Turkish delight
We got a table right away even when we arrived earlier.. we ordered kefta as an appetiser which was really small.the citrus salad was delicious but very small. We got a bottle of french rose wine, short ribs with mashed potatoes and eggplant staffed with ground beef. Everything was really small. As a side dish we got Patti’s bravado which were totally spoiled by nasty sauce

Such a wonderful place all around. Being Turkish the food was very familiar. Not your normal Turkish food or kebab but a fine dining version which was so creative and well done. The service and recommendations were perfect. I am GF and most of the menu works for you. Wine selection was interesting and solid.

Treated the nephews and their girlfriends to a Turkish dinner in the Richmond district. I'd been there for lunch before and the sandwiches were quite large. We found the entrees to be flavorful but small in size.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly service, good food, modern decor.
We tried Lokma while staying in a nearby AirBnB and really enjoyed it. We enjoyed 2 entrees, dessert, wine and beer. Friendly, good food, quick service, not rushed, modern decor, indoor/outdoor seating. See my photos of our experience. If you found this review useful, please click the thank button.

LOKMA was recommended to me by friends and it was delicious! Located in San Francisco’s Richmond district, they serve up Turkish/mediterranean cuisine. Get there early - they only take reservations for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyNeighborhood gem
Such a neighborhood gem. We loved every bite, but the standouts were the mushroom soup (it was divine) and the homemade meat dumplings were just out of this world. The Turkish coffee was everything it was supposed to be, which is mikes apart from any other after dinner coffee. We’d go back in a heartbeat.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent- great Turkish food and amazing service
Definitely worth a visit- even if it means going out of your way to do so. We came here after visiting the Legion of Honor- found it because it was relatively close. What a great find. Delicious Turkish food-- loved the dumplings with beef and yogurt & tomato sauce, the chicken, and the biggest hit was the chcolate baklava!-- first time we had had a chocolate version. Quizzically they also had Papas Bravas (with olives thrown in as a twist)-- strange to see on the menu but we weren't complaining (we actually ordered a second one!) Service was great. Offered us clean plates at every turn. Only complaint is that they are skimpy- VERY skimpy with the pita bread. We had to ask for more twice. Each time they bring like 5 small triangles of pita (for a table of five). This was disappointing and annoying. But otherwise a fantastic find!
Be the first to ReplyNo shwarma but that's good
We came into town to see sibs and others. My sis recommended this place since it has a sheltered "parkette" during this COVID-19 pandemic. First I asked server if they have "shwarma," or gyros. They don't so I know it is a high-end Turkish resto. The style is like tapas with all types of dishes non-stop. It was mostly vegetarian -- to the liking of most present. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service was excellent and professional. I haven't eaten an authentic Turkish meal since my shwarma in Istanbul. I still love a good shwarma.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service. Limited lunch menu.
The server was very friendly. There were a few gluten free options on the menu, but the lunch menu didn't have many choices that were allergy friendly. The kitchen uses soy oil for cooking the potatoes, chicken, and other men options that are sautéed or friend. The salad dressings also contain soy oil. If you have a soy allergy like I do that limits food options. I had a salad with no dressing and extra olives and avocado for lunch.

We've gone for dinner twice, and recently during shelter-in-place, we ordered for takeout. As always, the young lady was very friendly and helpful, and the food, as always, genuine and tasty. It's quite light (lean) and ingredients are very fresh. The decor is modern, casual/chic. Portions are generous.

I know very little about Turkish food but I know that I like what was presented at Lokma. We had the warm olives, zuccini dolmas, baba ganoush and lamb loin chops and they were all five star.

Had branzino and lamb chops with manti, beef dumplings with tomato sauce. Delicious. Place was a bit noisy, good service. A definite must. A Richmond district find, check it out. Will try again.
