Tragic that Caprice might
Tragic that Caprice might close, the restaurant in London with the godfather of maitreโ deโs Jesus having been enjoying since 1982 it will be sadly massively missed

Had a business lunch at Le Caprice last Thursday, with a client from San Francisco, and yet again the food service were absolutely outstanding.
The steak tartare was incredible. The Dover sole was probably the best I have ever had.
I learnt today that Le Caprice has been forced to close - which is heartbreaking!
London has lost probably its finest restaurant!
Lovely food ,excellent service, but a big problem
The restaurant was lovely, the staff were excellent and we really enjoyed the food . However when I asked where the ladies toilets were I was shown to a very steep and long staircase going down . I told the waiter I couldn't get down or up the stairs and he apologised , but said there was no accessible toilet. This was a big problem for me and we I had to wait until we got back to our hotel on the South Bank.

Dined with the pre theatre 2 course menu. Staff were accommodating and food was nice. Good service overall
Be the first to ReplyGood overall
The welcome was warm and the service attentive but not overbearing. The food itself was very good, we had a number of different dishes and everyone commented on how they were beautifully presented and tasted great. Two small negatives, firstly the tables are a tad too close to each other and secondly, not unlike many other London restaurants, the wines are way overpriced.

Very warm and helpful welcome. We were joined by four other guests and the service was very good for 6 us, during a busy midweek lunchtime. The menu was varied and interesting. The crispy duck salad starter, was recommended and did not disappoint. It was delicious. Very good selection on the wine list too. This is definitely a classic restaurant, that has perfected all thatโs on offer. Definitely will return and highly recommend it.

I went here with my family and we all had very nice meals! The portion sizes are great (we had the prawns to start and you get 5 prawns) nice wine and friendly waiters! I would recommend for a long lunch or evening meal with friends or even work!

had dinner there to celebrate a friends 60th. first waiter that served us managed to share a number of specks of red wine on the table cloth in front of me (without any sort of apology). failed to bring the water that we had ordered.
when the food eventually arrived it was no more than average at best.
the staff are obviously advised to serve the customers as quick as possible which in turn compromises the diners enjoyment.
will not be rushing back
