Came here for my birthday and it was pretty good.
Interior design looks beautiful and matches the dishes and drinks. Lots of green! The dessert was pretty and I forgot what it's called but it's so delicious! I heard from other reviews that their bread basket was all gluten free but it isn't, only two types are gluten free. I did not give five stars because I had birthdays at other Michelin starred and fine dining restaurants and they wrote and sang happy birthday to me, which this place didn't. So it's not big on special occasions, just a place for normal dining.

There are two Le Jardinier; one in Texas and one out n Manhattan. Service is impeccable and the food is too beautiful to eat...but we did!The wine list is great with a very good sommelier.

I came here for dinner with a friend and the place was beautiful. There were plants everywhere and the seating was comfortable. They only have two options for dining, a full tasting menu for $205 a person or a two entree prix fix. We chose to do the app/entree option. They gave us fresh bread and olive oil to start. The bread was so nice and chewy. This place is known for being veggie forward and my friend is vegetarian so they were very accommodating and offered recommendations. She ended up choosing the beets for her app and risotto for her entree and she enjoyed both. I got scallops to start and branzino for my entree. There were three scallops paired with some chips and a purรฉe. Everything balanced very nicely. The branzino came with fennel, grapefruit, broccoli, and a purรฉe. As with the scallops, everything balanced beautifully. The fennel was nice and crunchy while the grapefruit added some acidity. The skin on the branzino was crispy. For dessert, we tried some chocolate salted caramel mouse bowl. It is hard to describe since I didn't understand all the components and the names on the menu were foreign to me but it was an interesting dessert. Not something I would order again but it was unique. Cocktails were also really good. I tried the caffe contretta which was basically a Negroni with a hint of coffee liqueur. I think I would come back and try the full tasting menu sometime.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a vibe.
I loved being surrounded by all the plants in this high scale restaurant. I was just at the bar with some friends and I got a cocktail called the garrone. It was made with Vodka, Creme de Pomme Verte, Bordeaux Cordial, Lime, Egg White & Bitters. Absolutely delicious and tasted sweet like candy. The bartender was sweet and attentive and reasonably priced for a good fancy schmancy cocktail. The egg whites made it. They are able to make a vegan version of it too but I had the standard version.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre at best for an extremely pricey meal.
The ambiance felt sterile and the music (muzak!) was awful. They also don't understand allergies or cross-contamination issues. They did not take my Celiac seriously and I ended up getting sick. All the plants are fake. Upsides are that the homemade vegan ice creams were delicious. The waiter was sweet. This place could benefit from a little love and attention from ownership and the GM.

Again 6 stars! They truly are deserving of the One Star Michelin! The Chicory Salad as an appetizer was light and refreshing, with a truffle vinaigrette that was delicious. Then also a new dish was the The Carolina Gold Risotto that was delicious, as expected. And of course the amazing deserts; The Butterfly is amazing! The service is outstding and well, with every attention to detail. Le Jardinier, is one of the best dining experiences in NYC!
Be the first to ReplyThoroughly impressed through and though with Le Jardinier.
I came here for a business lunch and it was wonderful. My only regrets is that I couldn't take more pictures. It was pretty quiet since it was a Tuesday afternoon. We were a fairly large party, but they gave us the royal treatment. We had about 6 waiters waiting on our table. They came around with about three different options for water. Then, they explained the menu. There is an option to have the two course menu or a three course menu, which includes dessert. I opted for two course since I was on a time crunch. While I was waiting for my food, I started noticing all of the beautiful details in the restaurant. It's already a beautiful space, very lush with green plants. It feels like a garden (hence the name). But the small touches add just another touch of elegance. A few items of interest:1. A real leaf folded into the menu card2. A utensil holder in the shape of an asparagus spear For food, I preferred the scallops with cauliflower purรฉe (seems like a classic) and the risotto with white truffle. This was my first time having white truffle. I was really satisfied with my choices. The scallops were the right texture and the purรฉe was light. The risotto had a slight Parmesan taste and it was delicious. It's not something I order often but this was perfectly made. Hats off to the chef. It didn't need any salt or additional spice. Additionally, I found the service to be great. The servers were all attentive and the food came out relatively quickly. I would definitely come back here again. The prices are high but not prohibitively expensive if you're dining here on your own (I.e not on business).

When we arrived at this restaurant we were impressed by the beautiful atmosphere and friendly welcome. The service was also very attentive! We had the recommended 5 course experience. It was pricey but delicious! Each course looked so creative and tasted even better. Even the bread was delicious! Rather than get wine pairing which would have been great, I decided to just have one glass of wine. We ate every bite of every course!!! We will be back!!!

Wow!! A vegetable focused sophisticated Michelin dining experience. Green garden interior & luxurious food. Lunch has a 2 or 3 course prix fixe. I went with 3 for $75.Ate and drank:Nebbiolo $22Bread basket Ora salmonSteel head trout with cabbage & salmon roeValrona gianduja with salty caramel sabayon Wine by the glass was a bit pricey, but the Italian was quite good. The bread includes a warm buckwheat that's one of the best I've tasted in a fine dining establishment. The ora salmon with radish was so gorgeous & texturally interesting, I couldn't stop eating it. Steelhead trout had a rich brown butter finish with Savoy cabbage, I thought the skin could be crispier but the flavor was superb. The giundija dessert was a scrumptious finish. The restaurant offers very fine dining with incredible panache & the prix fixe lunch is a deal.

Marvelous evening in a cool, soothing setting with great service and terrific food. ย We had never been there before but will definitely return. Our cocktails were creative, balanced and delicious. ย I swooned over the bread basket full of gluten free breads each better than the other. ย I never get that kind of selection of gluten free bread and it was super. ย Our appetizer was enough for two. ย Both entrees were nice portions and delicious. ย My salmon was perfectly cooked. ย The service was prompt, helpful and friendly. ย The sommelier was very helpful and charming.Very, very good restaurant.

The restaurant is more ideal for business dinners than romantic or friends get togethers - it's pretty sterile and not much atmosphere. The food is priced as a Michelin star place would but I didn't particularly enjoy it. The burrata tasted like your average burrata and the apple mousse was not very tasty. The barley risotto with sea urchin tasted like not fully cooked barley doused with a lot of melted cheese - very unimpressive for a place of this caliber. The menu is rather limited though I understand that it goes w the profile of the restaurant. The service was excellent, efficient, helpful, and polite and the house-baked bread tasty - hence the three stars.

Horrible - if you want to ruin your evening and squander your money this is the place..First and only Michelin Star restaurant who cannot accommodate vegan / vegetarians despite their acclaimed "vegetable focus" and prior announcement. While the likes of Daniel, PerSe or Jungsik make amazing places for anyone and deserve their star(s) without a doubt, it is utterly shocking how this place was awarded 1 Star. It's an ok bar / restaurant but the poor service quality and 80s mentality is just not worth the time (or money).

Had a wonderful dinner here! The decor is beautiful, with lots of marble and plantlife. Service was very attentive and polite. Finally the food was excellent. I was particularly impressed with the complementary bread basket--I never thought gluten-free bread could taste so good! Everything we tried was memorable and delicious with its presentation and balance of flavors, without being too heavy. We were a party of 4 that ordered 3 starters and 3 mains, and we felt this amount of food was perfect.
Be the first to ReplyI been to Shun twice its sister restaurant and here once.
Food is solid here and price is reasonable. However service is poor not because they are rude but because most of staff don't know what they are doing. Things are just off here compared to all the Michelin starred French restaurants I been in nyc. Won't be back here. Leaving with bad taste due to awkward and inconsistent service. For example 5 gram of truffle add on was $75 so I asked for 6 grams to share with my wife and they charged $130 instead of $91 I was told first which is 20 percent more (1 extra gram). Truffle also lacked any flavor def one of worst truffles I had at a high end restaurant. They did adjust the price but experiences like this just ruins the night...

Le Jardinier was a welcome respite from the January doldrums. The food and decor were top-notch, and I am looking forward to returning.I've walked past quite a few times, but entering the restaurant is like entering a new world. You completely leave the hustle and bustle of Lexington Avenue behind. I got a mocktail at the bar. I forget the name, but it had a fresh violet on top as a garnish and it was a deep purple/red color with a ginger flavor. It was great. The stonework in the restaurant is very impressive. The curved lines are very seductive and feminine. The decor definitely has a late 80s/early 90s vibe without being too retro, which I really enjoyed. The small plates for bread and olive oil were even pleasingly curvy. The food was delicious. The breadbasket was primo and the standout dish for both of us was the burrata, which was beautifully plated. My friend ordered the Billionaire cocktail. It was very good and I would definitely recommend if you like bourbon. The cauliflower tomatillo dish was a bit too tangy/perhaps too much curry? But we loooved the mushrooms in the dish. Buttery and perfectly cooked. The beet, feta and avocado dish with satsuma was also very good. The one minor annoyance was one of the waiters, who kept pressuring us into ordering more food. We were not that hungry and we were trying to stick to sharing two starters, but he kept trying to upsell us. We both felt a bit harassed.Other than that, a great evening, and I look forward to returning.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because it makes for a nice evening out, all things considered. The space feels ensconced away from the outside...plants everywhere, all that marble, and a calm and spacious dinning room makes you forget that you're bang on Lexington avenue. So, points for the ambiance (apart from the 80's retro furniture). The cocktails are really good...both in terms of flavor and prettiness. Think nice garnishes, fun glasses, a bartender who was happy to make us drinks based on what we fancied, and a competent sommelier. The menu was interesting - inventive and very vegetable heavy. Everything we tried was good - the heirloom beets, roasted cauliflower, pearled barley risotto (but nothing struck us as outstanding). With the exception of (1) the carrot veloute, the coconut flavor was fantastic! and (2) the breads - freshly baked, warm, yummy :)Portions were just right - the size that you can order a few different things and share. Service was friendly and attentive throughout
Be the first to ReplyI had a fabulous experience at Le Jardinier.
The chef's tasting corse was incredible and I have never thought that veggies are so delicious like that, also I was so impressed about cocktails ( my favorite is The Villain and I had three! So yummy ย ). I'll definitely come back soon!

Amazing food, beautiful space, convenient location and lovely decor! Definitely on the pricier side but I loved everything we had for lunch in this restaurant. We started with kale, quinoa, feta salad and mushroom veloute, both were delicious but mushroom veloute was the winner. For the entree, we got king salmon, crispy chicken milanese and barley risotto. Loved the gorgeous presentation and plating of each dish. In the main course barley risotto was flavorful and very tasty, so was the crispy chicken. We were very impressed by their vegetarian options, each dish was unique and very tasty. Finally their desserts were the best, plant based ice creams dark chocolate, pistachio and coffee were great, easily the best vegan ice creams i have had! And orange truffle cake and tart were delicious. Surely going back!!
Be the first to ReplyI love it! What a special haven.
So, the decor is a bit 80s retro, but not in a bad way. It reminded me of the early Aureole days. Sleek, romantic in a grand scale, and extremely verdant in decor, immaculate bathrooms, ( sign of pride in one's establishment ย ) and the banquets offer a sense of coziness in a room that's large with high ceilings. The staff are lovely, well trained and efficient. The food! I wasn't expect it to be as great as it was based on some yelp reviews I found portions to be just right, no skimpy as some suggest , had the Burrata which was paired off with lovely preparation of purรฉes. The lobster was delicious , although I prefer it a bit more cooked... it felt just a mi the undercooked ย but flavorful ย Indeed The chicken was tender and not overdone. Paired with a few chestnuts and Brussels sprouts. All y'all I'm looking to go back again It's not that often that we look forward to returning to a new restaurant. I will return to this wonderful room very soon
