Based on all the great reviews, my wife and I were excited to try Locanda Amalfi. We came at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening. When we arrived we were told that without a reservation they could only seat us outside as they were totally booked. Although the place was empty and it was chilly, we decided to take a seat outside. While waiting (too long) for someone to take our order, I looked on OpenTable and saw they had plenty of availability all night. I have no idea why they lied to us. We stayed and ordered. The food was incredibly salty. One dish was inedible. Because we were outside, the waiter didn't come out and check on us. When he finally came out with the bill, I told him that the food tasted like they dropped a bottle of salt it it and I couldn't eat it. He just told me he'd mention it to the chef while he handed me the credit card reader. Really horrible experience and food. I am honestly confused how this place has such good reviews.

I chose this spot for our early Valentines dinner based on the menu, which had several items that sounded delicious. We made a reservation ahead of time, which I'd recommend due to the small sized restaurant inside. (They do have outside dining). We were greeted and seated right away. They had Valentines decorations throughout the restaurant, which was a nice touch. Although the restaurant doesn't have the most comfortable chairs and they do have tables pretty close together, the ambience was still nice for Valentine's Day and there was nice music and soft lighting so it wasn't bright lights throughout. Our waiter was attentive and recommended dinner plates that were popular, and when I couldn't decide on my entrée, he suggested the one that was a favorite among diners, and it did not disappoint. There was too many items to decide on that sounded so good for appetizers. I chose the polenta trio with the different sauces, and though it was good, I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the sauces that were paired with It. My husband ordered the Caesar salad and he enjoyed that. For our dinner entrées, he had the squid ink linguine with clams and I ordered the homemade gnocchi with truffle sauce, which was amazing - so fresh and yummy. For dessert, I had heard that the lemoncillo was delicious and I confirmed that with our waiter. Even though I don't typically order lemon desserts, it was very good. My husband had the chocolate cake with vanilla gelato, and though it was very rich, he ate every delectable bite. At the end of our meal, our waiter gave us complementary dessert shots. I cannot say all that was in them, but it tasted a little like caramel, so it wasn't bad and a nice way to end the meal. We will definitely be back. We had one of our best meals ever at this restaurant.

My friend and I stopped here for a glass of wine and were amazed at how cute this place is! It's an intimate Italian restaurant but there's also enough space to accommodate a large party, as there was one in there when we went. We sat at the bar and the guys were so nice to us, even letting us taste their homemade limoncello. Can't wait to come back for a meal.

The food was great, my favorite was probably the Brussels sprouts. It was a bit busy inside so we ate outside, they had heaters and blankets for us so it was comfortable:-) They serve complimentary french bread with a dip and the choice of sparkling water vs still.My friends and I shared the brussels sprouts, margarita pizza, and pesto pasta. The pesto with prawns was great and filling. It did taste fairly nutty but I liked it and it's unique taste. I really enjoyed the margarita pizza. The crust was really good. Brussels we're to die for The ambience is awesome, music was one of the highlights of eating here. Really classy covers of pop songs, big fan. The food was served quickly, great service. I'd come back again!

But it's lively and loud at the same time!The service: we made a reservation for nine on a Friday night at 6:30. We were sat promptly and all of the servers were extremely attentive. Everyone was friendly and the food was out promptly. I loved that they brought out the appetizers and the kids entrées at the same time, they did ask beforehand to confirm that was OK. We also never had our water glasses empty. They did a fantastic job. They also brought us celebratory made in house vodka,Carmel, and vanilla shots. AMAZINGon to the food..... we had FRITTO MISTO, BURRATA PUGLIESE, PIZZA TARTUFO, GNOCCHI AL TARTUFO, ITALIAN RIVIERA, PACCHERI PESTO, LAMB CHOPS, TIRAMISU, and DOUGHNUT NUTELLA BALLS. Everything was amazing. The food was fresh and flavorful. My family and I rarely finish our entire meal and always have leftovers- but everything was so good we inhaled every last bite. The pizza dough was soft and fluffy, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I can't wait to return!

I was craving for pizza and I found this place accidently as I was around the area. At first I thought this place was one of those place where the decoration is nice and the food was meh however the pizza we ordered came out to taste fantastic! It was a busy place for a Monday night, but I could understand why after enjoying a good meal! We had the bolognese, fish, veal, ravioli and Brussel sprouts. All were yummy!! Service was excellent, as well. We had to get there early since it was a surprise dinner party. They sat us at our table and we enjoyed appetizers and drinks before the birthday girl showed up. There was no rushing us through dinner. It's a cute spot in downtown Pleasanton.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
