Cute little gem
Nice menu, not overwhelming, very creative. There is enough variety to please a group. Good service.

We came for a slow Saturday brunch and had an incredible meal! Food, service, and vibe were all great. We will definitely be eating here again next time we’re in town.

Took over an hour to get our entrees. The beet bruschetta was great if you like goat cheese which we received quickly. The polenta was way over priced for the amount of polenta I received and the broccolini was tough. The bucatini noodles with the cinnamon was not good but I also don’t have a palate for that either.

This cafe is exquisite! You may need reservations - it is well known as a fabulous place. Farm to table, menu items vary daily (with some standard items), but all good! We shared our apps and entrees.

Fresh and comforting food. Cozy place that’s always busy. You need to call ahead. Dishes are commonly green with fresh veggies and very tasty. Love the beat salad with feta cheese.

Wow we had a fabulous meal! The freshest ingredients, creative combinations delivering amazing flavor. The heirloom tomatoes were crazy good along with the 3 sisters baby corn, the pasta, the chocolate creme brûlée everything had you begging for more. Service (she was from South Carolina) was outstanding, personable and warm. They made a family of 5 very happy tonight! Thank You Lula!

My daughter suggested that we try Lula’s Cafe for breakfast while we were visiting Chicago, so we jumped on the blue line and traveled to Lulas. The cafe was crowded on a Sunday morning, and we were looking at about 30 min wait. With the latest updates on the COVID delta, we wanted to avoid crowds, so my daughter spoke to the manager, and she was very willing to come out to us and take our order and then bring us our food which we took and went over to the park nearby.
The food is very good and plentiful. I had the pancakes, and could not finish them (3 large pancakes to an order), my wife had the baked French feta, daughter had the beet bruschetta, and her boyfriend had the breakfast burrito. There was plenty of food leftover, and provided another meal and snack along the way.
The effort of the staff to make sure we felt comfortable and happy with the experience shows that Lula’s Cafe is committed to their customer service.
I would recommend that you check out Lula’s Cafe if you get the chance.
Safe Travels.

Wonderful brunch - go!
Amazing brunch at a busy gem in Logan square. Worth any wait you may encounter. Lovely waitstaff and good mimosas. The tofu scramble is sooo good!

We were fortunate to get in for lunch, and were not disappointed by the hype. Friendly wait-staff, good vibe, and fresh, creative and delicious food. We will figure out a way to go back.
Be the first to ReplyIt doesn't get any better than Lula
One random December day, I followed Google's instructions to a "restaurant near me", and stumbled upon Lula with no expectations. From the warm welcome from both the hostess and our server, to the appealing drink and food menus, the stage was set. I ordered the Chinese broccoli and sweet potato rosti, and the Royale. Each dish was perfectly designed and executed, leaving you wanting more of everything. You can tell everyone in that kitchen cares. Dishes were all cleared, water topped off. I thought, after countless disappointing dining experiences lately, that service was dead. Lula's servers (front and back of the house) were extremely attentive and professional. I cannot recommend this place enough, and will make a point of returning any chance I get. Thank you Lula Cafe!

I loved everything about this place. The eclectic decor, the charming waitstaff. The restaurant was crowded on a Tuesday night so we sat at a bar adjacent to the kitchen. It was fun watching the kitchen staff in action. The food was interesting. I had the soft shell crabs, yum! I also had a drink called the "Sunday School" and it was amazing. This place might be a little out of the way for most tourists, but it is well worth the trip!
Be the first to ReplyOut of the way, and worth the trip
Was looking for an interesting place to eat on way back from O’Hara airport. Google maps found it for us. It was a little out of our way, but we’ll worth the trip. It is a hole in the wall, opened in 1999. The place has a great vibe, the staff is super friendly, and best of all the food was amazing. Everything we tried was just dripping with flavor. We hope to be back.

Lula happens to be on the same block as the excellent City Lit bookstore, so we've been there with fellow book-lovers for lunch, and taken visitors to dinner. Because the interior has such a high noise level, I prefer to be there when the weather is good, and you can eat outdoors. It's busy, but the servers handle the crowds expertly. The food is fresh, inventive, and seasonal. There are great vegetarian options. Lula is a good example of where Chicago's modern cuisine is heading. It's not cheap, but it's a good option for a special meal, or one where you plan to sit and enjoy your fellow diners for a while.
