Loved the overall experience.
Went because it had a Michelin star but it felt more like a neighborhood wine bar, in a good way. Friendly service, reasonable prices and some great wines by the glass. Sharing plates style. What really stuck in my mind was a radicchio salad with pear and Stilton, the radicchio was the best I ever had, not bitter like usual. Monks beard (a sea vegetable) was the most interesting but the cod was probably the best overall dish, complex flavors that worked incredibly well.

I was forced to cancel a reservation here because my dining companion came down with COVID symptoms. Two hours before, I emailed the restaurant to explain but they charged me a 40 pound cancellation fee. This seems highly unreasonable and exhorbitant given the situation and the times.
Be the first to ReplyLeroy was one of the meals I was really looking forward to
Leroy was one of the meals I was really looking forward to on my trip to London - especially after hearing that they have a Michelin star! Unfortunately, I thought the meal was good but nothing spectacular and probably not worth the price. WE ORDERED:Charcuterie - we were expecting a charcuterie spread with cheese and meats but this only came with meats. There were 3 types of cured meats / salamis and they were all very good albeit some slices were extremely fatty. The deviled eggs were good but nothing special. The filling is super creamy and savory - I like mines to be a little more acidic to cut the heaviness.Bottle of white wine - very good The bread and butter - also good but again, nothing special.Squid - The squid was quite good and reminded me a lot of ceviche in terms of flavor profile Beef tartare - one of my favorites of the night. The beef was so flavorful, savory, and succulent. Well seasoned and prepared Salad - this was pretty good and tasted like they use really fresh and quality ingredients but it felt more like a cheese salad than anything else and the portion size was small (since we shared between 4)Hake - pretty good but very buttery and creamy / heavy Apple tarte with pistachio ice cream - this tasted like mcdonald's apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream didn't taste like pistachio at all.

Absolutely superb bistro meets Michelin starred dining experience with so many incredible dishes!Menu changes often which is so very exciting. Four of us met for a late dinner and i believe we were the last guests who left but really did not want to!
Be the first to ReplySeriously one of my favourite restaurants in london.
I came here with my parents while they were visiting after walking past it many times. We were only able to get a 9:45pm reservation on the saturday night so i recommend booking in advance! The menu changes weekly and as I was hesitant looking at the menu, it completely exceeded my expectations. Between the 3 of us we ordered about 4 dishes for mains and 2 desserts as they are smaller sharer plates. Between the drinks, food, service and ambiance, i couldn't have imagined a better evening. Definitely will be back!
Be the first to ReplyI was really excited to check out Leroy's as I had heard
I was really excited to check out Leroy's as I had heard great things about it. Sadly, we were left disappointed. The person working the host stand was so kind. Even though we were late he still got us seated and was very personable. We weren't even charged the late fee, which was more than kind. Unfortunately, he was not our waiter. Our waitress was not personable. She wouldn't even make eye contact with us and seemed to just nervously hover around our table, no help with suggestions or anything. It made us feel awkward to be eating there and we were glad to leave. The portions are tiny, and not that great. We got the bread, ricotta dumplings, and charcuterie. They just tasted average, nothing special for the price which you are paying. Overall, if you are looking for great high end dining I would go elsewhere.

Michelin star food in a relaxed, comfortable environment. 10/10

Let's start with the service - not exactly personable. We asked our server for recommendations on the menu. Instead of pointing out items on the menu for us to chose from (like most other restaurants), he simply walked off and proceeded to place orders without us knowing what was coming to "surprise us", i.e., not giving us a chance to choose. Moving onto the food, we had devil's eggs, steak tartare, mushroom mac and cheese (weird how our server's idea of recommending a dish was to order this particular one twice), some vegetables with cheese and walnuts (another "surprise", don't know what it was called or what it looked like other than it was covered entirely of cheese shavings) and the guinea fowl. If you really choose to come here, the fowl had the most complementary taste profile. The rest may as well have come with a health warning about the sodium levels for anyone who suffers from hypertension - most of our party couldn't taste anything else. Oh, and our server told us the dishes on the menu are designed for sharing, so expect to order a lot, because the portions aren't exactly adequate for this purpose. ย Conclusion: If you want interesting British food, there are better places. We came here because it was in the Michelin guide but if I'm being completely honest, after spending ~ยฃ190 for 4 people, we felt short changed, and bewildered how a restaurant of this quality made it onto the list. At least their alcohol list was far more substantial more than their food menu.

Great food at a Michelin spot! We booked a last minute reservation and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant took all the right precautions to deliver a safe and delicious dining experience. They're doing a set menu right now, and I can't wait to go back for the full version! We both started with the sourdough. The salted butter it comes with is unreal! The first official course was Italian tomatoes with a roe cream. It was delicious- creamy, smoky, and the best tasting tomatoes with a topping of basil! Next we had the main, the duck confit. Honestly the best duck I've had since we tried it in Paris and probably better than some of the places there! Finally, dessert. The mousse was nice, but I'm not a huge fan of cherries. The apricot tarte was tasty, tart but balanced with the ice cream. Can't wait to revisit!

They are Michelin starred for a reason! We had the set lunch and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. ยฃ19 for two lunch courses--gazpacho and duck leg with lentils. I also had a nice white wine which was recommended by the server.Service was great as well--the server did forget our spoons, but he apologized and quickly fixed the mistake.
