LittleMad New York Reviews from The Last Year

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Little Mad, a restaurant that offers a unique twist on modern Korean cuisine with a touch of French influence. In a city where this trend is gaining popularity, Little Mad stands out as a refreshing addition to the culinary scene. One of the standout aspects of this restaurant is the creativity that shines through in every dish. The beef tartare, for example, was a revelation. Unlike any other beef tartare I have tasted, the chef expertly incorporated Korean flavors such as shitake mushrooms and sesame oil, resulting in an explosion of umami flavors. It was truly an unforgettable experience for my taste buds. Another highlight was the outstanding rice dish. What sets it apart is the chef's attention to detail. As the dish is brought to the table, the chef personally scrapes fresh bone marrow onto the rice, adding a rich and decadent element that elevates the entire dish to another level. Aside from the exceptional culinary offerings, the service at Little Mad was impeccable. Jean, the General Manager, played the role of a great host, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. His professionalism and attentiveness were evident throughout the evening, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of. In conclusion, Little Mad is a restaurant that successfully combines modern Korean cuisine with French training, resulting in a dining experience that is both innovative and satisfying. The chef's creative spins on traditional dishes, such as the beef tartare and the rice dish with fresh bone marrow, are a testament to their culinary expertise. With Jean's exceptional hosting skills, the service at Little Mad is nothing short of excellent. If you're looking for a unique and memorable dining experience in NYC, I highly recommend paying a visit to Little Mad.
Came to Little Mad for a weekend dinner, made a reservation
Came to Little Mad for a weekend dinner, made a reservation about 2-3 weeks ahead but the place was very spacious and had some empty tables so probably do not need a reservation. Personally I loved the decor of the place, very clean and simple, lots of wooden structures. Our server was very helpful, asked us if it was our first time here, recommended the right amount of food to get, and went over some of the alcohol list with us. There was a raspberry martini we got that was very delicious and has a pretty good kick to it. Food wise, very very delicious. Every course was surprise and I did not feel a single moment of dullness. We started with the yellowtail crudo in between the pear slices, the sauce was so amazing and went so perfectly with the fish and pear. We also got the beef carpaccio, it was delicious. Our mad hot plates were equally as amazing and our main course was probably the best. The galbi steak was to die for, so tender and juicy while the lobster fried rice was so full of flavor. This was one of the best Asian tapas places I've been to and would definitely come back, it was quite a bit pricier than I had expected though in the end so had to take away a star, but if you don't care about the price, this is the perfect place to have a great time with amazing food!
We had high hopes for this place - I thought COVID got rid
We had high hopes for this place - I thought COVID got rid of wait staff with an attitude but not here - we were seated at a table with a cold draft coming in from the front door only to hear a waiter screaming above the loud music playing Drake as he served another table and described each plate - enough said - the app we did try was great but the attitude and atmosphere was not the dining experience we had expected - so were out of there and went elsewhere...
Food was absolutely delicious, but I somehow got charged
Food was absolutely delicious, but I somehow got charged double my meal because they messed up my credit card. That should not be happening at any restaurant and they did not even apologize for their mistake to me.

First off, the interior is nice, but the service was horrible. Took a while to get seated, server was unprofessional, and food was disappointing. For the price and portion you get, I expected better quality food, but everything was too salty or just bland. Don't come here if you are expecting good Korean or Korean fusion food. I usually don't leave negative reviews but this really was a waste of money.
My review of a dish i had at this amazing korean restaurant
My review of a dish i had at this amazing korean restaurant in NYC called LittleMad (Squid-Ink Rice with Oxtail Bone Marrow) Squid ink rice was not your ordinary siripaey te palao because it looks dark( like "the" dark side) This dish will make you love your dark side in small doses! It was stiff with flavor and the oxtail bone marrow that you scoop out with a tiny spoon, was a gooey detail that makes it completely unique! It reminded me of Siri paey: except the chef gives you just enough to have a food-gasm , but you won't feel abundantly loved, (like you do when having siri paey in Lahore) because I feel Koreans think less is more when it comes to artery clogging deliciousness of concentrated cholesterol of oxtail ! #fyi #foodgasm Also let me take a moment to praise the waiter who orchestrated this melody of Korean food seamlessly for us. If you get him, you'll know what I mean!
This is a bougie date spot.
Worth going if you haven't, get the sampler which lets you have a bite of multiple items, I think it ranged around $70 a person. The entrees were TINY, I dont recommend sharing.
I'd say this place is worth the (admittedly a bit high)
I'd say this place is worth the (admittedly a bit high) price! portion sizes are good, and i especially liked the pork chop with the corn purée (not usually a big pork person, either). I also thought the chef's snacks were fun (the tiny taiyaki!! cute!! ), although not necessarily mind-blowing. service was really good (a highlight imo), and the food came quickly in succession. Also got a little signed menu for birthday :)
The food was AMAZING! Very fun small dishes to share.
Great for large groups and it was cool that it was an open kitchen. Service was friendly and helpful.
We originally made the reservation for Restaurant Week but
We originally made the reservation for Restaurant Week but opted to order a la carte which turned out to be a bit less expensive. We ordered the snacks so we can try a bit of everything. The snacks were very light and flavorful. For our mains we ordered the lobster and prime galbi. The lobster had lots of flavors but did not have that much meat. Prime galbi was rich, but the mushroom was salty. We decided to order a dessert. It was very refreshing.
