L'Artusi New York Reviews from The Last Year
Tried the tagliatelle, carbonara, hanger steak and beef
Tried the tagliatelle, carbonara, hanger steak and beef tartare beef tartare was a great starter, went down smoothly with the buttered and roasted bread. might want to order more than one starter as it was quite small (good enough for 2 to share) Hanger steak was melt in your mouth, really delicious! best hanger steak i've eaten in a while. Pasta noodles were the star of the dish. Very chewy and fresh, definitely handmade. The carbonara was authentic and light on the mouth. no cream and very italian. Tagliatelle had much to improve on, too much cheddar.
Atmosphere and service were great.
The pasta was pretty good but nothing to write home about. I would come back here but might give some other restaurants a chance before circling back.
I'd been to L'Artusi for dinner but this was my first time
I'd been to L'Artusi for dinner but this was my first time for brunch. I came with a friend and the noise level was quite high, with several groups sitting around us. I ordered the Tagliatelle - Bolognese Bianco, Parmigiano ($26+), which was very tasty--both the sauce and the pasta. It wasn't a large portion size, though, considering I am normally unable to finish pasta dishes in one sitting and was able to with this one. If you're looking for brunch with a group of friends with good pasta, L'Artusi could be a good option for brunch.

We had a reservation at the bar, but the hostess offered a table (which was perfect). The food was delicious! The ambiance was perfect. Waitress was very attentive.
Amazing food and service!! Pastas are to die for! Burrata
Amazing food and service!! Pastas are to die for! Burrata was insane too! I definitely recommend the mushroom ragu. It was fantastic. Everything was so fresh. Get the olive oil cake too!
3 stars.
Sadly, L'Artusi has lost a step. It's still as hard as ever to get a reservation, but they're resting on their laurels. Food: 4 stars - high quality Italian staples, consistently excellent. The bucatini and hanger steak are standbys. Service: 3 stars - we had several different waiters throughout the meal, likely due to the high turnover of customers being served. Our primary waiter was friendly and conversational, but we felt rushed and were in and out in under an hour. Ambiance: 2 stars - it was utter chaos both at the entrance and around our table. We waited 30 minutes to be seated along with ~20 other people in the crowded entryway. Once finally seated next to the kitchen, we could barely hear each other due to the poor acoustics of that seating area (it's an echo chamber over by the kitchen) as well as the close proximity of other tables.

We ate outside on the patio, which is a little warm during the summer. The garganelli was my favorite pasta, very delicious and the pasta even had the mushroom ragu inside. The tagliatelle was very light and flavorful We also really enjoyed the roasted mushroom with egg. It was a little salty, but still delicious. The focaccia was okay, but I probably would not order it again.
Delicious and surprisingly affordable! Thoroughly enjoyed
Delicious and surprisingly affordable! Thoroughly enjoyed the cacio pepe. Puts new meaning to the term "simple but elegant".
Food: 4.
5/5 | Service: 4/5 | Experience: 4/5 I made a reservation for 2 prior and we were seated immediately. We were sat at the bar, which was unexpected. Service was quick but I also did feel a bit rushed. We ordered the hanger steak, bucatini, and the brussels sprouts. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender while the potatoes were crispy and paired well with the butter. The bucatini was as expected and noodles were al dente. The brussels sprouts were really cheesy, slightly acidic, and overall my favorite dish we had.
My favorite Italian spot in NYC.
Spaghetti and cacio e pepe 10/10 potatoes were good but could've been seasoned better. Olive oil cake (i didn't eat the raisins) was yummy and they gave us free gelato for my birthday! Service 10/10 vibes and ambiance 10/10.
Great experience
Our family of 4 came for dinner. The food, vibe (energy) and service was excellent. We have some food allergies that resulted in a bit of confusion/delay serving the plates. The manager proactively came to us, apologized and comped the delayed dishes and our drinks without us even asking. Just amazing - a real sign that they care about their patrons.
Good
Good authentic Italian restaurant. Pasta 8/10 Roasted chicken 10/10 . Olive oil cake was fantastic but soooo sweet . Tables too close but that’s normal in Manhattan or Ny !!
Great italian place, good food, great cocktails. A must NYC dining spot
WOW, Best meal I have had in a while. Got lunch reservations since dinner is so hard to get. We shared the wagyu beef tartare, Bucatini Nero and Branzino. Not a crazy unique menu but everything was just so good! The toast the beef tartare came on was soft and crispy at the same time. And the olive oil cake for desert was amazing, not too sweet but flavorful. Can recommend it without reservations and would definitely go back.
Amazing, I'm not one to crave Italian food but I've been
Amazing, I'm not one to crave Italian food but I've been craving the pasta here. We got the Spaghetti which had green chilies that cut a little bit of the heaviness from the carbs/cheese. We also got the Pici Nero which had a really strong, fresh acidity to it. A slight spice with also nice chunks of crab in it. A great refreshing pasta dish that I haven't had before. It was nice to switch off between the two pastas, both full of flavor. We also got the Focaccia, which I was a little disappointed that it wasn't crispy on the top. It did taste good with the peppers in the olive oil, but I wasn't too big of a fan of the sweet fruit that was in there. Not too sure what it was. We also got the olive oil cake, which I've never had before. It was a little too sweet for my taste and also maybe olive oil cake is not for me. But it did have a strong olive oil taste if that's what you're looking for. Overall, great service. We sat upstairs which was nice, just a little loud but can't do much about that. Would come here again.
I was so excited to finally be able to be able to eat here
I was so excited to finally be able to be able to eat here as it's been on my list for so long! When we first arrived, the hostess was a bit rude and short with us when explaining that everyone in our party needed to be there prior to being seated. After we were seated, however, the experience was nothing short of incredible. Our waitress, Lydia, provided some wine recommendations based on what we told her we were looking for, and they were perfect. She walked us through the entire menu, giving us her top picks from each section. Among 5 people, we split the pear crostone, the spaghetti, the tagliatelle, the crab squid ink pasta, and the cacio e peppe, along with the roasted chicken and the crispy potatoes and Brussels sprouts. The group agreed that the roasted chicken was one of the best things any of us had ever eaten. In terms of pasta, my personal favorite was the tagliatelle, but the crab squid ink pasta was another fan favorite. The Brussels were delicious, and the potatoes were cooked so perfectly. To finish, we shared the chocolate chip cinnamon cookies and the salted chocolate cake which were both to die for. Thank you so much to Lydia (and the chef of course!) for making this experience so memorable for us!!!
Extremely excited when we were able to get a last minute
Extremely excited when we were able to get a last minute dinner reservation here and had a great time trying different dishes. The restaurant has two levels and is very open. I love how the kitchen is exposed and flows into the dining room in the first floor. I also really appreciate how the functional aesthetic they embraced with the hanging pots, olive oil, and seasonings that they use regularly. We tried a multitude of dishes and what I will say is that their pasta dishes are the true stars of the menu. The blackened chicken with scallions has raving reviews, but I don't think that I would get it again if returning. The olive oil cake was really good. Favorite dessert was definitely the chocolate chip cinnamon cookie! Perfect hint of cinnamon. If planning to come here be sure to reserve a seat indoors for the experience and be sure to ask about wine pairings!

Wow. This was my most hyped place to visit on my trip to New York, and it did not disappoint. I had reservations at 2:30pm which I learned they close the kitchen down around 3 to prep for dinner time which makes sense. Despite that they didn't rush me which I really appreciated. I got the spaghetti as I've seen it's a bit unique, the bucatini nero per the waitresses recommendation, and some focaccia bread. The bread was amazing. Great texture and oh so flavorful. Had olive oil with peppers that you could put on the bread and wow great choice. The spaghetti was perfect. Great thickness, pasta texture was amazing, and very rich flavor. I have never really had super nice Italian like this restaurant so I'm used to the red sauce spaghetti and call it a day. This was amazing. However, my favorite was the BUCATINI NERO. This dish had a very pungent aromatic tangy flavor. Like initially when I put the noodles in my mouth I'm not sure what it was - it wasn't like vinegary necessarily but tomatoey and rich with seafood depth. This was easily my favorite dish. I got some olive oil cake to go as well as I heard they're known for that. It was very good as well - although I may not be the biggest olive oil cake guy. Very great experience - would definitely go out of my way to come here if you're in Manhattan. The prices are steep for the amount of food you get - expect like $20 per dish minimum, and you probably won't be full of one
One of the none hoopla underrated pasta place In the city .
Took both the bucatini negro and tajarin carbonara (finally someone serve raw egg.....) and both were fantastic! Done right , flavorable and fine portion . Service was excellent and the impressive thing is that the acoustics were great though it was lunch so .... Definitely one of the best pasta places in NYC . Definitely recommended!!!

This restaurant turns traditionally! good food into the best thing you've ever tasted. People told me that the spaghetti is life changing but I didn't understand what they meant until I tried it, It's flavor is very deep, and satisfying and I absolutely! recommend it to everyone who comes here!
One of my favorite Italian new American restaurants.
Each dish is very flavorful. Restaurant has a great ambiance as well. Would dine again.

Still very solid Italian food with decent pricing for drinks and some apps! Friends thought some of the pasta was too hard but were wowed by the spaghetti and the mushrooms! Got the bucatini again and still loved it as much as I did. Unfortunately lots of things were sold out so we couldn't try a number of dishes.
Came here with a party of 6 with a reservation.
They had us wait 30 minutes past our reservation time before they seated us, and on top of that, an extra 40 minutes between ordering and when the food came out. Service was slow and rather disappointing for such a place. The entree portions were quite small which was unfortunate after all the wait. In terms of the food quality, absolutely spectacular. The pasta was really well-flavored and perfectly cooked--truly al dente. I got the rabbit rigatoni and it was bursting with flavor, accompanied by delightful textures. I wish I could have appreciated this place more if they hadn't made us wait so long.

L'Artusi is one of those spots where I have never felt, "Omg, we have to go to L'Artusi," or where I have gone out of my way to tell someone they would love L'Artusi. Though it has a nice atmosphere, and the food is quite delicious. I enjoyed coming here for lunch (and splitting a pasta and salad), more so than for dinner. The olive oil cake was impressive, but I think Shuka's may be better if you are an olive cake connoisseur.
A gem
L’Artusi is a gem. Fresh takes on Italian classics (with maybe a tinch too much white pepper for my taste), an olive oil cake for dessert that is worth the who thing, great service, and prices that make you you’ve been teleported far from New York. Great food, service, value, atmosphere.
Best Italian in NYC
If you want the best value for money for Italian , L’Artusi should be at the top of your list . Prices very reasonable , I also love that it’s only a 40 dollar corkage so I can bring a nice bottle of wine from home
Amazing
Best pasta I’ve ever had. Order the spaghetti. The hanger steak was also good, but the potatoes it comes with were outstanding.
Disappointing
My daughter + I were there for lunch on 26-Dec-2023. I ordered the tagliatelle Bolognese + my daughter ordered the mushroom ragu. My tagliatelle was delicious, unfortunately it was a total of 3 forkfuls. When I mentioned it to the waiter, he said I wasn't the only one who has brought this to his attention, but only 3 ounces is served for lunch. I 'm positive my dish was NOT 3 ounces. My daughter thought her mushroom ragu was ok. This place is OVERRATED. Definitely not worth the $$$.
Delicious brunch.
Winch here was perfect. Our waiter was friendly and the rest of the seevice crew were attentive. The food was all excellent. We started with the pancakes. The table had the mushrooms entree, frittata and pasta. Everything was done well. The olive oil cake to end was amazing.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
