Refined dining in a gorgeous setting.
The all-day dim sum menu selection is perhaps on the smaller side but each offering is well-considered and crafted. We ordered the fried rice with salted egg yolk (the salted egg really elevates this simple dish!), strip loin in special sauce, crispy green beans and a number of dim sum dishes - har gau (shrimp dumplings), fried yam kok, Chee Cheong fan, pan fried chicken dumplings, steamed bbq chicken bao - all delicious. Wait staff was attentive and kept refilling our pot of jasmine tea. One of the few restaurants that prepares the mango pomelo sago dessert the way I remember having it in Hong Kong, and beautifully presented too. Great dining experience!

5 stars to me.) Luk Yu Tea House is wonderful, and feels like it could be an oasis on a bustling street or equally at home alongside a pond. The menu is large, with a variety of small-plate and large-plate options. The food is very good, with rich, complex flavors. (We had the garoupa [grouper] with a variety of fruits, beef with special sauce, scallop/shrimp dumplings, and lotus paste pancakes.) The tea menu was on the small side, but it included a variety of enjoyable teas. The honey-lemon drink was outstanding also, and it was one of numerous non-tea drink options. The price per a full meal -- appetizer, entrรฉe, dessert, tea -- looks to be around RM100. The restaurant has a very pretty setting within its decorative open walls, around the kitchen. However, the main restaurant is right off the atrium with its very loud 'soft'-jazz performances; if you want quieter dining, then the tables between Luk Yu, Enak, and Sentidos are also an excellent option. (You can still hear the jazz clearly, but you can talk to your dining companions easily as well.) The service was generally solid, although we had a large gap at one point when our waitress apparently left for the evening and it took a while for us to corral a waiter to begin helping us in her stead.

Unlike many other restaurants, the dim sums here are served all day long and are pork-free. The ambiance is warm and delightful and the food was served in a jiffy. The restaurant has a comfortable indoor smoking area (separated from where the non-smokers are seated, of course) so everyone was happy :)The tasteful decor and low-light settings give the place a very laid-back and relaxing tone. Food is pretty good (could be better), but the atmosphere has definitely made up for whatever that it is lacking.
