An incredible dining experience! The service was
An incredible dining experience! The service was next-level, with servers who are personable and knowledgeable. The staff acknowledged our anniversary and offered complimentary sparkling wine. The Lavender Rose cocktail is really something special and the recommended wine pairings were spot-on as well. All our food was excellent: the Caprese was shockingly fresh and flavourful for this time of year (March), I had a delicious gnocchi special, and my partner enjoyed the fresh fettuccine with perfect, buttery scallops. We really appreciated the special touches of a tasty amuse bouche to start and sorbet between courses. We did find that some diners were a bit loud, which is a crappy position to put the staff in. Liv doesn't have the same cozy vibe as some other fine dining restaurants in the area--it's a more modern feel--but that's really a matter of personal taste and not a judgment on the establishment. Overall we felt well taken care of and had a great meal. No complaints here!

Overall great establishment! The service was very timely, no long waits for any dish. Multiple checks to see how things were going and if there were any additional needs. The food is great. Larger than expected portion size for the appetizer. Dinner and dessert was excellent. Cocktail was delicious. Would definitely go again.

LIV restaurant is located inside White Oaks Resort with plenty of parking spots outside or walk over after shopping at the outlet mall. The decor is modern and eye-catching. Not a lot of people for a Sunday dinner which I was still surprised that we couldn't make reservations for 5:30 pm. At the end, the most they had was 6 tables with guests. So basically, quite empty. While we waited for our food, we were presented with complimentary chips and a dip, house made since it was still warm. Crunchy yummy!! My hubby had their burger with a salad. And he said it was pretty damn good!!! I had the eggplant Parmesan but sans the cheese. The two eggplant pieces were large and the pasta was cooked right. Smothered with lots of tomato sauce. However, I was surprised it came in a bowl instead of a plate. So indeed the presentation could be better. Overall, the taste was there and I was a happy Cat. Too bad I didn't have room for dessert. I would have loved to try their chocolate avocado cake. Sounds interesting!? Moreover, White Oaks Resort is a very nice place to stay at if you are around the Niagara-on-the-lake or Niagara Falls area. ** Don't forget to take a stroll at the back of the resort. Very calm and relaxing. They have a pond full of goldfish. Starbucks and McD is across from it so hop over for any snacks.

Menu selection is great -- options for vegetarians + we did dine with vegan needs and gluten-free too. Service was incredible ... if you order the nachos be HUNGRY! This image is a half order and with 3 of us eating there was still about half left. Table for 2 behind us order the full nachos ... they'd wished they'd known! They were delicious tho. Other items included Caesar salad, classic club, and a lentil salad.

My family had a beautiful time! Outdoor patio, twinkle lights and a beautiful garden. We in particular loved the salmon dinner and the NY steak. It surpassed our expectations for a hotel restaurant!

Oh my gosh! If you want fine dining, this is the place to be! The service is impeccable and you will not be disappointed with the portion sizes like most other fine dining restaurants. I got the duck and asked for medium rare, which was also the chef's recommendation, and it was the most perfect duck I have even had! My partner got the 16oz steak, which seemed gigantic to me especially with the sides, but he was able to finish it (with a little difficulty). It is pricey but it's appropriately priced for the whole fine dining experience. We went to celebrate my partner's birthday so didn't feel bad splurging a little. They also have regular chef's special which I am excited to next time some day!
Be the first to ReplyWe came after a lovely wine tasting event in NOTL.
My friend picked the place based on the reviews which is additional reason I wanted to review. I ordered the brussel caesar salad, there was no brussel sprouts and it was not tasty as a caesar salad. I order the frites they were cold and neither did anyone at our table enjoy them we ended up sending the remains over 80 percent back. I also the calamari..... I was not enjoying it so I offered it to the table. We sent more than half back. I had been really looking forward to our dinner for our celebration. Many regrets.

This is my second experience eating at LIV restaurant in the White Oaks Resort. It was a great experience. The staff are so catering. The food is delicious. We were given am Amuse-Bouche with Boccacchini Cheese, Basil and tomato with a oil and vinegar drizzle over it. The bread basket had a dip (Made of squash) whipped butter and also oil and vinegar. We then were given a Raspberry Sorbet to cleanse our palate. I ordered the Chef's experiment which was steak, with grilled veggies and some potato, bacon and cheddar bake. It was absolutely delicious! We opted for no dessert but they brought us out a mini piece chocolate that you could just pop into your mouth before you head out. The little perks also added to the vibe. I highly recommend it
Be the first to ReplyLIV is only open for dinner Tues-Sat so I wanted to take
LIV is only open for dinner Tues-Sat so I wanted to take advantage of the resort's 'Get Outta Town' package which comes with a $75 dinner credit per person and a $20 credit for breakfast. We dined like ROYALTY. No wine for us, just straight food! Where LIV really shines is their appetizers. For our dinner, we were treated to a crab claw amuse bouche with a seafood sauce. Then there was an assortment of breads with three compliments - sunflower oil and balsamic, a tomato hummus (amazing!), and simple butter sprinkled with sea salt which was surprisingly our favorite since it was so tasty with the fresh bread. With our credits we were able to order 3 appetizers and 2 main dishes. First we had the LIV caprese salad (vine ripe tomato, buffalo mozzarella, chiffonade basil and kalamata olive over lemon quinoa with Niagara balsamic reduction). The tomatoes were super fresh and the Niagara balsamic reduction was sweet and not too acidic. Everything worked together with the lemon quinoa. Then we had my fav, the P.E.I. mussels (Niagara stout, double smoked bacon, grape tomato, spinach, gorgonzola cream). The sauce was amazing and I wish I had more bread to soak up the juices. Then there was the Shellfish 4x (crab cake, smoked tomato aioli; lobster spring roll, ponzu glaze; seared scallop, Asian slaw; jumbo prawn, garlic butter). I loved the scallop, couldn't really taste the lobster in the spring roll, the prawn was good, and the crab cake was delicious. Thank goodness it was a small appetizer because by now we were already starting to get full! We even got a complimentary sorbet bite to cleanse our palettes before our mains came. The pan seared Manitoulin Island rainbow trout was perfectly cooked and the romesco sauce had a bit of a kick for those that like spice. The lemon pepper rösti potato was slightly overdone IMO and wasn't crispy, but more chewy. The Drost Farms triple duck burger came with a fried duck egg and was done over easy so it oozed goodness over the burger. The duck confit bits were dry though. The parmesan garlic pomme frites were amazing and didn't need any ketchup (if you like that sort of thing). All in all, if you get some credits while staying at the resort to eat here, it's definitely worth coming here for a meal!

Stayed at the hotel and we decided to have breakfast here it was amazing. We ordered the lox with bagel and cream cheese, espresso pancake, and the omelette. We had no complaints about any of it and the coffee was great. Whenever we're in town we will definitely be coming back here for breakfast.
