Hands down the best cookies ever.
I'm from out of town so I had to bring home a box for the Mrs. and the kids.
Be the first to ReplyLongest Levain line I was ever in.
Service was friendly and Lightning fast and the cookie I got was warm. Couldn't eat it till many hours later and it was delicious. God I love Levain's chocolate chip walnut cookie!

I'm giving this 4 stars because it was exactly that, it was good, not great. I really wanted to be blown away after so much hype. I visited from out of town and this was on my must try wishlist. I got the walnut chocolate chip and a chocolate peanut butter. The walnut was just good, the dark chocolate peanut butter was excellent. I wish I would've tried that one first. I would give them another try, but also think I might skip it and go for somewhere local too.

Levain's bakery was recommended by a friend of mine and I knew I wanted to stop there because my husband absolutely LOVES chocolate chip cookies. Luckily for us, they accepted online order since we were in a crunch for time of getting to the airport. We showed up at Levain's and our order was ready! I thought I ordered 6 cookies (some to bring back with us), but realized when I got there, it meant "three CHIP chocolate chip" not three cookies per order, oops. My error. We sat down to enjoy our first bite and didn't want to get up! We had to head out, but kept munching on the cookies on the subway. We even brought some back for family and they loved them, too!

By far the best cookies I've ever had! The chocolate chip walnut is to die for. The regular chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin tie for second place. They are the perfect treat and a must try!
Be the first to ReplyNo complaints! There was a line, but it moved fast.
Workers were friendly and there was some light music playing. I only bought a two chip cookie and it tasted delicious. I had to see what the hype was about. I know what you're thinking: "five dollars for a cookie?!" I couldn't eat it in one sitting, I ate half and saved for later. What makes the Levain cookie different from Crumbl or Tiffs Treats or wherever else? The cookie is big in circumference like a Crumbl Cookie, but it's got height to it and it has a crispy exterior. By the time I dig into my cookie, it wasn't gooey inside. The chocolate is very rich inside and it's almost a fluffy cookie inside the tough exterior.

Didn't really meet my expectations. Staff was a bit unfriendly. Ordered a chocolate chip walnut and an oatmeal raisin cookie. Cookie was cold, and the cookie is super heavy. It is probably best to share a cookie.A bit overrated. I'm hoping it was a one-off. I'm assuming cookies are hotter in the morning. Would be open to trying it again in the future.

Call me basic, but I love the oatmeal raisin cookies here! Love how thick they are, so every bite is a party in my mouth.I'm not a chocolate fan, but I do dig their chocolate chip walnut cookies. My husband also enjoys all of their other chocolate chip cookies!Cookies are about $5 each, but I think they're worth it. So treat yourself!

If you're in NYC - do yourself and your family / friends a favor and go get some cookies at LEVAIN! You will absolutely NOT regret it! We visited here the other night and we ordered the double chocolate chip and the chip chocolate chip along with some chamomile tea. The double chocolate chip was PURE PERFECTION and by perfection I mean - soft and moist, extremely delightful from start to finish. I was mourning my last bite because I knew it was almost over. The tea complimented the cookies well and there was a fair amount of space to sit and enjoy the desserts. I would say that the chip chocolate chip was GOOD but not as good as the double chocolate chip! The lines moved quickly and the service was great! If I could give this place a 6/5 stars, I would! Thank you for a wonderfully delicious experience and I can't wait to return!

This is the only place I would make a line for ! It goes by really quick anyways. The cookies are to die for they are huge so worth the $$$. I always get the two chip chocolate chip and the chocolate chip walnut. These cookies are always fresh you can see them being brought out! Everytime I have an opportunity I get some and they remain fresh for a few days outside the fridge !
Be the first to ReplyOHH these cookies were soo good.
I need to go to NY again to get some more of these cookies. We met some locals in the area that mentioned to check this place out. The lady recommended the Two Chocolate Chip cookie has the to go and the Chocolate Walnut Cookie. Definitely got both of these. These cookies were so soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. Later found out these are New York's favourite cookies. The restaurant does get busy and always has a line. So just know their will be some waiting involved. But these are definitely worth the wait. I did order the hot chocolate with my cookies which was alright. If you are going to NY or from NY I'm sure you know these cookies are just the best. I recommend everyone to try these cookies! *chef's kiss*
Be the first to ReplyWOOOOW, let me tell you these cookies are delicious.
Definitely worth the carbs, calories, and sugar. They're nice and soft on the inside but have a crunch on the outside. Their walnut chocolate chip made me forget I have diabetes and can't eat a whole cookie. Totally worth the extra insulin. They do have other treats beside cookies like bread or coffees. Staff is very friendly and the store is nice/organized. It gets busy though but the line moves fast. There aren't many places to sit though so you'll have to enjoy the cookies on the go most likely. The cookies are giant by the way. Price for a cookie is almost $5 BUT the cookies are not skimpy in size or ingredients. The cookies are full of chocolate chips in every bite. This place definitely lived up to the hype.

Decadent giant cookies!! You get them warm and the chocolate is gooey and delicious! And the coffee was good too. Service was fast and friendly.
Be the first to ReplyBest cookies in NYC.
If you want to impress out of towners, need a gift idea, or something to bring to a potluck - levain applies to all of above. These cookies stay soft even days after you buy them (if somehow you don't finish them all the same day you buy them)

What more can I say that hasn't already been said? This place is the best spot to get cookies in NYC. No joke.Friendly staff--check. Cute decor--check. The cookies--check, check, check!I came here at what feels like the crack of dawn (ok, maybe it was 9 a.m. but to me that's early), and let me tell you fellow Yelpers, this is the best way to get your morning started. What I got:Two Chip Chocolate Chip: I didn't get the signature Chocolate Walnut everyone raves about in their reviews--sue me! This delightful cookie has two-times the amount of dark chocolate chips as the aforementioned, but it is absolutely warranted and welcomed. Loved. Every. Gooey. Bite. I was in a chocolate euphoria for what was left of the morning. Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter: Dear. God. What. Is. This?!?!?! Is this my reward for being a half-decent human being? Yes. This indulgent cookie will make you feel life is worth living through every bite. An overload of peanut butter chips and a chewy dark chocolate cookie base. It's every chocolate-peanut butter lovers dream come true. I got three of these and ate two in one day! Yeah. I like to live on the wild side like that! The coffee was good stuff, worthy of holding its place amongst other bougie, hipster spots like La Colombe and Blue Bottle. And paired with those cookies...So after reading this review, what are you waiting for! Go get yourself a cookie the size of one of your palms--and then get another--and another! Life is too short to eat just one cookie a day!

Line generally forms on the sidewalk outside but it moves very quickly! Service is supreme with an employee keeping track of people inside and will call you in once capacity inside permits. Cookies come out warm and fresh. Hot take - I liked the oatmeal raisin better than their famous chocolate chip walnut
Be the first to ReplySo far the best cookies In the city.
Try the double chocolate one and the oatmeal one is a must!

Finally checked out Levain Bakery, which is famous for their ultra thick cookies! I got the classic Chocolate Chip Walnut cookie which lived up to its reputation as quite a thick cookie. The texture was great -- a nice crispy layer covering the soft inside -- but it was too sweet for me. I was disappointed by the sticky bun that I also tried; the bun was room temperature rather than warm and that also meant the bun was harder and tougher to chew than preferred. Overall, the cookie was a solid choice but nothing mind blowing that's worth a long wait while the sticky bun was not worth the money even if there was no line.

So happy that Levain has expanded and has multiple locations as this was not the case when I lived in nyc. The noho location is so convenient! No wait on a Sunday morning. I picked up 2 cookies: chocolate chip walnut and chocolate peanut butter. Total was $9. Both cookies were rich and soft in the center.. perfect! My only qualm is that they weren't served warm. The flavor was great though!

There are no other bakeries that can make a cookie of this magnitude. I first discovered Levain years ago in their upper west side location and now they have several different bakeries in the city.If you decide to try them make sure you eat them fresh because they're warm and crispy on the edges but the best part is the gooey core. The cookie is cooked to perfection and they definitely don't short on the ingredients when make it either. My favorite cookie by far is the oatmeal raisins and when enjoying them right away leaving no crumbs is the way to go.

Cookies were amazing like always, the downfall was the attitude of the girl making coffee today. Not even a smile or sense of her wanting to be there. Like she was done with the customers. When she called out my coffee, she first said, "coffee is ready. Latte." I looked up and asked her if it was the almond milk latte and she said yeah and that was it. I thanked her, no response. She just looked like she didn't like working. It was very odd...considering how busy and hyped up LeVain is. The cashier guy was nice, but honestly the mood didn't feel like my first time visit 5 years ago at one of the first locations. The ambience and look is modern and clean and appealing, but the store lacked the friendly opening hospitality vibe. Very disappointing. Overall the cookies are amazing. I think the coffee girls name is Kia or Khia, I asked another employee her name. I really hate writing reviews like this, but this can't be ignored...otherwise I rate the cookies a 4-5 star
Be the first to ReplyCookies weigh 10lbs each packed with deliciousness.
Want to impress friends outside of NY, then here is where you should be. Be prepared to wait in line and be buffer than you were after carrying these cookies

If you want the thickest cookie in the world, go to Levain bakery. I have heard there's a line or wait when you go there in person so I just ordered it off one of the food delivery apps and had it delivered to my door. My boyfriend LOVED the chocolate chip cookie. The bread was super good too. Highly recommend!
Be the first to Replycame on a Wednesday night and there was hardly a line.
tried both the oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip cookies and they were both very dense, large, and sweet (with the chocolate chip being sweeter than the oatmeal raisin). i heated them before consuming and the texture was just perfect. furthermore i hold the opposite regard for the espresso based drinks. after trying the oat cappuccino, i'll be sure to pass on coffee in the future.
Be the first to ReplyFor years I've read how amazing Levain's chocolate chip
For years I've read how amazing Levain's chocolate chip cookies are and how they are the best chocolate chip cookies ever. Since I live in LA I was super excited when I found out that you can buy a box of 8 fully baked frozen Levain cookies for $10 at Whole Foods. I bought a box to try at home and they are like everyone said the best chocolate chip cookies ever so I was really looking forward to trying them freshly baked in person at Levain when I went to NYC. To my disappointment the cookies weren't any different than the frozen ones I warmed up in the comfort of my own home and it cost $4.50 a piece. If you can find them at Whole Foods in the frozen dessert section, just get a box and save yourself some money.
