Very good, not remarkable!
this is a very cute old French bistro and it’s a charming place with a happening vibe. The food was all very very good. You cannot go wrong here for a quintessential Parisian bistro. We enjoyed our dinner, but it wasn’t over the top enough. I’m sure there are other places, that may satisfy a culinary experience
Be the first to ReplyWe had an « île naufragée »
Extremely dispointing. Another overrated paris destination. I had the confit de canard and I spitted half of the potatoes because they were rotten. The coquilles Saint Jaques were completely rotten. The was the desert l.île flottante is supposed to be fluffy egg whites floating in a thick creamy sauce with crispy caramel bits. The egg whites were overcooked and thickened with gelée and instead of floating were sinking…. In an industrial caramel sauce Never again

This place is done. Wall to wall instagram Americans. Food average, sweaty servers, long waits. Make a much dough as you can before it implodes. A shame because it was a cool brasserie.

Perfect location next to Bon Marche, perfect fully preserved 19th century interior, perfect service and absolutely spot on classic Bistro food. Yes: this place exists!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing ending to a delicious meal!
While in Paris with friends we made this reservation at the recommendation of a NYC French restaurant we have all enjoyed for many years. The atmosphere was lovely and meal delicious, although not inexpensive, but an enjoyable evening in what seemed to be a local Paris restaurant. Then the waiter brought the check... he asked us how much we would like to add as a tip.."10-15-20%? " were his exact words!! This is not something we had been asked at any other restaurants so were shocked..to the point that we asked the person who seemed to be the manager..he responded that no tip was included and it was up to us! We added a 15% tip and signed...before leaving we asked a patron sitting next to us, a parisien...she confirmed our suspicion that both the waiter and the "manager" had taken advantage of us as Americans who are used to leaving a percentage tip..VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
Be the first to ReplyDon’t go !!! Tourist trap, treat badly if there are children
The owner hates tourists and families. Especially if there are children. They have a diferent menu in English with higher prices. Tourist trap.
Be the first to ReplyHumiliated by the owner
Please take your time to read this review. I was with my husband and two daughers, today is my husband’s bday and we made this reservation about 1 month ago. Our reservation was for 1 pm and I was working all morning, when I received an sms asking to confirm, I did. Below is the picture. I arrived 5 min before the reservation and the waitress was taking us to our table, when someone called her in French (and I speak French and understood) , telling her to take us back to the entrance. Then a very rude and loud man started saying that we had not confirmed and we could not sit. I showed him the sms with our confirmation and then he opened his whattsapp saying that he did not receive and I told him it was sms. He said that I should have answered his two calls but I was with my sick baby and was not beside the phone. There was a line behind us and everyone staring at us, and then the man said that he was the owner and that we would not sit because O didn’t answer his calls and did not pay 100 euros to reserve the table. This was a new information that I had never received but I would pay because it was my husband’s bday. So we explained that if I had known , we would have payed and he continued screaming and saying we would not sit so we left. Please please DO NOT GO THERE. This is no way to treat clients, I have never received this type of treatment, being humiliated in front of my family and others. Plus, the restaurant was not even half full and the waitress was already taking us to our table. Just one more thing, when I showed him the sms from the restaurant and my answer, he screamed saying he was the owner and he was the one who made the rules…
Be the first to ReplyNot for conversation or great French food
Our family had eaten at Le Petite Lutetia several times before the pandemic, wholeheartedly enjoying the food, service and ambiance. Returning now with a French friend for the first time since 2019 it was delightful to recognize the familiar decor, but the enjoyment of the evening stopped there. We were seated in the empty restaurant at the narrow center where both staff and arriving clients created busy traffic at our back. The first half hour was relatively peaceful with a glass of wine and conversation. After that the noise level of the full restaurant became so loud we could not carry on a simple exchange over a small table. The Pepper Steak was okay, though drowned in thick gravy, and the bread was inedible. We ordered two recommended desserts. The Ile Flottant was not the "traditional" version I was assured it would be, the "Ile" being covered in ground nuts and the "flottant" being a syrupy soup. My friend's Tarte Citron Meringuée was far from the light confection one hopes for, but rather heavy and pudding-like, with little lemon flavor, and a crust that was soft and damp. If you like conversation and excellent French food I would sadly avoid Le Petite Lutetia.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced
+ Tasty dishes (excellent mashed potatoes). Polite and efficient personnel. Desserts (at least those we tried) were peculiar but tasteful. Stays open late at night. - Prices are significantly higher and do not correspond to what you get
Be the first to ReplyNever again
Food is good but overpriced. It’s mostly filled with tourists. The decibel level is unbearable. We did not like the way the maître D talked to some of the customers . We will never go back:(
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic French bistrot!
Delicious food in a cozy setting. Pepper steak as well as chicken with mushrooms were to die for! Desserts are exceptional. Because we were there on a Friday night, service was a little slow and waiters seemed a bit frazzled with all the customers. Restaurant is very pricey but overall great experience. I would return and recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAuthentic Parisian lunch
The waiter was attentive . The food was fresh and delicious . I ordered their salmon with miso and ginger with a glass of Bourgogne .The coffee comes with a square of dark chocolate that hits just the right spot! This is a regular haunt of mine .
Be the first to ReplyA wonderful brasserie with excellent service!
It is essential to book at Le Petit Lutetia as the place is as popular as it is good. Traditional French dishes can be found and they are delicious. We shared a foie gras which was a good thing as the portion is very generous. It was excellent. The frogs legs with parsley were magnificent as was the veal escalope along with the side dishes. The service was excellent - attentive but not invasive and very efficient. To polish things off we had the profiteroles and the baba au rhum. The baba was a bit disappointing as it had some maraschino cherries that affected the taste. Definitely worth trying and will be going there very often!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible food and service. Also not vegetarian friendly
Our experience here was everything but good. Found hair in the burrata starter, homemade foie gras was horrific and I had to send back my rib eye steak as it was literally swimming in blood on the plate. Staff tried their best to avoid us it seemed, more attentive to the locals and were extremely rude. Waited over 40 minutes for mains after our starters. Entire experience was terrible and ruined our final night in Paris. Would never recommend or return!!!! Also, not vegetarian friendly as suggested. My gf is vegetarian and the only options were a burrata starter and a white egg omelette covered in Ricotta. So it was a cheese overload.

A special quintessential Parisian evening with delicious food, frenetic environment and memorable moments.
Be the first to ReplyIts okay
Lets start with the positives. Our waiter was AWESOME, and honestly what actually made the experience better . That is where it ends. The food was okay and average, nothing to really write home about. I would suggest you look elsewhere but if in a bind, I would eat there again
Be the first to ReplyNice restaurant, worth a try
Classic French restaurant, mainly used by locals, English menu available, very good service. The place gets busy as soon as it opens, so worth booking, even on a Monday evening.
Snails very nice, Chicken Cocotte excellent, Veal very well seasoned, bottle of decent Bordeaux 55 euros. If you have dessert budget for 100 Euros a head as a guide.
This is our second visit and will return.
If you are new to Paris, unsure of Bistro dining and struggle with cultural quirks maybe make save this place to the end of your trip, but worth a visit, the food is excellent.
Nice bistrot with good food
We had heard so much about this place that our expectations were really high. Our selection was good, one cannot say otherwise but nothing outstanding or unforgettable that would make you come back. We've had artichoke, foie gras, chestnut and butternut soup, then duck and frogs a la provençale. For deserts it was chocolate mousse and Ile flottante. None of which was really outstanding
Delicious with super service
I really do not understand the negative comments with this restaurant. We have been coming here for about 20 years. It has always been fabulous. The ownership appeared to have changed a few years ago and for us, this seems to have been for the better. This restaurant was full but they managed to find a table for us at 7pm on the basis that we leave by 9pm which was fine by us. We were so thrilled that they went out of their way to accommodate us. The service was attentive and so friendly by all staff. They took time to check in with us that our meals were good without being annoying which we appreciated. The food is delicious. It is an expensive restaurant but then you get what you pay for. The total bill for one fois gras, 2 x confit canard, 1 x desert, 1 x bottle water and 3 x glasses of water was Euro 185. The food as you will see in the photos was really delicious. My helpful hint is to make a booking. I doubt you will get a seat without one. Great atmosphere, warm, buzzy and friendly. Seems to be frequented by mostly locals. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyGoing down hill fast
Petit Lutetia use to be good food for good money when they had fresh fish right outside the restaurant with a nice old man shucking oysters, clam, and shrimp. Needless to say I’ve eaten here several times in the last decade. It went up scale and hasn’t been the same. You do need a reservation but that wont help the food. The wait staff and management are very courteous and friendly. However it doesn’t help the food. It is a “Ruth Chris Steak House” want to be. Nd the food is often over cook. Friend had the breaded veal which was served burnt (see picture). I had the chicken with morels and they managed to burn it; Big clots of burnt sauce on the bottom of the pan. The wine list Is ok but a bit over priced. I don’t mind spending money but not for poorly cooked food.
