Good food and great service.
Have not had a bad meal since they opened in Pleasanton.
Be the first to ReplyThe inside of this restaurant is beautiful.
I stopped in on a lunch visit with a 7 person work group and the restaurant was fairly empty. I ordered the bolognese but they brought the complete wrong dish. The rest of my group started eating and I was assured my meal would be brought out in 2 minutes. It ended up being 15 and by that point the rest of my group had finished eating. I ended up having to get mine to-go. At the price point per head, I would expect much more attention to detail from the staff and an ability to quickly correct the issue. The bolognese wasn't even that good when I got around to eating it :(

Yikes, I have eaten here several times and the food and service had been good. Friday evening, I ordered the Pollo Marsala, chicken lacked flavor, the sauce was just OK, the potatoes were not cooked well. I enjoyed the appetizer, my Negroni before dinner and my glass of Pinto with dinner - the chicken dish was a big miss.

Ordered take out on Thursday and were taken aback by the small portion sizes considering the prices. Size was tiny and bits seemed thrown together. The pasta left my husband hungry. Pizza was good! Won't order take out again.

Nico was so helpful and kind. Will definitely come again!
Be the first to ReplyWe tried once more, but are done with this place.
The staff continues to be rude and condescending. We had a reservation but didn't like the inferior table we were given. The restaurant was completely empty inside, where we preferred to be seated, but "no other tables were available". We left and had a lovely table and exceptional meal for our party of six two doors down at a great place, even though we didn't have a reservation. When we were leaving an hour and a half later, the table we had requested was still empty and available. Too many great dining options downtown Pleasanton to put up with that behavior.
Be the first to ReplyGreat good and fantastic service .
The lunch was so authentic, brings back good memories of my trip.
Be the first to ReplyService is outstanding.
Yummy apps, fritto misto and beet salad. Delicious main courses: ravioli di aragosta, pappardelle bolognese and filet special (awesome steak). We all enjoyed our visit and will be back.

the food was delicious! the service is outstanding and authentic. . Real Italian in every way. relaxing meal, not rushed in anyway.
Be the first to ReplyWe were here to celebrate my son's birthday.
We had already made a reservation so it was easier to get seated as soon as we reached the restaurant. The server was really very nice and patient with our order. I ordered the Molo Beverello cocktail and my husband got the Old Fashion and others got Coco cola. We ordered appetizers to go with our drinks, Fritto mito which is deep fried Monterey calamari tiger prawns with chef's capri sauce, pane and olives which is homemade bread with taggiasca olive spread. Our main course was brasato - short ribs, ravioli di argagosta, pizza and lamb chops. The food was okay, didn't feel anything great but the service was great. The ambience is good and the interiors have vibrant colors. They do have outside seating as well but that evening it was raining hence the inside seemed a bit crowded and cramped. We ordered their special dessert which is mostly small donuts with Nutella. Overall, it's good to try once.

Everything including pizza is good but by far my favorite is the truffle gnocchi. I always clean the plate when I get it.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, friendly service, entertaining atmosphere.
Just within earshot of live local music for those seated outside. Heaters and blankets for the added touch, so cozy

We went to Locanda Amalfi last night to celebrate our anniversary. We've been to the one in Livermore but wanted to try the Pleasanton location. What a great find! It was so charming! And the staff was wonderful, especially our waitress, Chiara. I had the gnocchi al tartufo and he had the brasato. Both dishes were delicious. Our dessert was the Limoncello cake served on one of the terracotta tiles that decorated some of the walls. Great idea! We will definitely be back.

We came on a Sunday at 12:30 pm, I suggest making a reservation because it got crowded fast. Luckily we had one. Will definitely come back.

I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant since it felt very cozy. The decor looked very nice and thought out. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. I ordered a Pane and olives (bread and olive dip), lasagna, meat lover pizza, and a couple of cocktails. The bread tasted fresh but I would skip the olive dip. The lasagna was good but a little too saucy and I wished the portion size was a little bigger. I was still hungry after finishing this. The meat lover pizza was tasty. One of my cocktail tasted amazing. It was spicy and a little smoky. The Nutella martini was a little strong for me.

One of my favorite restaurants! I always have to stop in when I'm in town. Save yourself the trouble and get the truffle gnocchi. Oh my gosh, it is the best thing on the menu. The customer service is great; staff was running slow one night and gave us free alcohol, and on another occasion I simply asked what kind of olive oil they served with their bread because I liked it, and they gave me a bottle to take home for free! It gets extremely noisy inside, so I recommend sitting outside. And be sure to make a reservation. I believe they stopped giving the free bread without asking, so be sure to ask if you're a bread-lover like us. And once again, GET THE TRUFFLE GNOCCHI (WITH SAUSAGE)! It's to die forrrr!
Be the first to ReplyIt's downtown so getting parking spot was a challenge.
The restaurant is very aesthetically decorated and we were seated immediately for a Sat dinner without reservation. We had the calamari, vongole and San Daniele pizza. The food were tasty and fresh but we find the restaurant a little too noisy to even have a conversation

Great food! Great service! Prices are reasonable and nothing to worry about. The pasta dishes are as good as expected in an authentic restaurant, but the secondi are what really knocked the ball out of the park!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time in this restaurant and had a great experience.
Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, professional and provided authentic experience. We ordered Brussels sprouts, calamari, gnocchi, pizza, and fettuccini with crab. You definitely have to try this restaurant. Everything was fresh and delicious!
Be the first to ReplyAnother fabulous meal from Locanda.
Butternut squash raviolis, salmon in a mustard sauce, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, beet salad, caesar salad and some desserts. Everything was fresh and delicious. Would have liked some bread, but not a big deal. We really like this place.

Based on all the great reviews, my wife and I were excited to try Locanda Amalfi. We came at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening. When we arrived we were told that without a reservation they could only seat us outside as they were totally booked. Although the place was empty and it was chilly, we decided to take a seat outside. While waiting (too long) for someone to take our order, I looked on OpenTable and saw they had plenty of availability all night. I have no idea why they lied to us. We stayed and ordered. The food was incredibly salty. One dish was inedible. Because we were outside, the waiter didn't come out and check on us. When he finally came out with the bill, I told him that the food tasted like they dropped a bottle of salt it it and I couldn't eat it. He just told me he'd mention it to the chef while he handed me the credit card reader. Really horrible experience and food. I am honestly confused how this place has such good reviews.

My friend and I stopped here for a glass of wine and were amazed at how cute this place is! It's an intimate Italian restaurant but there's also enough space to accommodate a large party, as there was one in there when we went. We sat at the bar and the guys were so nice to us, even letting us taste their homemade limoncello. Can't wait to come back for a meal.

I chose this spot for our early Valentines dinner based on the menu, which had several items that sounded delicious. We made a reservation ahead of time, which I'd recommend due to the small sized restaurant inside. (They do have outside dining). We were greeted and seated right away. They had Valentines decorations throughout the restaurant, which was a nice touch. Although the restaurant doesn't have the most comfortable chairs and they do have tables pretty close together, the ambience was still nice for Valentine's Day and there was nice music and soft lighting so it wasn't bright lights throughout. Our waiter was attentive and recommended dinner plates that were popular, and when I couldn't decide on my entrรฉe, he suggested the one that was a favorite among diners, and it did not disappoint. There was too many items to decide on that sounded so good for appetizers. I chose the polenta trio with the different sauces, and though it was good, I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the sauces that were paired with It. My husband ordered the Caesar salad and he enjoyed that. For our dinner entrรฉes, he had the squid ink linguine with clams and I ordered the homemade gnocchi with truffle sauce, which was amazing - so fresh and yummy. For dessert, I had heard that the lemoncillo was delicious and I confirmed that with our waiter. Even though I don't typically order lemon desserts, it was very good. My husband had the chocolate cake with vanilla gelato, and though it was very rich, he ate every delectable bite. At the end of our meal, our waiter gave us complementary dessert shots. I cannot say all that was in them, but it tasted a little like caramel, so it wasn't bad and a nice way to end the meal. We will definitely be back. We had one of our best meals ever at this restaurant.

The food was great, my favorite was probably the Brussels sprouts. It was a bit busy inside so we ate outside, they had heaters and blankets for us so it was comfortable:-) They serve complimentary french bread with a dip and the choice of sparkling water vs still. My friends and I shared the brussels sprouts, margarita pizza, and pesto pasta. The pesto with prawns was great and filling. It did taste fairly nutty but I liked it and it's unique taste. I really enjoyed the margarita pizza. The crust was really good. Brussels we're to die for The ambience is awesome, music was one of the highlights of eating here. Really classy covers of pop songs, big fan. The food was served quickly, great service. I'd come back again!
