with the burrata eggplant and then charged for tap water, we didn't say anything because we were dying to get out...it took forever to get the check to pay the bill
Be the first to ReplyThis is hands down the most delicious restaurant in CA.
No I'm not being dramatic.... A lot of restaurants leave me with a rock solid gut due to cheap or poor quality ingredients. This restaurant hits every mark. My gut feels fantastic, my tastebuds have several mouthgasms, and the ambience is awesome! Servers are super attentive and you don't feel like a bother. They genuinely want you to enjoy your experience. I highly recommend getting the cacio e pepe and the nonna's torta for dessert. Please don't ever get rid of these dishes! I dream of this dish on a weekly basis. Daydreaming of my next experience!!!
Be the first to ReplyI don't want to give 5 stars to places that are overhyped
I don't want to give 5 stars to places that are overhyped because who cares about hype if the place doesn't absolutely SLAP?L'Antica is NOT all hype. I expected the hostesses and everyone to be snotty or treat us like we didn't belong but it was the exact opposite here. The hostesses were very friendly and answered all my questions with smiles on their faces. The place was fully booked but they suggested me and my friend find bar seating so we did. The bartender was personable and customized my drink with no problem. We asked various questions about the food (my friend is very picky about her Italian food) and we ended up getting the margherita pizza and before we took a bite, the owner came out and gave us some tips on how Italians eat their pizza and even offered to take a picture of me and my friend. Both the pizza and prosciutto were yummy and we got a nice buzz from the drinks as well! It was such a sweet experience and I can't wait to go back for the beautiful outdoor seating area.As for parking, you'll either get lucky and find metered parking or you can pay for valet.

You can definitely get much better food in LA with the prices they charge. If I'm paying so much, I'd expect really good food. We asked to add shrimp to the pasta, after getting the bill we realized we were charged $30 per pasta for the shrimp. This must be mentioned by the waiter. We had a $90 charge for adding shrimp that was cut up into 3 pieces so probably a total of about 4 shrimps. We asked for some bread and butter for the table and was charged $7. With a total bill of almost $900 for a party of 7, the least you can do is not charge for the bread and butter.

Been here multiple times with my girlfriend and we love it! We always get the Diavola pizza and the ALLA NORMA pasta and let me tell you it is so good I could eat the pizza everyday! The sausage they use to top it is delicious with a little spice to it, it really is a must try!
Be the first to ReplyReally love the food and ambience of this restaurant.
I would never imagine such restaurant existed in a place it's in. The only thing I did not like was my table wobbling like crazy, but aside from that, everything else was a wonderful experience. Especially our waiter being very friendly and descriptive about the questions we had, on top the food didn't take too long which is a huge plus on my end. The pizza like everyone mentioned, was very impressive. Just enough cheese to not feel overwhelming which is a common mistake. The crust was perfect to my liking and not overwhelmingly greasy. Most importantly, the spice they use are very fresh or strong enough like they are meant to be. Quite often, most restaurant mentions numerous spice put into the food, but you cannot taste it or smell it. With L'Antica you can taste it and smell it. It really stands out the flavor in each ingredient used in the making. The depth of taste was the part that really impressed me for a pizza. All in all, I highly recommend this place, if you're going to be here in the evening park close by or at their lot, because it can get sketchy.

Really solid restaurant in Hollywood! The service was absolutely wonderful- probably the highlight of my experience:). Everybody working in the restaurant was welcoming and friendly, while also knowing when to respect a customer's space.Yes, the prices are on the higher end, but it is not in vain! The ingredients and food are CLEARLY very fresh and of high quality. Not to mention the beautiful ambiance! My only two downsides would be finding a solution to the very friendly flies in the restaurant patio (fly lamp, I've heard burnt oranges somehow scare them off too!), and there only being one vegan item on the menu. Nevertheless, it is a restaurant clearly ran with love :).

A solid place for close to Italian style pizza that you will get in America. The restaurant has a great outdoor seating area during covet times as well as a bar where you can order food if you don't have a reservation. There is valet parking across the street and very limited street parking. The bread pudding was delicious and we also enjoyed the pesto pizza which was a special.
Be the first to Reply4 stars for great service and ambiance.
My 2nd time here and was slightly disappointed. Everything i had remembered eating here before Covid was no longer the same. Their pasta portions got dramatically smaller, the seafood pasta was undercooked and their pizza's were extremely saugy aside from literally the crust. As if the sauce was just water! Their drinks were a hit and a miss. Some of them tasted great with balanced amount of alcohol and some were straight-up juice and another was ONLY alcohol with a hint of flavor! Thankfully the eggplant dish was still good with the toasted rustic bread slices. Their zucchini flower was lacking flavor. The calamari was pretty simple...similar to how most restaurants prepare it. Their roasted beef pasta was the only other item that had a punch of flavor. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll come back again.

Be the first to ReplyOur server had some great recommendations for us.
The calamari was phenomenal and the drinks! It is a bit on the pricier side but when it comes to view, service, and food quality, it's a bang for your buck. I can't recommend this place enough.
