Leuca is a beautiful place in Brooklyn where you can indulge in a crafted meal. The combination of options between fresh pasta and other proteins leave you with many option, as you're definitely going to be pleased by the fresh taste and the variety of options. My friend and I dined outdoors and I would say it was a lovely time.

EXPERIENCE AND FOOD highly recommend! We attended the fever dining in the dark experience for a cute valentine's day date. Being big foodies thought trying this out would be different and fun-- and YES ! It was great. Leuca is an Italian restaurant which hosts dining in the dark experience, but also has its own dinner menu for those just wanting to dine without the blindfold. Located inside the William vale hotel serves delicious and flavorful Italian dishes. Due to the experience we weren't told was to be served as our sensory smell and touch had to do the work. Host was super sweet and guided you through the 3 course. These dishes are sold in the restaurant's menu as well, therefore I would highly recommend this restaurant for the experience or just dining. You are allowed to choose meat fish or vegetarian prior to purchasing dining in the dark tickets. Fever.com
Be the first to ReplySuch an awesome experience.
I came here to attend Dining in the Dark. A blindfolded 2 hour unique dining experience with a 3 course meal. A gateway taste with aroma intensity, that transforms each bite into an extraordinary adventure! I knocked down one star because I was not able to finish my main dish or care for the dessert as I don't like cheesecake. But kudos to the chef because the food was really good. The menu is a secret but keep in mind you get to choose either, meat, seafood or vegan. Perfect for date night or groups and so much fun.

Amazing restaurant ! I was very impressed with the food and service here. I will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyMade a reservation here on Christmas day for two people.
The restaurant is attached to a hotel and is basement level. Got our table quickly without many people around on an early evening. Started off with the Ricotta and Bread ($21) - albeit expensive, the taste is phenomenal. Well toasted thick bread, served alongside a rich whipped ricotta spread with a slight sweetness. Also tried the Marinated Olives (9) that are your basic starter. For the main course, ordered the Branzino ($39) - a filetted fish on top of cous cous with veggies on top. Fish is great, the sides are nominal overall. Service was good and the place wasn't too packed for a holiday. Prices are definitely high, so not a place that can be visited often.
Be the first to ReplyOutdoor dinning available during warm weather.
Two indoor dinning spaces available--one more casual [and well-lit], another, more formal [and dimly lit]. Both spaces work for any kind of occasion, from business to personal. Brighter lighting has a great, energizing vibe. Dimmed lighting creates an intimate atmosphere, conducive to romantic gatherings. Our waiter was a personable sweetheart; so warm and gentle. The hostess had an attitude [probably after a long day], so we tried not to mind. Prices are up there, so prepare to spend a pretty penny for a good experience. $25 grilled octopus was tender and flavorful. Thoroughly enjoyable and picturesque. Do recommend. $21 sheep's milk ricotta was delicate and tasty. Great teaser for your taste buds. You will lick the plate clean with that toasted bread. $48 pork shank was the bomb--huge portion perfect to share between 2-3 people. What a perfectly executed dish--possibly the best pork shank I've ever had [and I've had many]. The crispy skin was to die for. The meat was so tender, it fell off the bone at the first touch. The sauce was magnificent--so refreshing, it contrasted with the savory, fatty, rich meat, bringing out the meat's best taste profile. Truly a masterpiece of a dish. Highly recommend. $14 Pistachio cake was underwhelming and dry. Looks so pretty but is completely bland and disappointing. What a waste. Dessert is not this restaurant's strong forte. Skip and get dessert somewhere else. Cocktails were superb (as they should be at $18 a small pop). Sette Spritz and Mamma Ricco were standouts. So well balanced--enough of quality alcohol to make you slightly dizzy, but in a perfect way that you want right before dinner. Great balance between sour and salty and sweet and bitter. I don't drink, but I thoroughly enjoyed tasting my company's delectable drinks.

Located at The William Vale; easy decent brunch food if you're staying at the hotel. The lemon ricotta pancakes with toasted pine nut butter were light, cakey, and delicious with fresh citrus and real maple syrup. The Billy Burg breakfast: not great. Wet eggs, dry toast. Service was friendly but spotty. Had to ask for missing items and track down a coffee warm-up. Convenience was the highlight; pancakes were good enough that I'd revisit and give dinner a chance.

Amazing pasta from the Spaghetti king, it was the ambiance that lost a star. My wife picked me up and we drove to Brooklyn for dinner. When I made the reservation, it said "Inside or Outside?" Um.. inside please and thank you? Leuca is located inside The William Vale hotel, It's dark outside so I can't see the beautiful grounds. The outside area means the bar - dining area where its brightly lit. We were escorted into the main dining room. The room is dimly lit and there is a two piece band setting up for extra sexy time. The menu looks amazing, I immediately zero'd in on the Bucatini. My wife usually gets a fish dish but tonight she chose the chicken. Drinks are in order, for this evening they have a special smoked Bourbon cocktail. Sold! For a starter I ordered the grilled Ocotpus. Soooo good! My pasta comes to me, there's a little heat to this dish! Bucatini is my favorite, homemade Bucatini from Chef Andrew Carmellini is a game changer. Made with Calabrian Chili and these small Manila Clams, this was a fantastic and flavorful dish. So why four stars? The band! These idiots, that ain't workin', that's the way you do it. They were loud, close to us and plunkin' away at something. Every note was getting on my nerves. Also, can you turn up the lights? I swear, by the time my Affogato came, i had to use my fake table candle to see the dish. Another great restaurtant by Chef Andrew Carmellini, my favorite has been Rec Pier Chop House in Baltimore. I want to come back for brunch!

Be the first to ReplyCame here for a early dinner before a work event.
Upon arrival it was a very calm and inviting atmosphere with a beautiful front bar. The seating area is filled with big bold black and white portraits of a child . Not too sure what the theming is with that but it's kind of cool. Our waiter was prompt and made our ordering experience effortless adding his personal favorites and catering to what I could eat within my shellfish allergy. We had the Sheep's Milk Ricotta which was incredible ! I highly recommend. The tuna crudo was also a very fresh pallet cleanser . For entree I had the Lumache which consist of a Lamb Bolognese with ricotta and mint. Pasta was cooked perfect Al Dente and the bolognese was great. Would definitely come back !
Be the first to ReplyThe place looks very nice inside and has a great ambience.
Food was not great overall, appetizers were good, but main dishes were not very authentic and tasted bad ( pesto pasta, clam pasta and lamb bolognese) as we couldn't even finish them. The main dishes took one hour and a half to arrive which was very late. Service was terrible: no attention or updates on the entrees; no water replenishment. I would probably come by for drinks only.
Be the first to ReplyMy 3rd visit, 1st time having dinner here.
I'm not sure why this place doesn't get more buzz than some of the other Italian restaurants in Williamsburg. The place has a great vibe to it and the restaurant feels so cavernous and spacious compared to so many of the crammed places in NYC in general. This restaurant is great for get togethers and groups. Its a great place to invite out of towners. The food is always solid, pizza is solid and the inside is very warm rustic in a cool Brooklyn vibe. I'm glad that it's easier to get tables than the nearby Missy Robbins places and its just as good, if not better in my opinion. Don't miss the Pistachio cake/Olive oil gelato, it's so amazing, I'm going to try to replicate it in my own kitchen.

.. nearly everything was an A+ dish. Great vibe and ambiance. Would definitely recommend for another visit.

Went here for a bday dinner, very beautiful and dark ambiance. Good portions for the price. It was busy so the service took a little longer than we would have preferred but would definitely come back to try the pesto pasta.

Came here for a birthday dinner for a friend and had the best time. A group of seven of us ordered the following:- Olives: delicious, would get again- Ricotta: the honey wasn't spicy but still delicious- Duck Liver Crostini: a little heavy/ fatty (what do you expect) but still good- Grilled Octopus: amazing- Misticanza Salad: great balance of bitter and sweet- Casarecce Alla Norma: the pasta's texture was thick and chewy, something I'm not super used to, but delicious nonetheless - Sicilian Pistachio Cake: get it, get it, get it right now. - Gelatos: came with a cookie on the bottom? was amazing. There were other mains I didn't try, hence them not being noted. Cocktails and wine were superb. The service was attentive and friendly and really made the night easy for everyone. We were even running behind to reservations on the roof and they helped keep everything smooth and set it up for us to push the reservation back. I will 100% be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyReview for DINING IN THE DARK only.
The experience was highly disappointing as from the price point of $150pp, I thought this would be a fine dining type of experience but the food was very mediocre and even bad. 3 courses consisting of sheeps milk ricotta toast with mortadella sandwich, ragu with pasta shells, + pistachio cake. The first courses' bread was stale and cold, the desert was absolutely just stale. After looking at the menu prices of the normal restaurant menu, the food prices did not seem to add up to the face value of the experience since we were served smaller portions for the apps. The difference between the face value and actual menu prices was the premium for getting blindfolded. Several other diners voiced similar opinions that this experience was a severe let down. Given the advertisement of the experience, I thought the menu would have varied at least slightly from what was normally served at the restaurant but they just served exactly what was on the normal menu. There wasn't really mystery or inspiration behind the dishes. The experience is very gimmicky.

Do you want to have a meal where you feel like you're being conned? Or on a hidden camera show? Then dine at Leuca, the masterfully decorated Italian restaurant with the worst service I've ever encountered. I've never paid that much attention to reviews but if you're reading this I implore you: choose another restaurant. Leuca is severely understaffed and what staff they have is shockingly under trained. The only way we got water after we arrived at the table was by getting up and walking to a busser stand. We had to ask multiple times for water refills, napkins, silverware from servers who were always absent, either physically or mentally. After 3 times asking they were able to give us a QR code to the wine list, which was a broken link. After the server reluctantly handed over the seemingly only physical copy of the wine list, we discovered the wine we had just ordered by the glass was not on it. The waitstaff was then unable to tell us how much the bottle would be, offering a paltry "no more than $80 dollars" when we pressed them. After trying to surreptitiously let the server know that there was a birthday at the table and to bring a slice of cake, she came back to our table to loudly ask us "which kind of cake?" Was the food good? Sure, especially the ricotta appetizer. And our host who sat us was charming and helpful. But the horrid service after she left us meant that iI felt cheated out of a quality birthday dinner after the server dropped the check. Tl:dr okay food but horrible service from a skeletal waitstaff. Go literally anywhere else for something more worth your time and money.
Be the first to ReplyThe dinner environment definitely 5 star, food may be 4.
But the reason I give 3 star because the restroom is terrible. When we were there, one of the restroom was out of order, one is super dirty, the other one was just acceptable. We got eggplant pasta, that was an impressive dish for vegetarian. Trattoria and tuna crudo is good as we expect.

Wow This Place Beat All My Expectations! Came here with friends for their Jazz Night that they hold on Tuesdays! Music was amazing and fit the outdoor space like a glove! Before we got seating outside we had the pleasure of meeting Will their bartender whose service and craftsmanship started our night on its legs! I fully recommend visiting here just for the delicious cocktails he made us off menu. Food was beyond great and service left nothing to complain about. We will be returning for the pizza, yum!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful outdoor space and nicely designed interior space.
The octopus arancini was well prepared. The pasta and bass were also good. The other food choices smell so good I would return to try, especially the pizza
Be the first to ReplyIf I have to be honest the food here was very underwhelming.
The only thing that was super tasty was the Sheep's milk ricotta. I had the smoke ricotta ravioli and it was very tasteless and cold. My partner had the Bucatini Calabrese and it honestly tasted like it was made in Redhot hot sauce, no joke. We had drinks that were tasty but everything else food wise was horrible. The ambiance and service was great but that's pretty much all I can say. 2/5
