Food and presentation were outstanding.
Service was amazing. We were lucky to get a reservation a couple of weeks before our visit in NYC. Definitely an amazing Michelin star example. I would definitely go back.

As perfect as it should be! From food, to ambience and staff. Excellent! We enjoyed the choice we made. We had the lunch menu as it comes with Amuse bouche and mini desserts plus our dessert at the end

It's no surprise they continue to earn their three Michelin stars. I've dined here numerous times, mostly for dinner and occasionally for lunch. Every experience has been enjoyable, with stellar service and superbly complex dishes. They nail every course. All the seafood dishes are perfectly cooked and flawlessly executed, often with savory sauces added table-side.

Good seafood but overall not as impressive. Maybe I don't like western cooking of fish in general.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful modern comfortable restaurant.
Service was excellent although one of our waiters had an attitude. Tuna with fog appetizer was really interesting scallops for pot fantastic. Nice right with mushrooms tasty. I felt the fuck was overcooked and not that interesting. Desserts were terrific especially the hazelnut. They were four of them including a grand sommelier which is maybe only 220 in the country so if you're a wine lover, this is a great spot to be.

Be the first to ReplyI am very confused about this restaurant.
I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants across Europe and Asia. I thought stars were a reflection of food quality, creativity and service. So I would like someone to explain to me why Le Bernardin has 3 stars. The food was good...I particularly loved the fish with caviar. But the service was seriously below expectations and the creativity just wasn't Michelin worthy particularly for 3 Michelin stars. All and all it was just disappointing.

If you ever find yourself at this exquisite establishment, I highly recommend dressing up in your finest heels or suit, as class and sophistication are truly valued here. The servers are exceptionally professional and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations. I must suggest, albeit shamelessly, that you try the tuna carpaccio with truffle biscuit. It's an absolute game-changer! The combination of flavors is sublime, melting in your mouth and leaving a lasting impression. It's truly a culinary delight! In addition I must add the raw scallops that were freshly served al la carte - nothing more referring and lite then scallops! This place is never a miss always a hit and wish more locations popped up rather than one! Bring yourself to UES.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a tough one for me to review.
I wanted to say it is the best, but for me it lacked a wow factor. Don't get me wrong this is an iconic Michelin restaurant, but it just didn't give me the feel I was expecting. The decor and ambiance is nice, classy and attractive, but again did not give me an overwhelming feeling of elegance. I'm comparing it to the old Four Seasons restaurant, which closed in 2019, that restaurant gave me a feeling of power and grace while enjoying an excellent meal. The Le Bernardin servers are awesome and seem to focus on being efficient, but some can also be a little condescending if you ask a question regarding some of the dishes. If you are bold enough to ask a question then the tables waiter should take their time to educate not make you feel stupid. Body language and tone of your voice left us with a bad vibe. I did enjoy the signature tuna dish. The desserts and chocolates to finish off the meal were excellent. Not sure if Chef Ripert or the Le Bernardin managers read any of these reviews, but I must say that after living in NYC for 45 years and eating in a wide variety of restaurants both here and around the world I feel honored to have had a meal at Le Bernardin, but overall it is a one and done experience.

Let me say that it has been a dream of mine to eat at Le Bernardin. Chef Ripert has piled accolade after accolade on top of his reputation, and he's arguably one of the most influential voices in the global culinary scene. I also find him to be pretty attractive. I was elated when I got a lunch reservation for one after failing to secure any reservation over the past year. I decided to get the prix fixe over the tasting this time because I had to be back in the office for a 2:30 call. I also REALLY wanted to try the classic tuna dish that kind of looks like something profane. Let me tell you - Le Bernardin has the sleekest power lunch I've ever experienced in NYC. The tuna dish is everything it lived up to be and more. The halibut was one of the best hunks of fish I've ever had. So tender and mixed with a foie gras consommé and spring vegetables - pure bliss. Their Peruvian chocolate dessert was the best I've had up to this point. While some people think Le Bernardin is stuck in the past, I find it to be timeless and well worth their 3 Michelin star status. When I don't have to be stuck on a conference call in the afternoon - I'm coming back to do the full tasting.

Many people think that if you don't have a reservation, you can't get in, but it isn't dorsea. Many people think that if you don't have a reservation, it's not the same, it's not the Michelin experience. Many people are wrong. I think the Michelin experience was even more micheliny at the bar. Lindsey (sp?) was our bartender and we had the most fantastic time. Full menu is available. She took care of us and was entertaining, inviting and a hell of a hostess and bartender. We're dropping in the bar everytime we come to NY. Food was a 10. Drinks were a 10. Service was a 20

After eating there, and having a lovely evening, I can cheer you it's worth every penny.

Still our go to place when we're in New York especially for my daughter's birthday. This has been her favorite birthday dinner request since she was 10 and now she's 20! Great service, good food, and a place definitely to dress up. A good place for special occasions or to close a good business deal ... or just to impress your wife or little princess
Be the first to ReplyWent last night and this place does not disappoint.
Every single dish was absolutely to die for! We did the chef's tasting with the wine pairing. Each dish was better than the next and the wine pairing was spot on with each glass complimenting each dish. The sea bass and sole were two of my favorite seafood dishes. I will say the menu is very seafood forward, so if you are not a big seafood person this may not be the restaurant for you. However it's well worth the experience. My one negative (if you can really call it a true negative) was the wine pairing with the desserts. After all the delicious wines we had with each course, the desert wines kind of fell flat. They weren't bad but they didn't wow the way the other wine pairings wowed. It was the only slight disappointment as it felt like they kind of gave the dessert wines an after thought or treated it as not as important. Would this make me not want to go again or not have the experience again? No. Everything was phenomenal and I would do it again in a heart beat. I just wish the dessert wines wouldn't have been the last memory of the meal.

Thank you for your generosity of time and hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyIts 3 star Michelin star status attracted me and my mom
Its 3 star Michelin star status attracted me and my mom into making a stop here. The reservation process wasn't too bad, which is a nice change from the blood baths some of the other reservation processes are for some other restaurants (Atomix and don Angie I'm looking at you). We came in with little to no expectations, since we usually like to just come in with a blank slate and see what the restaurant has to offer. Tucked into a smaller street by Times Square, Le Bernardin is a restaurant that radiates elegance. The decor is nice and simple, with a darker, moodier lighting that highlights the dishes presented to you. Something that my mom and I were surprised about were the number of sommeliers this restaurant had. We counted 4 for the night, and were lucky to be served by the female sommelier who was great and picked out a fantastic riesling for us to share. For those that don't know, this restaurant specializes in seafood. You have the option of ordering the tasting menu (but the whole table has to order it), or doing a la carte style. We did the tasting menu, and it was great! My favorites were the tuna-urchin toast, which was super delectable and had a nice crunch, along with the salmon-caviar, which was baked on the bottom half but raw on the top half, giving it a super cool texture! The food in general was solid, but those two dishes really stuck with me. As for the service, the sommelier was great, but our main waiter was a little standoffish. I know French people have a stereotype for being a little curt, but this was the first time I felt a bit uncomfortable with the service given. He would explain dishes well, but would always be looking elsewhere, and kind of just ignored you for the rest of it. The other staff were great though, so maybe he was just having a bad day. Either way, my mom and I overall enjoyed the experience! We celebrated her birthday there, and they gave us a delicious chocolate cake to share! It's definitely a place to try at least once on your bucket list.

Me and my family came for the prefix lunch menu to celebrate my brother Timmy. This kind of dining is only for extremely special occasions for my family. When we arrived, they immediately asked us if we wanted to take our coat. Like I said, this kind of dining is rare for me, so I didn't know if it was mandatory or not to give the jacket. It's not, I kept my jacket on. We were sat promptly at a nicely sized table. I hate dining on a small table. It was nice to have so much space for different plates and not feeling like I was seated too close to anyone. If you have a purse, they will give you a little stand for your purse. It's awesome! Before we even looked at the menu, they served us the most adorable mini bread slices with a salmon spread. They told us it was to eat while we look at the menu. It was really good and the fish tasted very fresh. After some snacking. We got the menus. I ordered the tuna because I have always wanted to try foie gras and the salmon entree. After we ordered, the offered us a tray of different breads. I got the focaccia and something that looked like a bread roll and a croissant mixed together. They also gave us a really cute butter bowl. It kind of looked like chap stick that you apply with your finger. I really love bread and butter and thoroughly enjoyed this part. The tuna was so fresh. It was a thinly sliced piece of tuna and center had a cracker and the foie gras. I really liked how I could enjoy the tuna on its own and with the foie gras. At this point I decided to put this place to a test. This place seemed a little too choreographed. I chugged my water and timed how long it would take to refill my water. It took two minutes and 55 seconds. In my opinion, for such a nice restaurant, my water should've been filled quicker. I've eaten at decently fancy restaurants where something like that wouldn't happen. For a place where they fold your napkin every time you get up and push in your chair when you sit down, I expect them to be paying attention more carefully. I also ordered the salmon for my main dish. The presentation was beautiful. I appreciate presentation and really enjoyed the way it was served. After setting down the plate in front of me, they poured a thin truffle sauce around the salmon. The salmon was extremely good. There was some sort of vegetable, maybe green onion or leek, under the salmon. It matched the salmon and truffle together so well. We also order the truffle pasta for the table. It was an extra 80$ for the pasta. If this was a regular Tuesday, I'd say save your money. This isn't an original experience, you can get this anywhere. But if you're celebrating, you should go for it. It was a nice extra dish to look forward to. Finally, for dessert I got the citrus mandeleine. I love lemony desserts. This was an extremely refreshing dessert. Its flavors included grapefruit, lemon, lime, and a little bit of mint. The mandeleine had a thin, solid coating and inside was a lemony custard. That was my favorite part. Aesthetically, it's not the prettiest dessert they offered. But, it's still beautiful and I loved it. I thought this was the end of the meal but they gave us another small dessert plate. I was really full at this point despite the small portions. They served three little finger desserts. I really liked getting something I wasn't expecting. A surprise like that at the end was a very nice touch. Overall, if this is a really special dining experience for you, I think you should take the jump and try it out. You'll probably feel guilty for spending so much money, but the experience on top of the food makes it more worth it. Timmy, if you see this, I love you

Be the first to ReplyOur visit to the first three Michelin-starred restaurant
Our visit to the first three Michelin-starred restaurant was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were treated to a culinary journey like no other. The food was not just a meal but a work of art, both in taste and presentation. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef's skill and creativity. It's easy to see why this restaurant has maintained its three Michelin stars for so many years. The service was impeccable, with our server being exceptionally humble and attentive. They guided us through the menu with expertise, enhancing our overall dining experience. While it was the most expensive restaurant we've ever dined at, the quality of the food, service, and ambiance justified the cost. This is truly a place for special occasions, where every detail is carefully crafted to create an extraordinary dining experience.

There are many reasons why this Michelin 3 stars have been awarded year after year.We were able to secure only an earlier-than-usual reservation of 545 PM on a Saturday night. What has changed fro a visit maybe 5 years ago is that suit/tie is no longer required or expected. The crowd was "business casual" - most gents with sport coats. It was a delightful and memorable evening. Not rushed. Superb service. As the entire table must order the 7-course with optional tasting or the 4-course prix fixe, we opted for the 4 course as all could make their own selection for each course (the 7-course is fixed).Round of cocktails ($20 - $25 each) and a nice 3-part Amuse-bouche was followed by "almost raw" choices of oysters, oysters-uni, scallops, and tuna. This was the first of many discussions throughout the meal on "what was the best dish"? Note there were no bad dishes."Barely touched" choices were lobsters, scallops w/ caviar, and shellfish medley.Main course ("lightly cooked") choices were the signature Dover sole, salmons, and hiramasa - all superb.Desserts were pistachio, coffee-toffees, and the cheese assortment . The latter was the only poor selection of the night as at $44 was too steep.Overall - a clear winner.Damages for 4 with tip was $1850.Food 5/5Service 5/5Value 5/5Cleanliness 5/5Noise 5/5 (lack of noise!)Decor 5/5
