.. Walked in and was seated in a nice, comfy booth. Our server greeted us promptly and we were given waters and our menu. I was kind of disappointed to see that there wasn't much variety in the way of breakfast items but I thought, hey, the few items they have are probably delicious! My sister ordered a full English breakfast (it was not) and I ordered the eggs w/ artichoke, spinach, and gigante beans. I understand that the English breakfast was Le Crocodile's version but then it shouldn't be called that if it's missing the Heinz baked beans (what are gigante beans anyway?!), bacon, and fried bread. My entree was literally two sunny-side up eggs (kind of undercooked, too) covered w/ a couple artichoke halves, a sprinkle of spinach, and those gigante beans again. Again, I know I'm not dining at a diner but for the price point of these entrees, you'd think it would at least come with a side of toast. No, that will be an extra $7. Service was pleasant and that was the only saving grace. The breakfast was a disappointment and while I would certainly return for lunch/dinner, I would not recommend this place for breakfast. Especially when there are so many breakfast/brunch options in the neighborhood.

Met a friend here while visiting NYC and we both decided to get the roasted chicken with orange wine. The atmosphere was beautiful, the service was awesome (everyone was so tentative!) and as an added little bonus they have match books! My friend and I were able to have a true French dinner (3.5 hours long) catching up and enjoying a lovely meal. I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice bite in Williamsburg.

This is the first time I've visited Le Crocodile and it was a great experience. It's located in a hotel in Williamsburg and the aesthetics and ambiance was so nice and pretty. I'm glad that it didn't get super packed and crowded during brunch because I know a lot of places get like that on weekends. I had a great waiter; he was so friendly and was very knowledgable on the menu. I had to start off with a mimosa as it is brunch after all. It's the first time I've seen a mimosa that is just champagne with an orange peel on top. It was so refreshing and not overly sweet! For appetizers, I would recommend the fries and Jonah crab. Fries were perfectly crispy and salty. The chips topped with the crab meat and yuzu and avocado in the Jonah Crab dish was so fresh; it was the perfect combo. I was feeling a sweet meal so I got the french toast. It was so fluffy! I did think it was really sweet because of the syrup. I would ask to put it on the side next time so I can control how much I can drizzle on top. My boyfriend had the steak frites and the steak was actually cooked to what we asked for. And of course, the fries were the same as the appetizers; delicious. Le Crocodile is definitely a spot I would return to.

Le crocodile has become one of my favorite Brooklyn spots. The staff was so helpful and made plenty of suggestions based on our cravings. I came here with a two other friends and we were blown away. We ordered the mushroom truffle pate and that was so flavorful but not over powering, it had all the right notes and was balanced. We had the tuna tartare and that was light and flavorful. The scallops were to die for and I loved the presentation. As our mains we ordered the orzo caccio y pepe, chefs kiss it was so good, and the fish!! Amazing
Be the first to ReplyFood was excellent.
Service very good. Love the decor and the sunny dining room. A bit pricey but worth it for a special occasion

Came to the crocodile because of the recommendation of a friend of mine. We went in the afternoon and the menu was limited but everything was fresh and delicious. Service was ok.
Be the first to ReplyMy family and I went to Le Crocodile for a late lunch
My family and I went to Le Crocodile for a late lunch around 4 pm. We were greeted nicely and asked if we want to sit at the bar. I asked for a table and we were seated in a booth in front of the bar. The menu was very sparse much to my surprise. We were hungry and didn't think much about it. We ordered onion soup, pate with truffles, steak tartare and Waldorf salad. The food was unfortunately uninspired. The service was the worst we've received and we've been in town for a week. We had to ask for water to be refilled. They even forgot the bread for the pate. It's not because they didn't have staff. They were walking back and forth in front of our table and beside us because out of all the empty tables, they decided to seat us by where the servers ring the bill. I'd say this restaurant lacks soul and warmth. Yes, we assuaged our hunger with the food they served us. But the experience did not give us any joy.

Le Crocodile is an ideal spot for either a romantic dinner or an intimate meal with friends. The food offered here is nothing short of exquisite, and the service is impeccable. The waitress attending to us was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive. With each visit, we've consistently experienced the same level of excellence, leaving us far from disappointed

Gorgeous aesthetic and decor with a minimalistic retro vibe that is perfect for a high end date night. The service could have been a bit better, as they forgot to give us our check and got the check wrong the first time--but this is the only reason I left a star off. The food is absolutely to die for and perfectly balanced in every way with truly lovely plating for a delightful experience. This place is definitely upscale so great for a special occasion as you will likely drop a few here, but every cent will be worth the incredible experience. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area but definitely encourage you make a reservation first as it is very popular and fills up fast!

The roast chicken, onion soup, and crรจme brรปlรฉe we exceptional. The staff was also very kind and on top of everything. We had an earlier dinner and it was a perfect mix of quiet yet amazing energies between staff and the fewer early. Eating patrons! I would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

Oh le Crocodile! What a trendy and hip spot on a Saturday evening in Williamsburg for dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, the restaurant didn't live up to the hype and for the price point that it is, I can't stomach mediocre food and drinks. We started off with a few appetizers including their eel salad (best thing we ordered), scallop and Orzo. We then had their chicken, beef and mushrooms for entrees. Everything was okay but nothing great. The restaurant was beautiful and the servers were very attentive, but I will not be coming back for another meal. (3/5)
Be the first to ReplyNice french spot in a vibrant setting.
Food was good. Steak frites were awesome - the steak was well cooked, with a lovely sauce.

Awesome ambiance and great food - classics done right! Perfect for date night and it doesn't hurt that you're a few steps away from the rooftop bar in the same hotel and other fun bars in Wburg.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a super cute place.
My friends wanted to come here for brunch on a Saturday morning. I got the eggs royale ($28). It came with a side salad and it was super yummy but I don't think it's worth $28.Service was great! The waiters were constantly refilling our water and were attentive. It's a cute spot, but I don't think I'd come again and make the trek to Brooklyn.

Wow I truly wished I took pictures before I inhaled all my food. I have been hankering for a delicious meal and a real low key "treat yo' self" experience. The ambience is perfect for an intimate evening and the service was extremely attentive. Every single person seemed to enjoy working there! We started with oysters, the leeks, and escargot (I could drink the sauce the escargot came in-I do wish I had more croutons or bread to soak it up). For our entrees we had the trumpet mushrooms and the duck and we finished with crรจme brรปlรฉe. Definitely need to go back and try something else!
Be the first to ReplyLovely ambiance with great food choices and service.
The dessert was also incredible - orange cardamom ice cream and chocolate mousse!
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great time! The service is always the best.
Our server Juan was so personable and attentive. He's a real one and made our night perfect! We shared so many apps from the sausage, shrimp cocktail, steak tartare, Waldorf salad and it was all soo good. Our mains were a mix of steak and chicken dishes! Popping with flavors and cooked to perfection. The chicKen was so flavorful and moist in the inside. The steak cooked to med rare with that sauce. Amazing sauce! I dipped my fries in them for sure! Don't skip on desert!! Forget what it's called but can't go wrong with ice cream and chocolate!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a disappointing restaurant experience.
The service was sub par at best and we were never checked on or asked if we wanted another drink. We asked for aioli and ketchup for our fries and didn't get it for over half an hour. The food is so overrated - I don't understand the other reviews. The escargot had maybe one snail chopped up in the whole dish. The leeks were cold and nothing special. My steak was pre-cut for me?!? HUGE red flag as none of the other pictures have a precut tiny steak (4 pieces). The fries are not good - at all. Way better at McDonalds. The chicken is a nice portion and juicy but again, nothing special? I would not recommend this place. There are far better French restaurants at half the cost.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for a weekend brunch, and the vibes were nice.
The food was decent, my favorite was actually the croissant over the mains. The french toast was a tad too sweet, and I wish they had a different bread for the croque madame but the fries were good. Service was attentive. Overall would come back!
Be the first to ReplyA hidden gem in Brooklyn? The word is out.
Le Crocodile delivers on all of my review pillars:1- Service was excellent from the hostess greetings to the well wishes from staff on the way out. Our waiter John C was courteous, professional and very helpful in planning and enjoying our evening, from drinks all the way to dessert.2- The ambience was cozy and sophisticated with thoughtful lighting to match. The table and chairs were comfortable and the place features some very cozy and plush benches for other table arrangements.3- TTE or time to eating, based on time elapsed from the order to delivering our plates, was short, considering the place appeared about 70% full.4- The food quality was excellent, with everyone at the table enjoying the delicious French menu. There were no returns or surprises about our food not being cooked properly. Desserts were decidedly decadent and entrees spectacularly delicious and filling.5- Pricing was adequate for the quality of food. I found it cheaper than a swanky French joint in Manhattan-many of which I frequent often. ย Apps, dinner and dessert with drinks and tip for 3, ran about $550. Lots more value compared to Boulud or Robuchon.Le Crocodile didn't disappoint and has officially made my definitive Brooklyn Eats gold list with this 5 star review. I am already planning my return, and I'd like John to work with us again!Make this an experience by bowling across the street then ending at Le Crocodile for a delicious experience.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant with excellent French cuisine.
French onion soup of particular note but a little beefy so make sure you like that if ordering. Have enjoyed for brunch lunch and dinner.
Be the first to ReplyIncredibly personable service.
Kind and engaging. While the meal was wonderful and fun quality varied. Escargot had a delicious sauce but the croutons plus sides of delicious chewy bread meant too much bread. Pickled mussels were delicious but the sauce was not attractive- a bit metallic. Best dish was superb frisรฉe salad with delicious eel and poached egg. Also a good sized portion. Duck with kumquat was mixed. The skin was fruity and delicious but the meat was a bit bland. Tarte tatin was excellent, with a layer of salt on the perfect crust that highlighted the fruit and ice cream flavors. But the rhubarb zablione fell short. Perhaps the rhubarb should have been served on top with on more binding element. One of the best martinis O have ever had. The trick is to put together the best elements and turn it into a meal totally worth the special event sized bill.

Came here with a friend and we had an absolutely amazing mealThe ambience and aesthetic is enjoyable and relaxed but in a very Americana vibe. All the staff from front desk to the servers and waiters were incredibly friendly and helpfulTo start we got a half dozen oysters to split and they were really goodFor my main I had the duck and my friend had the trout. We devoured them and after we realized we should've taken pictures for the review hereCan't wait to come back!

ย Cool place...but no bread? ย I've been going to restaurants for thirty plus years at this point and have noticed that it's becoming a "thing" to not put bread on the table. ย Shame. ย And worse, they don't even give you the option to buy.
