Perfect location.
Solid ambiance, but more for an after work dinner than romantic vibes. Service was friendly and prompt but we did get there right upon opening so it was not packed. I recommend the snails and leeks. I found the leeks to be absolutely delicious.

Le Rock in Rockefeller Center is a polished French restaurant serving well dressed patrons (we spotted Alexander Wang dining at the table next to us) delicious French classics. We started off our meal with sardines, cerevelle de canut and baguette, and adorable seasonal barbajuans. For appetizers we savored the leeks vinaigrette dressed tableside and agnolotti with chanterelle tomato rich with umami flavor. Mains were the striped bass clams haricots, saucisse au comte, and steak hache served with the some of the most perfect French fries I've had in NYC. We ended the impressive spread with gorgeously prepared profiteroles topped with a rich chocolate sauce and fresh cream. Le Rock is a welcome addition to Rockefeller center and is a place to impress a client or special occasion meal for a boujee date

UPDATE: we finally returned to Le Rock after several months for a birthday dinner with friends, and if anything, the food has gotten even better. Things started off on a very festive note with complimentary glasses of excellent champagne. Everyone was thrilled with their dinner choices: the famous Leeks Vinaigrette, then the Ris-de-Veau; Sardine Escabeche, then the Canard aux Epices; the Pรขtรฉ Maison, then the Rice Pilaf; and the Escargots Bourguignons, then the Steak Hachรฉ. The second courses were accompanied by perfect frites, and all four of us will be forever grateful for our server's suggestion to keep the vinaigrette sauce from the leeks, as a dip for the fries. For dessert, we ordered a Baba for the table, and they were kind enough to also send out their Vacherin, and Les Mignardises (a tempting dish of assorted sweets) as an extra birthday treat. It was, quite simply, a truly wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you, Le Rock!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible service.
Waitress continuously tried to upsell and bully us into ordering more than we wanted. Then, presented a fourth dessert, when we had ordered three, and charged us for it.

Lovely space, consistently great food and Estelle Bossy runs the best cocktail program in town. Don't assume it's touristy because it's Rockefeller Center, this is a fun and truly great restaurant.

The food and cocktails were wonderful, but service could've been better. I think our server was trying to emulate the French vibes a bit too much with his lackadaisical attitude. We were dressed for walking NYC when we decided to stop in for brunch and no issues with getting a table. I'd however describe the space as classy, especially for dinner.

I had this restaurant on my bucket list, and initially, I went because it was NYC Restaurant Week 2024. I had dinner with my friend. The ambiance is intimate, and people were a little more dressed up. We ended up ordering a la carte because there were some dishes I wanted to try. I ordered a rose and my friend went red. The server was knowledgeable of the food and drink options, but service was slow. We started with the escargots and agnolotti. The escargots were very herby compared to the ones we've had at other French restaurants. The agnolotti was very good and worth ordering. For the main entrรฉes, we ordered the bison au poivre and heritage chicken. The bison was lean and filling, but the cost was steep for the quantity. The fries were good, though, and took those home. The chicken was very good, and the portion was generous. The cost of the chicken dish was on par with portion served. We had to skip dessert because we had a train/Uber ride to catch. I may return to this spot to try their duck dish or explore their prix fixe lunch menu.

Wonderful restaurant Beautiful Setting , gorgeous and delicious food. Every thing about this restaurant is special from the service to the perfect choice of cutlery and plates and colors of the room. The food was overall delicious and I would definitely return . One suggestion I have here a for the bread service I wish there was also a good Pain Poilane type of bread as well as the baguette very doable these days with some delicious bakeries finally opening in NY.
Be the first to ReplyThe duck confit and seafood soup is perfect.
However other dishes are only to the standard. It is still a good experience to try this restaurant
Be the first to ReplyIt's 3.
2 to be exact. We came to try its restaurant week menu. It's one of those restaurants that I don't necessarily have to try but I would for restaurant week. If you know what I mean. The RW menu was super simple, which only had 2 choices in every category. We just doubled every item on the menu for the 4 of us. The duck confit and cauliflower potato soup stole the show. The duck was fall off the bone tender that my friend who doesn't normally like duck even approved it. We also added the bread, steak with bone marrow, and fries additionally. The steak with bone marrow was not a piece of steak at all. It was just chopped meat formed it like a steak, which was not specified on the menu. We wouldn't have ordered it if we knew. Both the profiterole and passionfruit dessert were too rich and I had much better profiteroles elsewhere. Service was on the slow side, which we were okay with it cuz we're chatting. However, our server seemed like he's not happy to serve us the whole night. Not only had no smile, but also looked annoyed. Also, the noice level here was pretty high that it's definitely not date friendly.
Be the first to ReplyTried Le Rock for lunch over the summer and dined again
Tried Le Rock for lunch over the summer and dined again recently for a private event. We had a small room and the service was really attentive and hospitable. The staff were really nice and knowledgeable. The food was excellent: Seafood tower was fresh and succulent Bread and spreads were very French (delicious) Escargot's were perfectly cooked with pesto and garlic (and butter) Duck confit had a perfectly crisp skin and cooked to perfection We had a variety of delicious deserts A great spot for dinner or lunch

I hate to have to amend my review - but, unfortunately, the service, which was so wonderfully warm when we first visited has not remained consistent. The restaurant is still beautiful with a view of the iconic Rockefeller Center (especially festive during the holidays). However, the service was rushed and not nearly as welcoming as it had been. The dessert is still worth a trip alone, but the food did not blow us away this time either. I hope that the atmosphere and standards Le Rock began with can return.

Tourist Trap- Way over priced for quality of food- Menu was clearly designed for kitchen's pleasure not diners. For instance, shrimp cocktail doesn't come with cocktail sauce. When we asked for some, they said "that's not how we like to serve it" and didn't bring any!- The service is snobby, rude and invades your personal space. Literally bumped into me several times while seated and pounded the table while describing menu. At one point, waiter rolled his eyes!!!!- Tables so close together you can't pass without bumping into the other table.- Wine list super ovepriced, only bordeaux on menu is $650!- Highlight was reception desk, once seated down hill from there- There are fabulous restaurants in NYC, this isn't one of them
Be the first to ReplyGood food good wine some of which is encoded in the lists.
Very sympathetic attention to our half hour wait after 8pm rez time. Attentive and friendly sommelier. Fine table service. Insanely loud.
Be the first to ReplyGood but not worth it.
The food was decent and presented itself as fancier than it actually tasted. Everything was quite standard, which didn't make it worth the price tag. There are definitely better options, but it's an ok choice for the location.
Be the first to ReplyPasta was salty.
The uni was ok. Drinks not bad but expensive. Soup is good. 4 for bread and butter?? Super loud. If you are planning to have any conversation be ready to scream at york date

We were very excited due to the recent hype but left a bit mix feelings.Pro- Food: overall was good / Wine was good.Cons- space was quite loud / service was lacking / not enough servers when you want your menu written in French in America so it took a long wait for server to come around but then he looked surprised when we asked him to explain the menu to us, huh? Basically the experience not upto what they want to curate. The stand out dishes:1. Fries2. Escargot 3. Salted Cod amuse bouche4. Agnoloti Mushroom5. CodThe pretty good:1. Leek2. Halibut 3. Steak4. Duck5. Sweet Bread

Be the first to ReplyWe went on a Saturday night.
Reservation was hard to get but thanks to Notify on Resy I could snag a table. We got there half an hour earlier to have drinks and was surprised that they could accomodate us almost immediately (and there were many tables unoccupied). The bar is absolutely stunning, one of the best I have ever seen, it'swhat gives the restaurant its art deco vibe (more than the dining room which reads more like regular brasserie). It's completely separated from the dining area so you don't have diners eating just behind you. The cocktails are extremely small for the price (almost ridiculously so) but my Cosmo was tasty. Now the food. We all had fish and it was VERY good (expensive but at least cooked to perfection which is not always the case). The leeks were astonishing in terms of presentation and delicate in taste (we shared but there wasn't a lot to share). We had the baba for dessert and I personally liked it but my husband didn't (it was a bit dry but still delicious with creme fraiche). The servers were very smiley and accomodating. I don't think we are going to become regulars because of the prices but that's the only thing. I thought the parrons would be more dressed up but the atmosphere was more casual than swanky.

6/10Service: 9/10Ambience: 8/10Solid French food in Manhattan! Ambience is classy but the room was noisy and we could definitely hear convos at the table next to ours. Our favorite was the Rillettes de Canard (baguette served w/ duck and duck fat spread) & Steak Hachรฉ! My least favorite was the fluke meuniรจre because the fish was too mushy for me but the sauce was amazing and veggie was good! I got the prix fixe lunch (appetizer + entree) which was great value at $55! My partner ordered a la carte so we could try other foods that were not on the prix fixe menu. I got the following for Prix Fixe lunch:- Rillettes de Canard: 8.7/10 - loved that they kept refilling our breadbasket throughout the meal! - Garganelli Tuna: 8.2/10 - Fluke Meuniรจre: 7.8/10A La Carte: - Razor Clams: 7.5/10- Live Scallop (1 piece): 7/10 - tastes a bit like ceviche. One of the pieces was a little fishy. - Escargots Bourguignons: 8/10 - Leeks Vinaigrette: 7.5/10- Steak Hachรฉ: 9/10 - Baba aux muses verte: 7/10 - this was a light, fluffy, alcoholic cake! Unique but not my cup of tea. I will definitely be returning to try other items and would recommend Le Rock to friends and family!
Be the first to ReplyHad an anniversary dinner at Le rock and first and only
Had an anniversary dinner at Le rock and first and only experience. To say it was terrible would be putting it mildly, especially at this price point.Coat check was absolutely chaotic. There were quite a few empty tables during hour 2 hour dinner so they absolutely make it seem like they don't have reservations available online for exclusivity. Our table was awful. It was approximately 8" apart from the tables next to us on both sides and we could hear there conversations and obviously they could hear mine. All night my boyfriends shoulders would be hit by the servers and he would constantly have to lean to one side and at one point we had two servers on both sides of him and he had no idea where to go. Anytime they would serve our table or the tables on either side of us it was just a distraction. Couldn't really connect or focus on each other because there was so much going on around and so close together All the instagram influencers have to be getting paid or meals comped to post about how great and mind blowing this restaurant is. Most of the yelp reviews that are good are from influencers as you can see by how much they post. I'd be surprised if this place is open next year or if they have repeat customers. And as you can see on yelp the reviewers have tons of posts on their instagrams so it is influencers getting meals comped probably for a good fake review. The servers would try to take our dishes when there were still bites left. Without even asking they would lift the dish to take away and I had to stop them 3 times till I finally asked the server to slow service down. $22 for a 6 ounce glass of red wine, not even the standard 9 ounce. And they say everything is European sizes, when in fact they're just skimping but saying it in a pretentious way. The menu is completely in French so obviously you need the server to explain and she even agreed it makes her job so much harder and they will only explain a few items so you really can't even get what you may think is best and do not take the servers recommendations. Went from a $38 menu item to a $60 menu items and it really wasn't worth it. Also I think they try and push for the menu items that are about to go bad.We ordered the caviar, which is mostly crรจme fraiche. Not worth $45Crab from the raw bar, nothing to write home about at $35French onion soup, had better else where.Pork and calamari appetizer, no flavor at allBison was good but not worth $60Mackerel, had better fish at red lobsterProfiteroles, there take on profiteroles so not what you're expecting and way toooo heavy.Overall its a very, very over rated restaurant. If you do set your expectations super low. Extremely disappointing and extremely overpriced for what it is. Skimping in every aspect. From food, to space, to experience. Avoid at all costs. There are so many better restaurants in the city who take pride in what they serve. Even if the food was at a lower price point I still wouldn't go back. Just Awful and AVOID

That's a 5 for the New Year's Eve prix fixe dinner, early seating. Rogelio, our server, was warm and knowledgeable, and ably assisted by a fleet of supportive staff. Tony the Somm shared his deep wine expertise while maintaining a sense of humor and aplomb (and what's not to love about a man rocking a leopard-print shirt?) Corinne, who should be everyone's Boss Lady, made sure the details were perfect. The Rock Xmas tree lights filled the windows and sparkled over a perfect sequence of courses and fantastic people-watching. Next year we'll spring for the midnight seating.
